"Cough cough... cough cough!"
Just as the medicine was administered, Ji Qingyu, who was lying on the bed, suddenly started coughing.
"Yu-ge'er! You're awake!"
Ji Yuan exclaimed in surprise, quickly placed the medicine on the bedside table, and used a handkerchief to wipe the corner of his mouth.
"Cough cough... Brother! Where are we?"
Ji Qingyu opened his eyes and looked around at his surroundings in a daze. He had just woken up and was still unable to exert any strength in his body; only his head could be turned slightly.
"Is he awake?"
A woman's voice suddenly came from inside, and Ji Qingyu's body stiffened.
He turned his head in the direction the sound came from and saw a young woman with elegant features walking over, followed by a man.
"Yes! My lady! Yu-ge'er is awake!"
Ji Yuan stood up with red eyes and took Su Qinghe's hand.
"Brother! What did you call her...?"
Ji Qingyu stared wide-eyed in disbelief when she heard her brother address a woman.
"Whatever you hear is what you believe!"
Su Qinghe walked to the bedside and looked down at him.
"Who are you?" Ji Qingyu looked at her warily.
“I bought you and your brother back from the slave traders, so who do you think I am?” Su Qinghe raised an eyebrow at him.
"I don't care who you are! You're definitely not a good person!"
She's reduced to buying men from slave traders to be her husband; no one would be willing to marry their son to her. What kind of good person could she be?
“Yu-ge’er, she is now our wife, you mustn’t be rude!” Ji Yuan scolded him when he heard him speak to his wife like that.
“Brother…” Ji Qingyu looked at Ji Yuan with resentment.
