Chen Yuan

Chen Yuan

After Sheng Yao sent this message, a cat was moved from one cage to another in the pet shop.

The little white dog is now locked in the same cage where he was at the beginning of the first day of the new year.

After agreeing with the store owner on the time to pick up Chuyi and the others in the evening, Ling Jianghan called Sheng Yao to ask where they were now.

But when he pressed the hands-free button, the person who answered the phone was Hu Chen: "We are in the temple over here, and that idiot Sheng Yao is hanging talismans on the peace tree."

Qi Wuchen, who was standing next to him, asked in confusion, "What are you doing in the temple?"

Hu Chen's side was a bit noisy, so he held the phone closer before explaining, "Isn't this joint exam difficult? The class monitor said the trees here can guarantee students will pass every exam, so everyone came."

Jiang Han was a little surprised: "Have you guys reached this point?"

"I don't want to come either." Hu Chen said helplessly, "But it's boring to go to the Internet cafe alone."

"Then send me your location," Ling Jianghan said, "We're at the west gate now. We can get there in a taxi."

After hanging up the phone, Hu Chen’s location was immediately sent over.

Ling Jiang Han stared at the location for a long time, then frowned unconsciously.

Qi Wuchen asked, "Have you been here?"

"No. It just feels familiar."

-

Originally they thought Sheng Yao and his group would be done once they arrived at the temple, but unexpectedly there were too many people there and less than half of them had finished hanging the talismans.

There weren't many temples in North City, only at the South Gate and West Gate. Ling Jianghan's home was at the North Gate of North City, so this was his first time visiting a local temple.

He had taken a look at the temple at the south gate on his way to see Ling Jingshan and Zhan Wanqin. There were crowds of people outside, which showed that it was very popular.

People in the north city don't worship gods or Buddhas, but there are several perennial banyan trees growing in the temple. Those who come to pray simply write their wishes on a red talisman and tie it to the tree.

But the red talisman isn't a paper talisman, but a red cloth strip hand-sewn by the elderly, blessed with great fortune and longevity. There's a small hole at the top of the strip, and people use red string hanging from branches to gently thread it through the hole, securing the talisman securely to the treetop.

If you want to pray, you must first write a talisman. Qi Wuchen and Ling Jianghan chose a place with few people to write it, and then planned to go find Sheng Yao and the others.

The two of them were standing at the table, bent over and halfway through writing, when Qi Wuchen suddenly raised his head and glanced at Ling Jianghan: "What wish are you writing?"

Jiang Han reacted very quickly and blocked it with his hand, then replied expressionlessly, "May you be safe every year."

"Oh." Qi Wuchen turned around and continued writing his talisman.

After writing the talisman, the two squeezed through the bustling crowd according to the message sent by Sheng Yao, and finally found Sheng Yao and his friends under a thousand-year-old banyan tree.

The team was quite large, and almost everyone in the class was here at the moment. Qi Wuchen saw the English class representative of their class at a glance.

Xu Yao, who was standing not far away, was holding a red talisman in her hand, and seemed to be thinking about which red string to tie the talisman to.

Two girls beside her tied red talismans and ran to another banyan tree. Qi Wuchen saw this and asked Xia Ran, who had just greeted them, with a puzzled look on his face, "Why are they going over there again?"

"Seeking marriage." Xia Ran usually has some knowledge in this area, and she felt a little proud when she was suddenly asked this question: "Of course I want to have a passionate love after the college entrance examination. Smart people have already gone to the matchmaker to plead for it."

"No." Ling Jianghan looked at her meaningfully, and said in a leisurely tone: "Smart people have already talked about it."

As soon as these words came out, Xia Ran's face turned red.

"Yes." Qi Wuchen was surprised by Jiang Han's surprising words. He laughed twice and said, "Smart people have already talked about it."

Jiang Han understood the implication of Qi Wuchen's words. He glanced at him with a slight movement of his eyes and stopped talking.

"Brother Chen," Sheng Yao's voice came from behind Xia Ran, "You two haven't tied the red talisman on yet?"

"Let's go now." Qi Wuchen said and raised his eyebrows at Ling Jianghan with a smile.

Ling Jianghan said nothing, took the red talisman and left with Qi Wuchen.

So Xu Yao behind them watched helplessly as Qi Wuchen led Ling Jiang Han further and further away.

It wasn't very far, but there was no distance between her and Ling Jianghan to exchange a few words.

She breathed a sigh of relief at the figure's back and began to concentrate on tying her own talisman.

Ling Jianghan over there picked up a red string and tied the talisman. He turned around and wanted to ask Qi Wuchen behind him if he was done, but a red talisman suddenly flew over and hit his forehead with a "snap".

After Qi Wuchen put on the red talisman, before he could tie it securely, Ling Jianghan in front of him was hit by the red talisman and gasped.

He quickly fastened the talisman, supported the back of Ling Jianghan's head with one hand, and gently stroked the corner of his right eye with the other hand. His voice sounded a little anxious: "Did you hit your eye?"

"No." Jiang Han subconsciously looked at the red talisman that hit him because of the wind.

Qi Wuchen was now very worried that his eyes would be injured again, but he immediately breathed a sigh of relief after hearing the answer: "That's good."

But he saw that Ling Jianghan's expression suddenly froze for a moment, and his heart, which had just been relieved, was instantly put back into the air.

Qi Wuchen stroked the hair on his forehead and asked softly, "What's wrong?"

To maintain aesthetics and for everyone's convenience, the red strings on each banyan tree in the temple were designed with a "long outside and short inside" pattern. Shorter people were tied to the outer circle, while taller people were tied to the inner circle. Ling Jianghan and Qi Wuchen were both in the inner circle at the moment, and the red talisman that had accidentally hit Ling Jianghan was also tied to the inner circle.

Ling Jianghan didn't answer, but reached out and caught the talisman that was still floating in the air due to inertia.

Qi Wuchen turned his head and looked as he did, and was stunned when he saw the contents of the red talisman.

The handwriting on the talisman was beautiful and neat, and it was obvious that it had been practiced. On it, with black characters on a red background, from top to bottom and from left to right, it was clearly written:

May Jiang Han be free from illness and pain, live a long life, and find a good man to accompany him throughout his life.

Zhou Yuyiqi

"Is that her handwriting?" Qi Wuchen asked after a moment of silence.

Ling Jianghan smiled and said as he let go, "It's her."

Zhou Yuyi is 1.88 meters tall, so he really should be hung here.

"Brother Chen!" Sheng Yao waved at them from a distance, "Are you guys ready? We should leave!"

"Okay." Qi Wuchen responded.

"They say handwriting reflects a person's character." Ling Jianghan said with a slow laugh as he followed Qi Wuchen towards Sheng Yao, "Now it seems that it is indeed true."

Qi Wuchen knew that he was reminded of someone by the sight of the object, so he smiled and said "hmm".

When they got closer, Hu Chen looked at Ling Jianghan with a slightly surprised expression and asked, "Jiang Han, why are your eyes a little red?"

Xia Ran, who was arguing with Sheng Yao, paused when she heard this and immediately turned around to look at him.

"Oh, yeah." After Xia Ran confirmed that she was not mistaken, she also asked, "Did Brother Chen make you angry just now?"

Sheng Yao, the fool, still didn't know the secrets between Qi and Ling. He couldn't understand why Qi Wuchen could make Ling Jianghan so angry. Out of curiosity, he looked at Ling Jianghan and asked, "Jianghan, are you angry?"

"No." Ling Jianghan only said: "I haven't slept well these past few days."

Xia Ran said "Oh" and said, "Then let's go. The squad leader and the others have already gone downstairs."

It takes half an hour to climb the stairs to reach the temple here. After climbing the stairs, you can take a break and buy something to drink.

Sheng Yao followed Xia Ran in front with a playful smile on his face, while Hu Chen consciously walked slowly behind Qi Wuchen and the others.

"Qi Wuchen," Ling Jianghan suddenly called out, "How old do you think these banyan trees are?"

"There are probably over a hundred of them, right?" Hu Chen, who was standing behind him, interrupted for once, his hands behind his head as he said, "I just saw a red talisman that's faded. Perhaps this temple is also quite old."

"Almost." Qi Wuchen paused, then turned to look at Ling Jianghan: "Have you thought of a name for the dog?"

"No." Ling Jianghan still said.

"Dog?" Hu Chen's tone was filled with shock: "You guys also have a dog?!"

Qi Wuchen also had a headache: "My dad gave it to me."

After going downstairs in a grand manner, the crowd went to a small supermarket on the street to buy drinks. Jiang Han wanted to buy a can of iced cola, but he had not taken two steps when Qi Wuchen grabbed him back.

He stood by and watched Qi Wuchen scan the code to pay, then obediently opened a bottle of mineral water and took a sip.

When Jiang Han saw the row of wine behind the boss, he suddenly had an idea.

After they all paid and came out of the supermarket, the person next to Qi Wuchen gently touched his arm and said something without context: "Qi Wuchen, I've thought of a name."

"Hmm?" Qi Wuchen knew what he was referring to and responded in a questioning tone to show that he was listening.

Then he heard Ling Jianghan say without hesitation: "Let's call it Maotai from now on."

Hu Chen, who was walking behind them and had just opened an iced Coke:?
