Chapter 222 Xie Yan was abandoned?

Zhang Weimin was speechless after hearing this, staring wide-eyed at Zhang Shiyu: "Yes, yes, I don't know who it is, who stays on the kang every day and refuses to get up, and now they've even learned to turn the tables and wrong an innocent person."

Zhang Shiyu rolled her eyes at him, her gaze full of disdain, snorted, and walked away without looking back.

Meanwhile, Xie Yan was struggling to get out of his warm bed, drowsiness washing over him like a tide, his eyelids drooping.

His comfortable life during this period had led him to develop a habit of sleeping in late, so he felt really uncomfortable getting up early today.

If it weren't for the fact that this was the only kang (heated brick bed) in the house, he would have loved to find another place to sleep.

Just as Xie Yan was thinking of going back to sleep, he seemed to remember something, turned to look at Yu Yuehui, and said sleepily, "Wife, how about I go to Gu Bin's place, you and your good sister can have a good get-together." As he spoke, he couldn't help but yawn again.

Looking at how sleepy he was, Yu Yue felt a pang of heartache and said with a smile, "Then wear more clothes and remember to come over early for lunch."

Xie Yan nodded dazedly, mechanically dressed, wrapped himself up tightly like a rice dumpling, and then slowly walked towards Gu Bin's house.

Meanwhile, Gu Bin, another "expert" at sleeping in late, was immersed in a sweet dream.

His room was dark and quiet, with the curtains drawn and the only sound the sound of his even breathing.

Suddenly, a knock on the door broke the silence. At first, Gu Bin thought he was dreaming, so he turned over, trying to go back to sleep.

But the knocking grew clearer and more urgent, and he was suddenly jolted awake, realizing that someone was indeed knocking.

Gu Bin was startled and jumped out of bed, still half asleep, wondering to himself: What's going on so early in the morning? He muttered to himself as he slipped on his shoes and hurried to open the door.

Gu Bin opened the door groggily, and the cold morning wind rushed in, making him shiver.

Upon closer inspection, Xie Yan, standing at the door, had his head drooping, looking like a defeated rooster, exhausted and listless.

Gu Bin was genuinely surprised, his eyes widening as he blurted out, "What happened to you? Did you and your wife have a fight and you got kicked out of the house?"

As he spoke, he ushered Xie Yan into the house, adding incessantly, "Brother, as men, we have to be more generous. What's wrong with giving in to your wife a little?"

"Even if my sister-in-law doesn't do things perfectly, we should be tolerant, shouldn't we?"

"Look at your life now, how comfortable and fulfilling it is! Just for that reason, you have to be patient with everything."

"Look at you now, you've really been kicked out, haven't you? Tell me, what are you going to do now?" Gu Bin said, then let out an exaggerated sigh. "Sigh, how are we going to eat now? But, you've offended your sister-in-law, surely it won't affect me, right?"

Xie Yan glared at him coldly, her eyes seeming to say, "Have you had enough?"

Seeing that Gu Bin was still acting like the same old guy, rambling on and on, Xie Yan interrupted him directly, saying, "Isn't this what you're really thinking about?"

"Is there anything else? Just say it all at once."

Gu Bin sensed the awkward atmosphere, immediately plastered a fawning smile on his face, and began to spout nonsense with a straight face, "Oh, I'm just mainly concerned about you, brother!"

"Everything else is secondary; your happiness is the most important thing!"

Seeing that Xie Yan's expression was still unpleasant, he quickly waved his hand, "Alright, alright, I won't say anything more, okay? Look at you, how petty you are, you won't even let people say anything."

Xie Yan was too lazy to waste words with him, so he shoved him aside and strode inside, saying, "Get out of the way if you're done talking, I'm going to sleep!"

Upon hearing this, Gu Bin instantly flew into a rage, his eyes widening like saucers. He shouted, "No way? You two were arguing all night? Xie Yan, stop right there! Tell me what you were arguing about, and I'll see if I can help you salvage the situation!"

Xie Yan was already extremely sleepy, and this noise made his temples throb.

He suppressed his anger and replied impatiently, "Stop with your useless thoughts. My wife and I are doing great."

"The things you're hoping for are impossible."

"And take your hands off me, I want to sleep!"

Upon hearing that they hadn't argued, Gu Bin immediately released Xie Yan's hand, and his smile returned: "It's good that you didn't argue, it's good that you didn't argue."

"By the way! I never expected you two to argue after you just said that."

"I'm the one who most wants you and your wife to live happily ever after."

Ignoring Gu Bin's grumbling behind her, Xie Yan went inside, found the most comfortable corner, and fell asleep immediately. Soon, her even breathing could be heard.

By the time Gu Bin finally calmed down his gossipy temper and wanted to find out why Xie Yan had come over so early in the morning, Xie Yan was already fast asleep.

Gu Bin looked at the fast-sleeping Xie Yan, his face full of doubt, and muttered to himself, "How can he sleep so much? Did he really not sleep at all last night?"

"No way? Did they really have a fight?"

He knew Xie Yan had a bad temper when she woke up, but he was really worried about Xie Yan and her husband's condition, since it would affect the quality of his "meals" in the future!

After much hesitation, Gu Bin put on his coat, quietly closed the door, and sneaked towards Xie Yan's house.

As I reached the door and was about to push it open to go inside, I heard a girl's clear laughter coming from inside.

He listened carefully and was certain that it was not Yu Yuehui's voice.

Now it dawned on him—so Xie Yan had been kicked out to make room! Gu Bin patted his chest, secretly relieved: "Thank goodness, thank goodness, it wasn't because of an argument that I was kicked out."

"I've managed to save my own private tutoring!"

After confirming that the two were alright, Gu Bin hummed a little tune and happily went home.

Upon entering the room, one could see Xie Yan sprawled out, taking up most of the kang (a heated brick bed).

Gu Bin was furious!

While I'm out here in the cold wind, this guy is sleeping so comfortably.

If it weren't for the fact that we're good brothers, I would have kicked him twice.

Gu Bin quickly took off his coat, squeezed Xie Yan closer to him, and then burrowed into the warm bed.

Xie Yan slept soundly for a long time, and when he woke up it was already past ten o'clock. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and remembered that Yu Yue had said that he should go back for lunch early.

He reached out and nudged Gu Bin, who was still fast asleep beside him. Gu Bin had gone to bed late last night and had been woken up early this morning, so he was still very sleepy. When he was woken up, he looked impatient and angrily shouted, "What!"

Xie Yan yawned and said, "Eat, what else? Or do you not want to get up and eat today? Then you can continue sleeping."

After saying that, she ignored Gu Bin and got up to get dressed. Gu Bin was bewildered. He sat up and looked at Xie Yan, then picked up his watch from beside his pillow and looked at it. It was only a little past ten o'clock. They usually didn't eat at this time.

He asked in confusion, "Eating so early?"
