Chapter 390 Zhang Linghui is pregnant

Gu Bin gritted his teeth, enduring the soreness in his arms, and managed to pull the snow off the eaves of the other two rooms.

Xie Yan couldn't help but laugh as he watched Gu Bin standing on the ground, secretly rubbing his arm to relieve the soreness.

After working together, the group cleared the snow off the eaves of the houses and then cleaned the yard thoroughly.

Xie Yan checked the time and the weather, and thinking that his wife was alone in the house, he said directly to Yuehua, "Brother, you stay here with my wife. I'll take a rake and go to Gu Bin's house to help clear the snow off their eaves."

As soon as they arrived at Gu Bin's house, he pulled Xie Yan towards the main room, saying, "It'll be quick to take her pulse before shoveling snow."

Xie Yan freed his arm, "Okay, okay, I know, let go first, I can walk by myself!"

Gu Bin glanced at Xie Yan, who was rubbing his arm, and said, "Then you'd better hurry up!"

At Gu Bin's insistence, Xie Yan took Zhang Linghui's pulse, but he didn't expect that Zhang Linghui was actually pregnant.

Moreover, she was already three months pregnant. She glanced at Gu Bin, who was standing nervously beside her, and smiled at Zhang Linghui, saying, "Three months."

Zhang Linghui was shocked and somewhat at a loss. She was sleeping soundly when she was suddenly unable to take his pulse. She turned her head and stared blankly at Gu Bin, "Last month?"

"What?"

Gu Bin stood rooted to the spot, his heart pounding with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. His eyes were fixed on Zhang Linghui as he slowly reached out his hands, wanting to gently embrace her, yet he hesitated, afraid of hurting her with even the slightest movement. His hands hung awkwardly in mid-air, unsure where to go. His voice trembled slightly, filled with barely suppressed joy, as he murmured, "You're pregnant! We're having a baby!"

Zhang Linghui seemed to have been struck by lightning by those words, remaining stunned for a long while before she reacted. Her gaze darted frantically between Gu Bin and Xie Yan, her eyes filled with disbelief, and she stammered, "I...I...I...I'm pregnant?"

Before Gu Bin could even nod in response, Zhang Linghui suddenly reached out and grabbed Gu Bin's shoulders tightly, shaking him wildly as if to confirm whether this unexpected good news was true.

Xie Yan looked at the two of them with amusement, marveling at how resilient the children were these days. They had stayed in Zhang Linghui's womb for three months without Gu Bin and his wife noticing.

It's quite amazing to think about it. In just one month, this little life has been growing quietly without its parents even knowing.

If it weren't for a joke I made today, these two probably wouldn't have realized it until their stomachs started pounding.

After his excitement subsided, Gu Bin helped Zhang Linghui into the house to sit down. Then, he grabbed a rake and climbed a ladder to run up to the roof.

Xie Yan couldn't help but chuckle at Gu Bin's expression.

This soon-to-be-born little life is truly captivating. Gu Bin, who had just been complaining about tired arms and being lazy about cleaning Fangshan Snow, suddenly seemed to have been given a shot of adrenaline, instantly becoming energetic.

He worked nimbly, as if he had inexhaustible energy, showing no signs of the fatigue he had felt moments before.

Only after all the snow on the eaves had fallen smoothly did Gu Bin gradually calm down his surging emotions.

He turned around, his face beaming with joy and pride, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Xie Yan, his voice filled with the delight and excitement of becoming a father for the first time, "I'm a father now too."

Xie Yan's face beamed with a sincere smile as he quickly offered his congratulations: "Congratulations!"

Gu Bin's lips curled up as he secretly leaned closer to Xie Yan, "Do you think my baby is a boy or a girl?"

Xie Yan's lips twitched, and he said incredulously, "You actually favor boys over girls?"

"You, Gu Bin, you look so handsome with thick eyebrows and big eyes, but you're actually this kind of person. How dare you go out and call yourself an educated youth?"

Gu Bin was so angry he wanted to punch Xie Yan twice. He pulled Xie Yan out while glancing back into the house. Seeing no movement from inside, he lowered his head and cursed, "Shut up! What nonsense are you spouting?"

"What did I do? Am I sexist?"

"Do you even have any sense of reason?"

Xie Yan slapped away his hand that was holding hers and took two steps back with obvious disgust. "What else do you want to say? You already asked about men and women?"

"Your words are exactly the same as those patriarchal old women in the village who favor sons over daughters. Isn't that obvious?"

Gu Bin, exasperated by Xie Yan, rubbed his forehead and said, half-laughing and half-crying, "Brother, I just wanted to know if the baby is a boy or a girl so I could prepare clothes for it!"

What are you thinking?

Xie Yan smiled calmly, "Oh! I see!"

"Don't worry about that. Young children don't have a sense of gender. You can wait until they are a little older before buying them clothes with a clear sense of gender."

Gu Bin sighed, "Just tell me if you can tell or not?"

He doesn't care whether the child is a boy or a girl, but his grandfather does!

The old man is really looking forward to his great-grandson.

Xie Yan smiled and shook his head, "No!"

Gu Bin: "..."

"Then what was the point of all that rambling on and on?"

Xie Yan patted Gu Bin on the shoulder and said earnestly, "I'm just afraid you'll go astray."

"I'm doing this all for your own good!"

"Look at my child, I'm about to give birth, and I've never even considered the baby's gender. You're not as thoughtful as me in that respect!"

Gu Bin chuckled, "You mean you don't want to investigate? You just don't have the ability, okay?"

Xie Yan shook his head, adopting a moral high ground, "Hey, your mindset isn't up to par. If I'm not good enough, can't I find someone who is?"

“I also have powerful backers.”

Gu Bin reached out to interrupt Xie Yan's long-winded speech and said seriously, "Alright, expert, I know you have a high level of thinking. Let's go, high-level expert, shovel snow!"

After saying that, he bent down and started shoveling snow.

After Xie Yan's complete victory over Gu Bin, he was in high spirits and followed behind with an iron hammer.

After shoveling the snow out of Gu Bin's house, Xie Yan was exhausted and didn't even have the energy to argue with Gu Bin. He slowly walked home, pulling his shovel along the way.

He was exhausted from shoveling and sweeping snow all morning.

After lunch, Xie Yan tidied up the furniture and was just about to lie down on the kang (a heated brick bed) to rest when he heard a loudspeaker outside calling for everyone to go shovel snow on the main road.

Xie Yan: "..."

They had already settled into a dream, but were abruptly pulled back to reality.

Xie Yan lay down on the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) with a resentful look on his face.

After venting to himself for a while, he calmed himself down so quickly that Yuehui didn't even realize he was angry.

The thought of the whole village going later, with so many people, made Xie Yan feel less tired.

She sat up, took Yu Yuehui's hand, and instructed her, "Mom will come over to watch over you later. I'll go shovel snow. Remember not to run around outside. After I finish shoveling snow, I'll check the road conditions. If it's okay, we'll go to the hospital today."
