Chapter 243 Looking at the knife

Blacksmith Chen looked at Li Changting blankly. He didn't recognize him. The blacksmith shop was bustling with people, and he had seen countless swordsmen over the years, so many that he couldn't remember their faces.

However, it would be rude to just say that I don’t remember.

Blacksmith Chen thought about this, scratched his head, and said suddenly, "Are you... the one who bought the sword last time?"

“Yes, yes, yes!”

Li Changting's smile grew wider. "I'm astonished that you still remember me, blacksmith. My last name is Li."

Blacksmith Chen smiled guiltily, "Brother Li."

"Boss, I'm feeling a bit cold, so I can't come out."

Li Changting took the things from Chen the blacksmith's hand and placed them by the door, while shouting towards the backyard, "Jian Jue, someone has a gift, take it in first."

Xiang Jianjue walked out with a puzzled look on his face, and was a little confused when he saw the situation at the door.

When Fengfeng saw Xiang Jianjue, her eyes suddenly lit up.

This brother is so handsome!

When Chen the Blacksmith saw another new face, a hint of vigilance immediately flashed in his eyes, and his voice became deeper: "Where is Boss Xiang?"

When Xiang Jianjue heard this, he didn't know how to respond for a moment.

The master lives in seclusion here and seems to get along well with these mortals. I must not reveal the master-disciple relationship.

But apart from "Master", how else can he address his master without being impolite?

Xiang Jianjue looked embarrassed, but in the eyes of Chen the blacksmith, he seemed even more suspicious.

His face turned cold, and he pulled Fengfeng back, "You two..."

"Boss Chen."

Suddenly, a voice came from the inner room, interrupting Chen the Blacksmith's words, "Jian Jue is my younger brother, who came from my hometown. Ahem... He is introverted and not very good at dealing with people, so please don't blame him."

After hearing this, Chen the Blacksmith's expression suddenly improved and he became happy again: "So you are Boss Xiang's brother. Why didn't you tell me before? It almost caused a misunderstanding. I'm really sorry."

Xiang Jianjue's head was buzzing with excitement when his master called him "brother", and he subconsciously replied "It's okay".

Seeing his dazed look, Chen the Blacksmith thought he was just not used to it and didn't care. He turned to look at Li Changting and asked, "Brother Li, how did you and Brother Jian Jue get to know each other?"

Before Li Changting could reply, a clear young girl's voice suddenly rang out: "I see. Uncle Li, you are Uncle Luo's distant relative, right?"

What relatives?

Li Changting was stunned for a moment, then he saw Chen the blacksmith also laughing: "It's you, I heard Sister Wang mentioned it. Are you here to see the results of the calligraphy workshop renovation?"

Li Changting's eyes flashed slightly.

The blacksmith had obviously misunderstood something, but it didn't matter. The "distant relative" was closer than the identity he fabricated, so he might as well go with the flow.

Thinking of this, he immediately smiled and nodded: "Yes."

"I didn't expect that Brother Li is not only good at repairing houses, but also a wandering swordsman."

Blacksmith Chen praised him, but his eyes were shining slightly, as if he had guessed something extraordinary.

Li Changting naturally noticed the strange look in Chen the Blacksmith's eyes, but he didn't bother to dwell on it. He simply said, "Speaking of swords, I have something to ask you. I wonder if I could bother you for a couple of days?"

"Live in my house?"

Blacksmith Chen looked puzzled. Luo Hai was next door, so why didn't this Li go live with his relatives?

Although he was puzzled, Blacksmith Chen was too embarrassed to ask, and simply nodded and said, "If Brother Li doesn't mind, you can stay wherever you want."

"Thank you, Brother Blacksmith."

Li Changting was overjoyed and followed Chen the blacksmith happily. Before leaving, he did not forget to take a provocative look at the cat's nest.

After everyone left, Wang Tuo immediately jumped from the cat bed onto Jian Jue's shoulder, cursing, "Jian Jue, this Li Changting is a despicable, shameless, and shameless scoundrel. If you dare to run away with him, I, your uncle, will immediately break off my friendship with you!"

Xiang Jianjue laughed dumbly, "Master has been so kind to me, how could I possibly betray him?"

"That's more like it."

Wang Tuo nodded with satisfaction, then added, "But if this fellow really wants to teach you swordsmanship, don't refuse. You'd be a fool not to take advantage of an opportunity."

Xiang Jianjue couldn't help but laugh, "I understand, uncle-master."

But Li Changting followed Chen the blacksmith back home. Fengfeng was quick and efficient and quickly cleared out a guest room.

The guest room was simple, but clean. Li Changting was quite satisfied and stayed there, not forgetting to pay money to Chen the blacksmith.

Blacksmith Chen naturally refused to accept it. He turned around and took Fengfeng to the blacksmith shop in front to work.

"Daddy, why did you take him in?"

Feng Feng pulled the bellows with one hand and couldn't help but look up and said, "I think Brother Jian Jue doesn't like him very much."

Blacksmith Chen immediately laughed: "That boy is worthy of being your aunt Sheng's brother. He really has a good appearance."

Fengfeng's face immediately turned red, and she scolded, "Daddy!"

"Hahaha, Dad won't say anymore."

Blacksmith Chen stopped laughing and said seriously, "I took him in because of your Aunt Sheng.

This man has a piercing gaze and a powerful build, and he came all the way here to escort your aunt's brother. He must be either a bodyguard or a servant."

"Bodyguard?"

Feng Feng blinked, "Does the escort even take care of the house repairs?"

"I can't say."

Blacksmith Chen stroked his beard and said, "I guess he is a guard of the Xiang family. Luo Hai next door has been guarding the empty house here for three years. He is most likely a servant."

Fengfeng suddenly realized, "So he is a servant, no wonder Aunt Wang

At that time, it was said that Uncle Luo was interested in Aunt Sheng, and Uncle Luo was so scared."

Blacksmith Chen hadn't expected this, but after Fengfeng's explanation, he felt that his suspicion was the truth, and couldn't help but praise, "Our Fengfeng is so smart!"
