Chapter 149 Strange Land

"Ren'er."

Luo Qingyun called out weakly, and the moment Xiang Sheng looked up, all the coldness in her eyes disappeared.

She looked at Luo Qingyun's helpless yet loving eyes, tilted her head slightly, lowered her eyes, and whispered, "Great Elder, I want to talk to my mother alone."

Upon hearing this, the Great Elder looked at Luo Qingyun lying on the bed. Seeing her calm expression, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart, then stood up and left silently.

After the Great Elder left, Luo Qingyun's pale cheeks suddenly regained a hint of redness. She stood up and grabbed Xiang Sheng's hand with her backhand, and said solemnly: "Sheng'er, leave here quickly."

Xiang Sheng pursed his lips slightly: "Mom, what's wrong with you?"

Her voice was low and her expression was calm and steady, showing no sign of panic, which was completely different from the childlike mentality she usually displayed.

Luo Qingyun was anxious, but she didn't notice this. She held Xiang Sheng's hand tightly and said, "Don't ask too many questions. Just listen to mother and do it immediately..."

Before she finished speaking, her face suddenly turned pale, and she tilted her head and spurted out a mouthful of blood, staining the entire pillowcase red.

Xiang Sheng quickly dragged the falling Luo Qingyun to his side and pointed at her heart meridian.

A ray of sword intent immediately penetrated into the body from his fingertips, sweeping away the black energy that was rapidly invading Luo Qingyun's heart meridians.

Under such shock, blood began to flow from the corners of Luo Qingyun's mouth while she was unconscious, and her breath weakened at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Xiang Sheng reached out and wiped the blood ring, took out a gourd of Yuanquan and poured it into Luo Qingyun's body.

The warm medicinal power of Yuanquan spread rapidly as it circulated into Xiang Sheng's true essence. After a few breaths, Luo Qingyun's breathing became heavier and steadier, but it was still declining slowly.

Xiang Sheng frowned slightly, and his true energy flowed into Luo Qingyun's body through his wrist veins again, examining it carefully.

The moment she grabbed Luo Qingyun's wrist when she came in just now, she discovered the unknown black air flowing in her body, so she immediately sent the elder away to facilitate treatment.

But that sword strike just now had clearly cleared out all the black energy in Luo Qingyun's body. Why didn't she get better and was still getting weaker?

Xiang Sheng frowned, exploring inch by inch until he finally discovered a clue. He saw a wisp of black energy suddenly appear from the empty Dantian that his spiritual consciousness had probed. It then flowed upwards along the meridians, only to be destroyed by the remaining sword energy within them.

There weren't many strands of black energy, but they were endless. The sword energy was being consumed continuously, and it weakened in a short while. The black energy suddenly showed signs of reviving.

He turned his gaze towards Xiang Sheng, touched the bloodstain on the pillow with his fingertips, sniffed it gently, and his eyes narrowed immediately.

The aura of this black air was somewhat similar to the black tide of Ghost Stream, but it gave her a completely different feeling. However, if she was asked to explain the specific difference, she couldn't put her finger on it.

Her eyes flickered slightly, and her spiritual sense swept across the room. Seeing that the Great Elder was still sighing outside, with no intention of coming in, she immediately formed seals with her hands, and golden threads emerged from between her hands, eventually forming the word "forbidden".

After forming the seal, Xiang Sheng stretched out his right hand and gently pushed. The golden restriction rune immediately sank into Luo Qingyun's body and turned into a golden cage that locked her dantian.

The black energy was trapped in her dantian, and Luo Qingyun's breathing quickly returned to normal, and her pale cheeks regained some color.

Xiang Sheng breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this, but his expression did not look relaxed.

When she left in the morning, Luo Qingyun was still fine. The sudden burst of black energy must have been caused by some external factors that she did not understand.

Thinking of this, she suddenly remembered something and looked up at the great elder outside the house.

He also investigated Luo Qingyun and saw the black air, but he was not surprised at all.

Xiang Sheng narrowed his eyes slightly, and a guess suddenly emerged in his mind. He stood up and walked out of the room, came to stand behind the elder, and asked directly: "Elder, what happened to my mother?"

The Great Elder turned around and saw Xiang Sheng's forcedly calm face. He felt distressed and sighed deeply, saying, "Sheng'er, your mother...is probably not going to make it."

Xiang Sheng took a few more steps forward and walked to the side of the Great Elder. His tone was calm and without a trace of emotion: "Mom vomited blood, and there was black air in the blood. What is that black air?"

The Great Elder stared blankly at Xiang Sheng before him, feeling a sense of strangeness. The sweet and sweet voices of children in the classroom were still ringing in his ears, but today they sounded completely different, cold and numb.

This blow was too great for an eleven-year-old child.

He couldn't bear to hear this the most. His cloudy old eyes turned slightly red. He squatted down and said softly, "Don't be afraid, child. If mother is gone, you still have many brothers and sisters..."

"When have I ever been afraid?"

Xiang Sheng frowned, a hint of impatience flashing in his eyes, "Great Elder, I just want to know the origin of those black energy, don't you want to tell me?"

The Great Elder was stunned for a moment. He looked at the calm eyes that were frowning in front of him, and saw only a hint of impatience and displeasure, but not a trace of... sadness?

He was startled by his own thoughts and subconsciously avoided Xiang Sheng's eyes.

This little girl is only eleven years old. I'm afraid she doesn't know what vomiting blood means, or even what death is.

Yes, that must be the case.

Xiang Sheng saw through the Great Elder's thoughts at a glance, and immediately realized that it was because of his impatience that he had frightened the old man.

The coldness in her eyes faded slightly, and she added, "Great Elder, I saw that my mother looked much better after she vomited blood, so I wanted to ask about the origin of the black energy. If we can solve the problem of the black energy, will my mother be able to recover?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the Great Elder's expression immediately looked much better. It turned out that this was what the silly girl thought. No wonder she wasn't sad.

But if this child is contaminated with that stuff, the mother might not live for many days.

He hesitated for a moment, then decided to tell the truth: "Since you are curious, then I will tell you, your mother must have entered a strange place in her early years."
