Meeting Su Qinghe's smiling eyes, Qin Ange's hand, hidden under the table, tugged at the fabric on her leg.
"I……"
He hesitated about how to answer. He secretly wanted to drink the wine that Su Qinghe had poured, but he also felt that it would be too abrupt for a man to do so.
He opened his mouth for a long time but couldn't come up with an answer, while Qin Anmin, who was standing to the side, stared blankly in frustration.
Seeing that Su Qinghe was still holding the wine pot, Qin Ange, regardless of her hesitation, picked up the wine glass in front of him and handed it to him.
"Pour it for him, this kid's too shy!"
After saying that, she turned back and gave Qin Ange a disgraceful look.
Su Qinghe smiled and nodded, then poured half a cup into the pot.
"This is wine I brewed before the New Year. It's been about two months. I knew Sister Qin was coming, so I specially dug it out of the yard for you to try."
Just as she was about to put the wine pot away after it had only been half full, Qin Anmin stopped her.
"This half cup isn't enough for him. Does my dear sister not want to part with your wine?"
She joked and snatched the wine pot from Su Qinghe's hand. "I'll pour it for him, my dear sister, you can rest."
"Hey!"
Before Su Qinghe could stop it, the wine glass had already been filled.
"What are you saying, Sister Qin? Do I look like a stingy person? It's just that this wine is my latest creation, and it's very strong. I'm afraid that Young Master Qin might get drunk."
Qin Anmin put the wine pot back and waved his hand confidently.
"Hahaha, my dear sister, you're overthinking it. This kid can hold his liquor! No matter how strong the liquor is, he can easily drink three or four jars!"
She placed the wine glass steadily in front of Qin Ange and plopped back down on the stool.
"Oh well!"
Seeing that her advice was ineffective, Su Qinghe gave up and simply sat down.
Looking at the wide, bamboo-tube-sized wine cup in front of him, Qin Ange silently moved a little further away.
Now his image in Su Qinghe's eyes is completely ruined.
Half a cup would have been barely acceptable, but Qin Anmin poured him a full cup, filling it to the rim.
When he moved it just now, even though he was very careful, some spillage was inevitable.
"Do none of you gentlemen drink alcohol?"
Looking at the three familiar-looking men opposite him, Qin Anmin asked a question.
"None of them drink alcohol."
Su Qinghe explained with a smile, raising her wine glass to the center.
"Now that we've got all the drinks we can, let's have this first toast to celebrate the New Year."
"good!"
Qin Anmin readily agreed, nudged Qin Ange under the table with his leg, and then raised his glass.
Helpless, Qin Ange carefully held the glass of wine, which was about to overflow, and gave it a perfunctory clinking with theirs.
Seeing that the two had already taken a sip of wine, Qin Ange couldn't help but feel a little anxious. He quickened the speed at which he pulled his hands back, and some of the wine in the cup spilled out, sliding down the edge of the table and wetting the outer robe on his legs.
Without wiping himself away, he took a big gulp, as was his usual habit.
The moment the wine entered my throat, an extremely strong spiciness filled my throat.
Forced to swallow, Qin Ange's face instantly turned bright red, and her eyes were also moistened with tears.
"Cough cough..." The spiciness filled his nasal cavity, and he still couldn't help but cough lightly twice.
"Good wine!"
After downing a glass of wine, Qin Anmin dramatically slammed his fist on the table and shouted, his face beaming with excitement.
"What kind of wine did Su Xianmei use to brew this? It's so potent! That cup I just drank was more refreshing than several jars of wine I usually drink!"
"Quickly! Bring me the wine jug, I want to taste it again!"
She hurriedly pointed to the wine pot placed next to Su Qinghe.
"It's just ordinary glutinous rice with some bamboo leaves, but the brewing method is a little different, which increases its potency."
"Sister Qin, it's best to drink less. If you get really drunk, your husband, who is pregnant, won't be able to take care of you on the way."
As Su Qinghe spoke, she picked up the wine pot and refilled her glass.
"Would Young Master Qin like some more?" she asked earnestly.
Qin Ange quickly waved her hand. "No, no, I still have half a glass left!"
As he spoke, he reached out and moved the glass to the side, seemingly afraid that Qin Anmin would try to snatch his glass again, and then refilled it for him.
"Then we'll refill it when you're done."
Su Qinghe put the wine pot back in its original position and raised her cup again to offer the toast for the second cup.
This time, she was thanking Qin Anmin for selling her the mansion.
Qin Ange dared not drink half a cup as before, but only raised her arm slightly and took a symbolic sip. Even so, she felt a burning sensation on her tongue.
There were five men at the table. Su Qinghe's three men couldn't drink, and Qin Anmin's wife was pregnant, so he couldn't drink either. Therefore, Qin Ange was the only one at the table who drank with the men in every round.
Although he only took a small sip each time, after several rounds, the original half-glass of wine was already empty.
Refusing Qin Anmin's offer to pour more wine, Qin Ange sat quietly to the side, listening to the two women chat.
She enjoyed her meal, watching as Su Qinghe's three husbands would occasionally serve her some snacks to go with her drinks.
For some reason, his mind started to become a little muddled, and he picked up the same dishes that his husband had served her.
He continued to put the food into his mouth one by one, watching the chewing frequency of her cheeks and synchronizing with her.
"Oh no! The wine's all gone?"
Qin Anmin frowned and shook the bottle a few times, unwilling to give up, but the expected wine did not appear again; only a few drops were produced.
"Does my dear sister have any more?"
With a hint of anticipation and longing, she looked directly at Su Qinghe, her eyes sparkling with hope.
"Yes, there is, but it's a different kind of wine. Because it's quite strong, I only brewed two jars in total," Su Qinghe replied softly.
