Chapter 13 First Kill

Pirates?

Or something else?

Xiang Sheng frowned, flicked his finger and sent out a gust of wind. The oil lamp beside the bed went out in an instant, and the room was plunged into darkness.

Many rooms in the lower cabin have small windows, but hers happens not to have one. The strength of the attacker outside is still unclear. If he breaks in and she is blocked in the room by him, the consequences will be unpredictable.

Thinking of this, Xiang Sheng did not rush out, but continued to listen for a moment, making sure there was no breathing sound outside the door. Then he reached out and gently lifted the bolt, opened the wooden door a crack, and slipped out.

The corridor was pitch black. Xiang Sheng took a deep breath and faintly smelled a scent of blood.

She raised her hand and touched the oil lamp on the wall; the lamp holder was still hot.

Without staying for too long, Xiang Sheng quietly and quickly escaped from the corridor.

As soon as he stepped onto the deck, Xiang Sheng saw two dark shadows walking towards him. He immediately dodged sideways into the shadow of the moonlight, holding his breath.

Two dark figures walked quickly past, their conversation barely audible.

"The boss said, kill them all, leave no one alive!"

"Has the captain been found?"

"I haven't found any. Let's kill the others first."

While the two were talking, they didn't notice any changes in the darkness behind them.

Xiang Sheng quietly followed behind the two of them, slowly pouring his true energy into the bone knife, condensing it without releasing it.

The cabin is divided into left and right, both of which are occupied.

When they reached the middle turning point, the two men really separated to kill people on the left and right. Xiang Sheng turned right and followed until the black shadow in front stopped in front of a door. Just as he was about to break in, suddenly, a cold light appeared behind him.

A flash of white light flashed as fast as lightning, and the sharp knife cut off most of the throat. The black shadow was caught off guard and died instantly.

Xiang Sheng promptly supported the man in black who was about to collapse, leaned him against the door, and then immediately rushed to the cabin on the left.

The man in black on the left had just broken into the door and killed one person when he saw a black shadow outside the door.

"Are you done so soon?"

After the man in black finished speaking, he immediately realized that something was wrong and was about to raise his sword to defend himself, but he was still a step too late.

puff!

The bone knife turned into a white light and flew out of his hand, instantly piercing into the black-clothed man's head from his eye socket. The powerful impact nailed his identity to the deck, making him deader than dead.

Xiang Sheng's face turned pale and he let out a long breath.

Excluding the man holding the knife, this was her first time killing someone, and she killed two people in a row.

The feeling of killing someone is completely different from killing a monster.

Without thinking too much, Xiang Sheng walked to the corpse, pulled out the bone knife, and left quickly.

Taking advantage of the moonlight and the shadows created by the cargo, Xiang Sheng walked around the first floor of the ship's corridor and saw no less than ten corpses. All the boat workers on duty were killed, but he did not see any other men in black.

The conversation between the two men clearly revealed that there were other accomplices on the ship, and that they were their leader. Where is this person now?

Thinking of this, Xiang Sheng looked up at the deck and took a deep breath.

The moonlight upstairs was bright, but there was no shadow or corner for her to hide. If there were too many people on the other side, going up would be tantamount to committing suicide.

Just jump into the river and escape?

Xiang Sheng looked into the distance, looking at the boundless night scene on the river.

There is a monster in the river, and everyone in Dushui City knows it. Only specially made boats can avoid being attacked. If she goes down, she will only become food for the monster.

After thinking for a while, Xiang Sheng's eyes showed determination. He lowered his head and gently wiped the blood off the knife, found an empty corner, and went upstairs.

The moonlight was pouring down the corridor upstairs. Xiang Sheng glanced at his own shadow under his feet, squatted down and moved towards the No. 1 room.

Not long after walking, an extremely strong smell of blood hit us in the face.

Xiang Sheng glanced up and saw the bodies on the ground. A rough count of at least twenty people was made. Some were from the black-clad men, and some were from the guards of the distinguished guest.

Xiang Sheng touched the corpse and found it was still warm, so he must have died not long ago.

Even though she was below the cabin, she shouldn't have been unable to hear any sounds of fighting, unless...

"...Butler, even if you kill them all... what's the point? Give up... you're still stubborn..."

Intermittent sounds were heard from inside the house. Xiang Sheng's heart moved, and he approached quietly until he stopped at the door. The sound suddenly became clear.

"This is Dushui City. There's a big monster in the river. If you let His Highness jump in, it will only lead to his death. Why bother?"

"Ahem... Commander Wang, don't forget, you are a guard of the Heavenly Family! Aren't you afraid of heaven's punishment for such treason and ingratitude?!"

"Hahahaha, divine punishment? What a joke!"

The middle-aged man threw his head back and laughed heartily, then his smile faded and he sneered, "The Lu family is the one who deserves divine punishment! All the benefits have been taken by your royal family, while we, the independent cultivators, have been labeled as running dogs and can't even get a sip of soup. You treat me so harshly, and you still expect me to continue working for you? Dream on!"

"……you!"

The old servant was so angry that he was shaking all over and couldn't speak.

The young man behind him was furious: "If you want to accuse someone, you can always find a pretext. When has my Lu family ever treated you harshly? You're just greedy and want the opportunity of my Lu family's ancestral land. Don't be so hypocritical! It's disgusting!"

The middle-aged man was startled for a moment, then burst into laughter, "Hahahaha... As expected of His Highness, your mind is very clear.

That's right! It wasn't until I arrived in Dushui City that I realized the opportunity to conquer the Lu family's ancestral land lies with you. If Your Highness is sensible and chooses to hand the opportunity over to me, I will spare your life."

The young man fell silent upon hearing this. After a short hesitation, he said, "Commander, are you serious?"

"Your Highness, this person must be speaking sweet words, don't take them seriously!"

Before the middle-aged man could speak, the old servant became anxious first. He ignored his serious injuries and stumbled towards the middle-aged man, shouting, "Your Highness, go find the captain. He must have a way to escape. I will buy time!"
