Chapter 387 Fake Eunuch 14

After some rustling noises, there was the sound of something gently opening the window.

Chu Qi compared the height of the beam and sat down silently. It was uncomfortable to squat.

She put her legs down, and the people below, unless their eyes were extended to the top of their heads, would not notice that there was an extra person on the beam.

After a while, a dark shadow appeared, and a cold wind was blowing outside the window, blowing in a lot of snowflakes.

The shadow's upper body climbed up the window sill. Just when it was halfway up, it began to breathe heavily, and it sounded like a male.

He panted and rested for a long time, then with great effort he stretched out one leg and grasped the window sill with both hands, as if trying to climb over and get in.

The level of effort made Chu Qi blush: With this physical condition, you dare to come and eat? Aren't you afraid of dying of exhaustion when you come in...

She wanted to laugh, but managed to hold it back and continued to observe quietly.

After a while, the man exerted force, let out a low roar, and suddenly jumped up, and his whole body finally climbed onto the window sill.

His breathing became heavier and he leaned against the window for a while, as if he was resting. When his breathing gradually became steady, he slowly crawled into the imperial kitchen.

"Ouch." The man let out a low cry of surprise when he landed.

Chu Qi and the others were bored, so they wiped a winter date casually and took a bite. A slight crisp sound was heard, which was sweet and cool. The man below did not notice the sound which was so subtle that it could be ignored.

The man had been completely distracted by the food in the imperial kitchen. After his strength was restored, he hurriedly climbed to the stove.

He opened the lid of the pot and took out the cold rice and dishes. He didn't care whether eating them would give him diarrhea and stuffed them all into his mouth like he was extremely hungry.

I don’t know how much he ate, but the man suddenly burped.

"This child, how long has he been hungry?" Chu Qi thought to herself. She finished a winter date in a few bites. It was quite delicious. She wiped a new one and continued to eat it.

She decided to wait until the man left and then take some more. It was so sweet, and she promised that he would like it.

Just then, something unexpected happened.

Suddenly, there was the sound of a restless crowd outside the house. It seemed that a lot of people were coming this way and were approaching quickly.

"Hey? Why is this window open?!" a palace maid exclaimed with a clear voice.

Soon someone asked, "Who was the last one to leave the imperial kitchen tonight? The windows were not even closed. What a dereliction of duty!"

Inside the house, the man holding a big bowl of food and a bag of fruits in his arms was stunned!

How could anyone come here so late?

He walked around the house anxiously, trying to find a hiding place, but just as Chu Qi couldn't find a hiding place, he certainly couldn't find one either.

There was a sound of unlocking the door, and the voice that had previously raised the question said again:

"Your Majesty has a good appetite right now, so we have to be extremely alert and cook for him properly. Don't mess up the recipe because you're sleepy, or you'll lose your head!"

Some people responded with flattery.

Snap——

The key unlocked the door.

Chu Qi lowered her eyes and looked at the pitiful little creature below who had no place to hide. Thinking of how he had just clumsily climbed through the window and wolfed down cold rice and cold dishes, she suddenly felt that he was very pitiful.

She sighed secretly, landed gracefully, whispered "Don't move", put her arms around his waist, and led him to the beam.

In the darkness, the man stared with wide eyes at the guy who brought him up in disbelief. This beam must be at least four or five meters high! How did he fly up here?

Yes, fly up!!

Is this something a human can do?

He was so surprised that he almost dropped the thing in his arms. When it was about to fall, Chu Qi quickly grabbed the food in his arms and glared at him speechlessly.

It seems that this man not only has poor physical fitness, but also poor adaptability. Even after bringing all the things here, he doesn't even know how to hold on to his belongings.

Yay~~The sound of a door opening was heard.

The imperial chefs and palace servants who were waiting at the door came in one after another. The palace maid in charge of helping lit the candles in the room, and the originally dark imperial kitchen became unusually bright.

No one noticed that there were two more people up there, but a young eunuch who was cleaning up the leftovers at the stove screamed:

"Who stole the pickles and porridge?!"

"Someone stole that thing? I think the window was not closed, and a stray cat got in!"

An imperial chef said sarcastically, "Alright, let's not pursue the matter of not closing the window tonight, but remember this in the future! If wild animals outside come in and destroy the food in the imperial kitchen because of not closing the window, we will all be in trouble! Understand?"

As he spoke, his tone turned stern and his eyes swept over the eunuch or palace maid who might be the last one to leave the place, with a deep warning in his eyes.

"Yes!" they replied loudly.

Among them, there was a young eunuch who was the last to leave. He looked at the window with a puzzled look. He remembered that he had closed the window when he left! He was even afraid that it was not closed firmly enough, so he pulled it twice more...

How strange!

Unable to figure it out, he simply gave up the doubt and suspected that he had remembered it wrongly. Or maybe the weather was too cold and froze his brain?

Above, the "wild animal" didn't even dare to breathe. He carefully retracted his legs outside the beam and sat there curled up, hugging his legs.

The candlelight brought brightness, and Chu Qi clearly saw the man who came in to eat secretly. He looked very thin.

She had felt it when she had carried him up just now, that he was so thin that his bones were poking at people. Now, looking at him closely, she found that he was almost unrecognizable, and his eyeballs looked like fake ones, big and embedded in two holes.
