Chapter 240 Sent to the Hospital

Upon hearing this, the others smiled with a hint of teasing and said, "After all, he's a young man from the city, so it's normal for him to like causing trouble."

Their tone made it sound as if they were superior, as if they had been born this way and had never made a mistake.

Seeing that Yu Shan was leaving, they were reluctant but had no choice but to move.

A middle-aged man with a slicked-back, parted hairstyle greeted them warmly with a smile, saying, "Come on, come on! Let's go to my house. My kang (heated brick bed) is very warm, I guarantee you'll be comfortable." He then gestured for them to enter.

The others nodded in agreement: "Alright, let's go!"

After everyone left, Qian Hong went into the room, frowned at the pungent smell of smoke that filled the room, and raised her hand to hang up the curtain, wanting the smell to dissipate as soon as possible.

Looking at the messy, pigsty-like kang (heated brick bed), he sighed helplessly, resignedly climbed onto the kang, picked up the small broom, and began to sweep carefully, stroke by stroke.

Her eyes showed a hint of weariness and helplessness, but her movements were very efficient. In no time, she had cleaned up the soot and melon seed shells on the kang (a heated brick bed).

Then she picked up a broom and swept the floor carefully, leaving no corner untouched.

When Yu Shan arrived at Zhao Dezhi's house, Song Jianshe was still unconscious.

Zhao Dezhi had already treated Song Jianguo's head. Half of the hair on the back of his head had been shaved clean. After the medicine was applied, his head was wrapped in layers of white gauze, looking like a big white rice dumpling.

Song Jianguo lay there quietly, his face as pale as paper, devoid of any color.

The people waiting outside were restless, their eyes fixed on the tightly closed door. Every second felt incredibly long, like an eternity.

Seeing Yu Shan striding over with a dark expression, they seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, their tense nerves relaxing slightly.

Yu Shan glared at the group, his eyes filled with anger and reproach. He didn't have time to scold them at the moment.

He was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. This Song Jianshe was an educated youth sent to the countryside. If something happened to him, he, as the person in charge of the village, would be implicated!

Seeing Zhao Dezhi come out of the house, Yu Shan hurriedly went to greet him and asked in a low voice, "How is he? Why hasn't he woken up yet?" His voice was filled with undisguised anxiety, and his brows were tightly furrowed.

Zhao Dezhi shook his head helplessly, his face full of worry. "I hit my head. I don't know if I'll wake up or when."

As he spoke, he looked at the vast expanse of white snow outside. The snowflakes were falling heavily, as if the whole world had been covered with a thick white blanket.

Yu Shan gazed at the swirling snowflakes, his heart filled with worry. If it weren't snowing, they could get the person to the hospital much faster, but with the snow falling so heavily, the mountain roads would be extremely difficult to traverse. Carrying an unconscious person, they might not even make it to the hospital by tomorrow.

But it's not a good idea to keep this person from waking up.

An atmosphere of despair permeated the room.

The timid Wan Chun'er and Yu Zhen had already begun to sob quietly.

After thinking for a moment, Yu Shan gritted his teeth and made up his mind, saying, "If he hasn't woken up in two more hours, let's take him to the hospital."

After saying that, he turned to Zhao Dezhi and said, "I'll go and inform the young people in the village to cook now, so they can all have a bite to eat and get ready."

Zhao Dezhi took a deep drag on his cigarette, the smoke swirling around him. He slowly nodded; he was helpless in this situation.

There have been cases of head injuries in the village before, but the patients always woke up soon. This is the first time we've encountered someone like Song Jianguo who hasn't woken up.

When Yu Shan came out, he saw several people standing under the eaves. They all had their heads down and didn't dare to breathe.

Yu Shan looked at them and sighed again, "What a mess you've made of this!"

"I won't say anything to you now, but if something happens to the person inside, you'd better think carefully about what to do when the police come!"

As soon as she said that, Wan Chun'er felt her legs go weak and her vision went black. If Wang Xiao hadn't caught her quickly, she would have definitely fallen to the ground.

The others were also deathly pale, their lips trembling slightly. They had never imagined such a thing would happen, and their hearts were filled with regret and fear.

Wang Xiao was so angry that she almost ground her teeth to powder. Her face turned pale and red in turns. She felt both guilty and angry. She blamed herself for not taking good care of Song Jianguo and was angry at everyone for being so careless.

Seeing their reaction, Yu Shan didn't bother saying anything more. They were all grown men, not toddlers; they understood the้“็† (principles/reasoning). "Don't just stand there, go eat something. If he's still not awake in two hours, prepare to take him to the hospital!"

After saying that, he ignored them and strode away hastily. He needed to hurry back and eat something, otherwise he wouldn't be able to hold on.

The village of Xiliu was bustling with activity that day.

Every household had eaten dinner early, and those who had flashlights took them out, since they couldn't expect to get the person to the hospital today.

Everything was ready; they were just waiting for the appointed time to take Song Jianshe to the hospital if he hadn't woken up yet.

Two hours later, Song Jianguo was still unconscious, showing no signs of waking up.

Xie Yan stood to the side, his brows furrowed, secretly wondering, "Logically, this shouldn't be the case! Song Jianguo's injuries aren't that serious, are they? Could he have hit his head?"

But this was no time to think about such things. Everyone had already brought over the oxcart frame and laid several thick, soft, and warm quilts on it.

Then they carefully carried Song Jianguo to the car and set up a simple shed on it to protect him from the wind and snow.

A large group of people walked towards the county town.

The snow was still falling outside, the snowflakes fluttering down and stinging people's faces. The mountain path was rugged and difficult to traverse, covered in snow and mud, making every step extremely difficult.

They trudged forward, one step at a time, the cold wind howling, piercing through their cotton-padded clothes and making their hands and feet numb with cold, but no one complained, they all gritted their teeth and persevered.

And so, the group of people took turns walking all night before finally getting Song Jianguo to the hospital.

The hospital staff were taken aback when they saw such a large group of people arriving.

The doctors breathed a sigh of relief after understanding the situation.

After the examination, the doctor sighed deeply, a sigh that made Yu Shan's heart leap into his throat.
