Yishan
Ling Jianghan woke up at his computer desk the next day.
He only remembered that when he was halfway through doing the questions last night, his eyelids suddenly became unable to lift up, so he threw down his pen and lay down to sleep.
Ling Jianghan yawned, and his peripheral vision accidentally caught a glimpse of the notebook he had casually placed next to him last night.
A large area of the notebook was wet by the towel used to wipe hair. Jiang Han thought for a moment and then took the notebook and towel and went out.
After all, it was written by someone else with great effort, and he can't ruin it like this.
Ling Jianghan first hung up the towel, then placed the notebook on the small round table and pressed it with a teacup, and then slowly returned to the living room.
The bedroom door next to him suddenly opened, causing Jiang Han to look at Qi Wuchen while brushing his teeth.
Qi Wuchen inexplicably felt that this scene was a bit strange. After a moment of silence, he greeted stiffly, "Good morning."
Ling Jianghan was brushing his teeth and made a "hmm" sound while holding the toothbrush in his mouth.
"You got up so early." Qi Wuchen also squeezed toothpaste and prepared to brush his teeth.
After Ling Jianghan finished brushing his teeth, he said, "Feed the cat."
"Not eating breakfast?" Qi Wuchen looked at him with a frown.
"Do you want to have breakfast?" Jiang Han looked at him in surprise.
Qi Wuchen changed his tone silently, saying with a serious face, "I'm going to be very hungry if I don't eat a meal."
Perhaps it was because his eyes were too sincere that Jiang Han finally turned around and went into the kitchen.
Time was a bit tight, so Jiang Han fried two eggs and paired them with the toast Zhou Yuyi had just bought yesterday, quickly preparing a very simple breakfast.
Qi Wuchen took a bite of toast and swallowed it before asking, "Does Sister Yuyi often come to your house to bring you snacks?"
"It wasn't like this before." Ling Jianghan said as he stuffed snacks into his schoolbag, "After learning that my grandfather had passed away, she came every five days."
"Oh." Qi Wuchen finished his toast and drank a sip of milk: "You are a pretty good cook."
Ling Jianghan zipped up his schoolbag and glanced at him: "My grandfather and his family taught me."
“…”
You are bringing up things that are not relevant to the topic. Qi Wuchen, you have a really poisonous tongue.
Jiang Han, however, did not mind discussing this topic. He slung his schoolbag over his shoulder and began to change his shoes. "Where are you planning to rent?"
"downstairs."
"downstairs?"
Qi Wuchen tied his shoelaces and stood up. Facing Ling Jianghan's puzzled face, he added, "It's just downstairs from your house."
Jiang Han understood and said "Oh".
What kind of fate brings us so close?

When they arrived at the classroom, there were still six minutes before morning self-study. As soon as Sheng Yao saw them come in, he came over and chased Qi Wuchen to ask, "Xiao Jiang will be here to arrange the seats soon. Brother Chen, where should we sit?"
"We?" Qi Wuchen looked at him suspiciously.
"Yeah." Sheng Yao also looked at him strangely: "Didn't we sit together last semester?"
“This semester is different.”
"Huh?" Sheng Yao's eyes widened in surprise. "Why are they different?"
"I will listen to Xiao Jiang this semester." Qi Wuchen replied calmly.
Sheng Yao suspected his ears were broken: "What??"
Ling Jianghan entered the classroom and headed straight for his seat in the last row. When he was still a few steps away, Hu Chen called out, "New student, where are you going to sit?"
"Let it be." Ling Jianghan replied indifferently.
Then I'll just follow Xiao Jiang's arrangements.
Qi Wuchen has good grades, so he will probably sit in the front, and he and Sheng Yao can just sit on the side.
Hu Chen was just thinking about it when a classmate at the front door came to tell him that the head teacher had arrived.
Several people quickly returned to their seats, and soon saw Jiang Ning walking up to the podium with a seating chart.
Qi Wuchen supported his chin and looked towards the left window of the classroom, looking relaxed and contented.
In his previous life, Ling Jianghan liked to sit by the window and watch the seasons change. Now they were sitting side by side. Ling Jianghan could see the flowers, plants and trees outside the window by turning his head, and Qi Wuchen could see someone he hadn't seen for a long time by just tilting his eyes.
In the days to come, the sunset in Qi Wuchen's eyes will most likely show Jiang Han's profile.
So ten minutes later, Jiang Han and Qi Wuchen sat side by side in the two seats by the left window.
The moment they saw Ling Jianghan and Qi Wuchen sitting at the same table, not to mention Sheng Yao, even Ling Jianghan himself felt it was a little outrageous - how could they sit together?
After class, everyone in the classroom was busy moving things. When Ling Jianghan came over with the last pile of books, Qi Wuchen accidentally glanced at the draft paper on top.
"My deskmate, your handwriting is quite good," Qi Wuchen stared intently at the scrawled words on the paper. "Could you please copy a poem for me?"
Ling Jianghan: “?”
He looked at Qi Wuchen with an expression that said, "Did you take the wrong medicine?" After a long pause, he finally asked with a sour face, "Are you blind?"
Qi Wuchen, however, was still grinning and preparing to pick up the draft paper: "No, I really think..."
Ling Jianghan moved the pile of books back a bit and said, "Get lost."
Qi Wuchen was about to make a few more excuses when someone in front of him suddenly called out, "Ling Jianghan, someone's looking for you!"
Jiang Han stood up and left with an expressionless face. Before leaving, he crumpled up the draft paper and stuffed it into his pocket.
The person looking for him was Zhou Yuyi. The scarf around her neck covered most of her face, revealing only a pair of bright eyes as she looked at Ling Jianghan. She shook the two cups of hot milk tea in her hands and said, "I'm going to Yishan today, and I brought you some drinks on the way."
Ling Jianghan took the milk tea and asked, "Are you going to give free physical examinations to the children of Yishan Primary School?"
"Yes." Zhou Yuyi said, "It's time."
Yishan is a remote area, with relatively backward economic conditions and living standards compared to the city. Gu Yinglian, who donated several sums to Yishan Primary School, tragically passed away in an accident six years ago. Zhou Yuyi, through a strange combination of circumstances, forged a connection with the school: her medical team visits Yishan Primary School annually to provide free health checkups for the children.
"Yeah," Ling Jianghan said, indicating that he hadn't forgotten. "How long will it take this time?"
"At least a week, at most half a month." Zhou Yuyi looked at him with a smile: "After all, that's where Ying Lian stayed. I might stay a few more days."
Ling Jianghan was about to say something when a hand suddenly rested on his shoulder, and Qi Wuchen's voice rang out behind him: "Hello, Sister Yuyi."
Zhou Yuyi really liked the passionate and lively youthful aura of Qi Wuchen, and responded with a smile: "Hello."
"Your scarf is quite nice," Qi Wuchen said after examining it carefully. "Where did you buy it? I want to buy one for my sister too."
"I bought it online," Zhou Yuyi smiled a little embarrassedly, "Go back and add me on WeChat, I'll send you the link."
"Okay," Qi Wuchen took out the paper and pen from his pocket: "You write now, and I can add it later."
Zhou Yuyi was shocked for a moment before he reacted, took the paper and pen and began to write seriously.
She had just handed the paper and pen back when the bell rang.
Zhou Yuyi adjusted her scarf, then smiled and waved at them: "Then I'll be leaving first. See you later."
"Goodbye." Qi Wuchen said and went back to the classroom first.
Ling Jiang Han lagged behind him by two or three steps, and walked into the classroom while saying, "Goodbye, be careful on the road."
Zhou Yuyi waved at him again, then turned and left.
Just as he was about to step into the classroom, Jiang Han turned around without warning and glanced at the figure that was becoming increasingly blurred as it walked away.
He withdrew his gaze, returned to his seat before the teacher entered the classroom, and placed one of the cups of hot milk tea on Qi Wuchen's desk.
Qi Wuchen thanked him, glanced at the note Zhou Yuyi had written, and then put it in his pocket.
After that day, Qi Wuchen finally found Jiang Han's nemesis - this guy was not good at math.
And it's not just bad, it's not an exaggeration to describe it as "ridiculously bad".
It was difficult to start writing when doing math problems in class, so I started writing a draft right from the first multiple-choice question.
He even didn't plan to take back the math test paper assigned by Jiang Ning when he got home from school.
"I can't do those questions, so Teacher Jiang just asked me to do more basic questions when I get home." Ling Jianghan explained to him.
Qi Wuchen didn't say anything, but just silently thought about how to help.
Although he would have no problem supporting his future boyfriend with his eyes closed, Qi Wuchen still knew exactly what Ling Jiang Han wanted.
When they returned to the doorstep, they happened to run into a neighbor who was carrying a small suitcase and preparing to go out.
"Is it time to finish evening study?" The middle-aged woman with a kind face first greeted Ling Jianghan, and then smiled politely at Qi Wuchen who was standing next to him.
"Well," Ling Jianghan glanced at the suitcase in her hand: "Are you going on a long trip?"
"No," the aunt adjusted her reading glasses and explained with a smile, "My daughter wants to take me to live with her. She has already sold the house to another family."
Before Ling Jianghan could say anything, her phone rang at an inopportune moment. She fished out her phone, pulled her suitcase, and hurriedly said goodbye to them: "My daughter urged me to leave, so I'll leave first. See you again."
"Goodbye, Auntie."
After the neighbor disappeared into the corridor, Qi Wuchen asked curiously, "Do you two know each other well?"
"Didn't you see everything?" Ling Jianghan turned the key and opened the door: "As you can see, it's just a neighbor."
Qi Wuchen said "Oh" to indicate that he understood.
After Ling Jianghan entered the room, he picked up Chuyi, who had been waiting at the door for a long time. He lowered his head and stroked the cat's head a few times before asking the person behind him, "Do you want anything to eat?"
"Are you hungry?" Qi Wuchen asked.
"A little bit." Ling Jianghan raised his head and looked at him: "Would you like some egg noodles?"
"Eat." Qi Wuchen asked consciously, "Do you need my help with anything?"
Jiang Han subconsciously wanted to refuse, but when the words came to his lips, he suddenly remembered the notebook he had placed on the balcony that morning, and changed his words and said, "Please put the notebook on the balcony on the computer desk in the bedroom for me. Thank you."
Otherwise, I will probably forget about it when I’m done with my work.
Qi Wuchen said okay and turned to go to the balcony to get his notebook.
When Qi Wuchen saw the deliberately opened notebook on the balcony, he paused for a moment.
He stared at the handwriting for a long time, and finally took the notebook and left in silence.
After putting the notebook away, Qi Wuchen came out of Ling Jianghan's bedroom and saw Chuyi lying listlessly at the kitchen door, staring at the floor in a daze.
He walked over and tentatively poked the cat's head twice, but this time Chuyi didn't hit him with its claws.
This scene happened to be seen by Ling Jianghan who was inside. Ling Jianghan said to Qi Wuchen in a firm tone: "You are already half-acquaintance in its eyes. If you want, you can try to hug it."
"Is that so?" Qi Wuchen looked at Chuyi in disbelief, then stretched out his hands to it cautiously.
As expected, Chuyi still had no intention of resisting and lay in his arms very docilely.
It was Qi Wuchen's first time having close contact with an animal he disliked. He rubbed the cat's ears, then suddenly raised his head and asked casually, "Ling Jianghan, that's not your notebook, is it?"
