The lightning flashed and the forest became darker.
Suddenly, a resentful woman's voice sounded:
"Have you seen my head?"
The white figure from before suddenly appeared in front of Chu Qi.
Its body was wrapped in a white sheet, its neck was covered in blood, and white maggots were faintly visible rolling around inside.
Chu Qi and Sun Yue were short and couldn't see how terrifying the ghost's neck was.
In their eyes, it was like a bed sheet that had become a spirit and was asking them questions.
At the moment the question was asked, the scenery behind the sheet spirit changed.
Countless towering trees have disappeared without a trace.
A narrow forest path appeared behind her. At the end of the path was a dilapidated villa with shadowy figures around it.
On both sides of the path was deep, dark nothingness.
Tuanzi's voice rang in the siblings' heads:
"Congratulations to the player for triggering the side quest - Help Li Yun find her head
If successful, you will get 50 points and a random item: a clue to Linlin's preferences.
Warm reminder: Players have the right to refuse, but the consequences of refusal may be unbearable for players~"
Chu Qi didn't care about the first fifty points, but she was very interested in Linlin's clues.
Linlin is related to the main quest, and maybe Linlin's preference is the key to completing the quest.
Chu Qi thought about it for three seconds and then agreed.
"I'm looking for your head too, wanna join me?"
Chu Qi held Sun Yue, who was unaware of the situation, and gave an innocent smile to the bed sheet spirit - Li Yun.
Li Yun asked in a questioning tone, "Hmm?"
What’s going on? Although it is a ghost in the Novice Village, its scary index is still very high.
Why aren't these two new players afraid?
It thought for a moment, looked at the height of the little boy, and understood something.
Unable to get the scare value, it said the rest of the line in a rather depressed tone: "My head is in that haunted house, go find it."
\"Goodbye~\" Chu Qi waved to it and set foot on the path with Sun Yue.
.....
The dilapidated and decaying haunted house is located in the deserted suburbs.
Sitting at the ticket office at the entrance was a slim woman with short hair. Her face was very pale, but her lips were as red as blood.
"Ten dollars a ticket. The haunted house is holding a group buying event recently. If you gather fifteen people, you can experience the whole place for free!" the short-haired woman shouted.
In front of her, many men and women gathered. They did not rush in, but waited and watched.
Chu Qi came up and found a line of words displayed above the heads of some of them.
The font above the head of the woman closest to her reads: Player-Zhou Xiao.
The lady with short hair, who is the ticket seller, has no fonts on her head.
Chu Qi's pupils shrank, and she immediately realized that the person with the font was most likely a player like her.
Those without fonts are the natives of the infinite world, or NPCs. In short, they are unlikely to be humans.
Is it a repeat of the accident? Or a repeat of the murder?
Chu Qi's mission is to find Li Yun's head, but now it is obvious that the first step is to visit the haunted house.
She pondered secretly.
A bald man with the name "Player-Pang Hu" written on his head saw Chu Qi and his sister, his eyes flashed, and he shouted:
"That's enough. With these two, there are exactly fifteen people!"
The other players with words on their heads looked at Chu Qi and the others, some were surprised, some were disdainful, and some were secretly delighted.
"Two kids, not much competitiveness." The young man with the player - Lin Tong above him murmured.
The ticket seller leaned over to look at the two people who looked like elementary school students, took out the business manual, flipped through it, found a certain item, and said:
"Visitors under the age of 16 are requested to experience the tour accompanied by their guardians, otherwise they are not allowed to enter."
As soon as he finished speaking, Pang Hu immediately became anxious. These two children were players. Players entered the dungeon by themselves, so where did the adults come from?
He whispered to Chu Qi, "Hey, kid, tell me I'm your dad and I'll take you in. Otherwise, no one can play."
Three black lines slid down Chu Qi's forehead. She didn't have the hobby of recognizing random fathers.
Chu Qi walked through the crowd and came to the ticket counter and said calmly:
"I am a dwarf. I was born short. I am already 23 years old. This is my sister. I am with her."
"Um?"
The ticket seller was stunned for a moment, then looked at Chu Qi seriously for a moment, as if considering the truthfulness of this sentence.
The other players were all worried about Chu Qi.
It’s not that they were worried about Chu Qi, but they were mainly afraid that his lies would be exposed and they would be killed, and then they wouldn’t be able to gather fifteen people to go in.
There were a total of ten players present, including Chu Qi and her sister, and five NPC natives.
"What? Do you discriminate against disabled people?" Chu Qi narrowed her eyes. Her calm temperament actually had some of the aura of an adult.
But she looks like a child with fair skin and a well-proportioned body.
When the conductor heard this, his expression was blank for a moment, and fear flashed in his eyes:
"No, no, I don't discriminate against people with disabilities. Since there are enough of you, go in. Here are your tickets!"
She grabbed a handful of tickets, held out her hand, and said, "Please come over and get your tickets. Have fun in the haunted house."
Chu Qi stepped aside and waited until the first person got the ticket and was safe before she leisurely went to get two tickets.
As if worried that Chu Qi’s small arms and legs couldn’t reach it, the ticket seller even bent down and held the ticket in front of Chu Qi.
Soon, a group of players and five indigenous NPCs entered the door of the haunted house one by one.
