Xiao Wan
"Your name seems to be Xiaowan, right?" Ling Jianghan asked while wiping the hair of the little girl sitting on the sofa.
"No." The little girl stared down at her fingers and added softly, "I do have a last name."
"Zhou?" Ling Jianghan asked tentatively, "Or Gu?"
"My name was not given to me by Sister Yi and the others. My last name is Yun." Yun Xiaowan replied, shaking her head.
Until now, the little girl hadn't mentioned her parents, so Jiang Han chose to keep silent about it. He jokingly said, "Zhou Yuyi has the time to teach you so many things, why didn't he take the time to give you a name?"
"She came relatively late," Yun Xiaowan counted on her fingers, and after a while continued, "Well... when we met, Brother Yun had already given me a name."
"Brother Yun?"
"Yeah!" Yun Xiaowan nodded vigorously. "Brother Yun is very good to me. He comes to Yishan every weekend to bring me delicious food."
Ling Jianghan didn't deny it, but when he spoke again his tone was a little cold: "He's so good to you, why doesn't he come to see you?"
"Because... I made him angry." Yun Xiaowan lowered her head in frustration.
Jiang Han stared at the head indifferently, his voice becoming even colder: "Who would bother with a child like you?"
"That day... I saw a long scar on Brother Yun's arm. I was scared and ran away when I saw him."
"What kind of scar could scare you like that?" Ling Jianghan prepared to take her into the bedroom to dry her hair.
"Hmm..." Yun Xiaowan walked a few steps with him holding her hand. Suddenly, she stopped and pointed at Jiang Han's wrist and elbow, carefully measuring it up and down. "It's about this long."
"And then?" Ling Jianghan pulled her forward and asked, "Did he apologize to you?"
"No." Yun Xiaowan's voice suddenly became aggrieved: "Since then, Brother Yun gave the things he bought to the teacher and left without seeing me."
The more Jiang Han listened, the less favorable he became to this man. "He only knows how to deliver things, but he didn't even bother asking the principal and the others if you were still in Yishan?"
"Then the things were not delivered." Yun Xiaowan sat down on the bed and blinked at Ling Jianghan in front of her: "Well... Sister Yi said that he was sick, and after he recovered, he would transfer to Yancheng to continue his high school studies."
"High school?" Jiang Han was a little surprised: "When did this happen?"
"Four years," Yun Xiaowan said, stretching out four fingers. Her long sleeves gradually slid down as she moved. "I was in first grade then."
"Then he should be in college now." Ling Jianghan took out a hair dryer and started to blow her hair.
After drying her hair, Yun Xiaowan asked, "Will I never see him again?"
Ling Jianghan put away the hair dryer and was silent for a moment before answering the question: "If he is willing, you will meet again."
"The last time Sister Yi came to give us a physical examination, she said Brother Yun was busy overcoming the tribulation." Yun Xiaowan tilted her head and looked at him: "Brother Ling, what is overcoming the tribulation?"
"Don't listen to her nonsense," Ling Jianghan said helplessly, "I'm not going to become an immortal yet."
"What kind of immortal do you want to become?" Qi Wuchen's voice suddenly came from behind.
"No." Ling Jianghan turned around after hearing this: "Why did you come back so soon?"
"The mall isn't far from here." Qi Wuchen handed the bag to Yun Xiaowan: "Little girl, wear these clothes for now. We will take you to buy new ones in a few days."
Yun Xiaowan was now wrapped in Ling Jianghan's coat. Her previous clothes were dirty and thin, and were unsuitable for winter wear. Qi Wuchen had no experience buying clothes for girls, so he relied on the clothing store owner's advice to buy two sets of clothes for Yun Xiaowan.
"Thank you, big brother." Yun Xiaowan thanked him before taking the bag from Qi Wuchen's hand.
"Yes." Qi Wuchen said, "Change your clothes first. I have something to say to your brother."
Yun Xiaowan nodded twice and agreed.
Outside the bedroom, Qi Wuchen closed the door before asking in a low voice, "What did Yishan tell you?"
"To put it simply, Xiao Wan was adopted by a couple two months ago and has been beaten for a long time. She only found an opportunity to sneak away this morning." Ling Jianghan's voice was also very low: "She didn't dare to go back to her adoptive parents' home, and she didn't know where to go, so she had to hide in that alley."
Qi Wuchen frowned after hearing the first half of the sentence: "Why adopt a child if you don't like him?"
"I don't know." Jiang Han felt a little complicated, and replied casually: "Maybe he's having an illness."
As soon as he finished speaking, the door behind Qi Wuchen opened. Yun Xiaowan poked her head out and whispered, "Brother Ling, I've changed my clothes."
"Go to bed after you're done changing," Ling Jianghan's tone softened a little, staring into her big, dark eyes and saying, "Children who stay up late won't grow taller."
Yun Xiaowan leaned against the door without moving, looking at Ling Jianghan with eyes that were slightly watery: "I want to sleep with Brother Ling..."
Before Jiang Han could react, Qi Wuchen beside him said, "Then you and he should each cover yourself with a quilt. It would be very painful to catch a cold in this weather."
"Hmm?" Jiang Han looked at Qi Wuchen in surprise.
I haven't agreed yet, why are you making the decision for me?
"Also," Qi Wuchen squatted down and continued to talk to Yun Xiaowan, "Wrap yourself tightly when you sleep. Don't bother him tucking you in in the middle of the night, okay?"
"Okay!" Yun Xiaowan was afraid that they would go back on their word, so she nodded without hesitation.
"I thought you wouldn't agree." Ling Jianghan waited until Yun Xiaowan closed the door completely before speaking.
Qi Wuchen took a step forward and gently kissed the corner of his eye: "I'm not jealous of a little girl."
"Then go to sleep." Ling Jianghan lowered his eyes and stared at the Maotai lingering at Qi Wuchen's feet. He silently raised his foot and took a half step back: "See you tomorrow."
"Hey." Qi Wuchen suddenly took another step forward, grabbed Ling Jianghan's hand, lowered his head and asked with a smile: "Who do you like more, me or Maotai?"
Jiang Han was forced into a corner, his back pressed against the door, his head tilted away, not looking up at him: "Why are you competing with a dog for no reason?"
"Didn't you want to scold me?" Qi Wuchen lowered his head again, and his beautiful canine teeth gently rubbed Ling Jianghan's collarbone twice: "Ling Jianghan, don't think I don't know what you meant by that."
Hu Chen said that Ling Jianghan liked dogs, but Ling Jianghan asked Hu Chen which dog he was referring to.
I don’t like the four-legged Moutai, but I might consider the two-legged Qi Wuchen.
Isn't it just a roundabout way of calling Qi Wuchen a dog?
His Jiang Han is very smart.
"You deserve it." Ling Jiang Han still didn't look up at him.
"Yes." Qi Wuchen finally placed a gentle and lingering kiss on the side of Ling Jianghan's neck: "Go to bed quickly."
Only then did Jiang Han raise his eyes and stare at Qi Wuchen.
He didn't say anything, and Qi Wuchen smiled knowingly, lowered his head and offered his lips to hers.
Jiang Han tilted his head slightly, and the tip of his tongue was quickly retracted the moment it brushed across the other person's lips.
Qi Wuchen was not angry at being teased like this. He licked his lips with satisfaction and said to Ling Jianghan with a smile, "Good night."
After they returned to their rooms, Jiang Han discovered that Yun Xiaowan had also carried Chuyi into his bedroom.
"Sister Yi showed me its photo before," Yun Xiaowan stared at the white cat lying on the ground. "Is its name Chuyi?"
Jiang Han yawned and said "hmm".
"Oh." Yun Xiaowan stared at Ling Jianghan with a puzzled look: "Brother Ling, where is Sister Yi? I haven't seen her for a long time."
Jiang Han's sleepiness suddenly faded a little, but the emotion in his tone did not change: "Didn't the principal and others tell you?"
Yun Xiaowan shook her head blankly.
"Zhou Yuyi is no longer here," Ling Jianghan said after a moment of silence, "You won't be able to see her again."
"Why?" Yun Xiaowan burst into tears. "You just said that if Brother Yun is willing to see me, we will meet again. Then why can't Sister Yi?"
"Is it that Sister Yi doesn't want to see me?" Yun Xiaowan asked.
Jiang Han was silent for a while, and finally he let out a long sigh.
He turned off the light, and seemed to be a little sleepy again. His voice sounded a little weak: "Go to bed."
Yun Xiaowan felt a little disappointed, but she didn't say anything else. She just obediently covered herself with the quilt, staring at the ceiling above with blinking eyes.
After a while, Ling Jianghan's voice sounded softly again: "Sleep well, Sister Yi might be waiting for you in her dreams."
