Yandere is contagious

Yandere is contagious

Yan Kui became more and more confused as she listened. Shen Xiuyan used to be very good at putting on a show. If he was going out with Qin Yuan and other friends, he would report to Zhao Shuyi. And he would never go home after the agreed time.

In other words, if he's going out to play, he won't just disappear without a word.

Two days ago...

She recalled that when Shen Xiuyan suddenly appeared from the balcony at Xie Chi's house, he was carrying a bag on his back and looked like he was going somewhere.

"I can't get through on the phone, and there are no transaction records on my bank card. I'm going to call those acquaintances. You should ask your classmates and come back as soon as possible."

Yan Kui hung up the phone and collapsed onto the bed.

She was increasingly confused about where the plot was going.

But should we make the call or not?

She was conflicted. If Shen Xiuyan simply disappeared like this, her long-held wish would be fulfilled, but what if something really happened to him...

Several images flashed through Yan Kui's mind, including bloody scenes of various accidents, or the tragic scene of being tricked into donating a kidney or selling a liver. In an even worse scenario, given his face, it was possible that he could be abducted and become a tool for criminals.

When people are thinking, they tend to exaggerate their own subjective ideas. Yan Kui comforted herself that Shen Xiuyan would fight, but at the same time she continued to think about more serious situations.

Sigh, never mind, let's keep things separate.

She still couldn't bring herself to do it, even though it meant going against her original intentions.

Yan Kui diligently sent messages to Shen Xiuyan's usual friends, and the replies she received were all over the place. Some people honestly said they weren't there, while others were being generous and said they were there and wanted to stay at their houses for a few days. If she hadn't seen two classmates who lived on the east and west sides send a message saying they were there at the same time, she would have almost believed it.

After fiddling around for a while, she finally came to a conclusion.

Shen Xiuyan didn't go anywhere.

Left with no other option, she sent another message to Qin Yuan, who hadn't replied to her messages before. This time, he replied instantly.

As soon as Yan Kui saw the response, she immediately called him.

"Qin Yuan, do you know where he went?" Her first question after the call connected went straight to the point.

There was a moment of silence on the other end. Yan Kui sensed something was wrong and subconsciously asked, "Shen Xiuyan?"

Shen Xiuyan watched Qin Yuan frantically typing an apology to Yang Tao on the computer, then walked to the window, his tone even more puzzled than the person on the other end of the phone, "Did you need something?"

Hearing the familiar voice, Yan Kui breathed a sigh of relief. No matter what, it was good that the person was still alive.

"I have something to tell you."

"speak."

"I want to meet you and talk to you about it."

This time, Shen Xiuyan couldn't understand it. The vague fear Yan Kui showed when she saw him a few days ago was not feigned. He had already given her the space to live freely, so her wanting to see him now was really unusual.

However, only he can control the pace of the game.

Shen Xiuyan silently curved the corners of his mouth into a smile. "No."

He hung up the phone and tossed it to Qin Yuan, whose apology somehow turned into an argument. Qin Yuan was yelling and banging on the keyboard, almost dropping his phone.

"Yang Tao, don't touch my kitchen!"

Why should I tell you where he is?

"What nonsense are you spouting?!" He slammed his hand on the table.

Shen Xiuyan leaned back to avoid the pen cap that Qin Yuan accidentally flicked at him.

Qin Yuan stood up and said goodbye to Shen Xiuyan, "I have to go back first, I'm afraid she'll blow up the kitchen. Take care of yourself, brother. And hey, are you really not planning to go somewhere else?"

He glanced at Shen Xiuyan's somewhat gloomy and desolate residence, and something just didn't feel right. He had a feeling that hundreds of eyes were watching him.

"I won't die." Shen Xiuyan turned off the lamp on the table. "Perfect for making material for a horror game. Don't your fans love seeing you scream?"

Qin Yuan, looking slightly embarrassed, waved his hand awkwardly, opened the door, and left.

After he left, Shen Xiuyan looked around the apartment he had rented.

The location is good, the decoration is simple yet stylish, and everything is provided. Most importantly, the rent is very low.

It's obvious something happened in this house.

When he asked the landlord if the house was safe, the landlord gave a vague answer, which made him certain that he hadn't gone to the wrong place.

This is a haunted house. Every night around midnight, he hears a lot of those rumored scenes, like hearing someone crying downstairs, people outside seeing a shadowy figure combing hair in a bedroom that should be empty, or neighbors telling the cleaning lady that they've encountered something unclean. He's heard quite a few of these kinds of rumors in the last two days.

Regardless of whether there are ghosts or not, something definitely happened here, and someone may have died.

Shen Xiuyan had died twice, so his concept of death was not vague. Something might have happened here, but it was relatively safe for him.

He died twice.

Unlike Yan Kui's vague memories of suicide, he clearly remembered dying twice, and the manner and location of his deaths were completely different. The only thing in common was that his death occurred shortly after Yan Kui's accident.

Moreover, he was murdered intentionally.

Although the second incarnation had made some efforts, the results did not seem to be satisfactory, otherwise he would not have returned to June.

Shen Xiuyan turned his gaze toward the bathroom, where the door was half-open and it was pitch black inside, so he couldn't see anything.

He noticed it as soon as he arrived; the bathroom was exceptionally well-decorated, with almost every corner spotless.

In other words... the landlord thought the toilet wasn't very clean.

Of course, Shen Xiuyan didn't come here this time to risk his life in an attempt to explore the mysteries of the human world. What he needed was the story behind this room. It would probably be easier if the original owner of the room came out in the middle of the night to tell him.

After all, rebirth can happen, so many things are indeed hard to say.

He wrote a line in his notebook when he suddenly heard a knock on the door behind him. There were only two knocks, which sounded like a prank.

He put down his pen, picked up the knife on the table, and the blade traced a beautiful arc in the air before settling silently in his hand.

As he turned around, the person outside the door seemed to have struggled for a while before starting to knock again, this time with urgent and heavy knocking, as if reminding him to open the door quickly.

Shen Xiuyan approached the door and looked through the peephole. The lights in the hallway were off, and he couldn't see anything, but he still waited in front of the door.

His main concern was whether there would be any large, bloodshot eyeballs or something similar later on. If so, then the numerous paranormal events here would be explained.

At least, it was done by human intervention; if they caught them, they could ask them more questions.

But the scene he expected did not appear. The faint light from the phone illuminated the small space. The girl tentatively knocked on the door, and only after seeing the motion-activated light above her turn on did she turn her head, allowing Shen Xiuyan to see her face clearly.

Yan Kui?

Yan Kui, who was standing at the door contemplating life, glanced at her phone, recalling the terrified expression on the aunt's face earlier.

Building B, 20th floor, is that strange? Her expression made Yan Kui, who had initially believed she hadn't made a mistake, start to panic.

Fortunately, her panic didn't last long; that familiar face quickly dispelled all her doubts.

Shen Xiuyan opened the door, but made no other move, just quietly watching her.

Yan Kui felt a chill run down her spine under his gaze. When she first learned his address from Yang Tao, she was so surprised to find that they lived so close that she just threw on a coat and rushed out. Only now did she realize that there was still a conflict between them.

What's she doing here? Is she trying to persuade him not to be willful and to go home early? That would be rather ridiculous.

“Sometimes I’m really curious…” Shen Xiuyan leaned against the door frame, looking at Yan Kui’s suddenly tense expression, “Since you’re afraid of me, do you still have to tell me things to my face?”

"Who's afraid of you?!" Yan Kui recalled the bloody history of her repeated defeats in battles when she was a child, and the frustration of enduring being a well-behaved child for many years, so she lacked confidence.

The boy in front of her smiled. He usually smiled a lot—clean, polite, and sunny. But when he was with her, his smile always carried some negative emotions without any attempt to hide them.

"Are you really not afraid?"

Yan Kui subconsciously took two steps back. Some habits had become second nature, but she really didn't want to be so fragile as to commit suicide again. Thinking about it now, it still seemed unbelievable.

She mustered her courage and shouted those two words at Shen Xiuyan.

"I'm scared!"

This time, Shen Xiuyan was stunned.

I've never seen anyone express fear so confidently.

“I’m scared, I’ve been scared for over a decade.” Yan Kui stepped forward, looked up into his eyes, “But what’s the use of running away? I’ve not only lived a ridiculous life, but I’ve also died twice!”

She recalled her ignorant self from her previous two lives, whose mind was filled with love. She always believed that there would be a gentle and kind man who would shelter her from the wind and rain and soothe the fear that Shen Xiuyan had brought her. She thought Xie Chi was that man, but the ending proved that she was indeed just a silly student who was late in puberty.

Running away won't help; it will only isolate her from the world.

Rather than letting others heal her pain, it's better to confront her directly.

She looked at his face, her tone resolute as if she were about to die for her country, "You remember everything, so I'm here to reconcile with you."

Shen Xiuyan suddenly laughed and raised his hand to cover her forehead.

"Although it is not easy to get infected with viruses in summer, you should still go to the hospital in time if you have a fever."

Yan Kui came to see him with the mindset of facing death head-on. When she saw him making sarcastic remarks, she grabbed his wrist and said, "That's perfect for you to get infected. I've died before, so at least this time I have a choice."

Shen Xiuyan fell silent.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Yan Kui felt a sense of joy she had never experienced before.

So this is what it feels like to lower your standards.

"There are a few questions I'm also curious about." Her voice trembled slightly, her emotions unclear. "You put on this act in front of them just to gain Mom's trust? Wouldn't it have been easier if you had just kept lying to me? Why have you never hidden anything from me since we were little?"

Yan Kui didn't actually have the ambition to inherit the family business; deep down, she still longed to do things she wanted to do, just like her father.

Therefore, if Shen Xiuyan had treated her according to his public image since childhood, she would have liked this older brother as much as she did at the beginning. Even if he wanted the Yan family, she wouldn't have felt the rejection she has now.

Shen Xiuyan felt the warmth of the hand that was gripping her wrist; perhaps because she was too excited, her palm was somewhat burning.

He looked into Yan Kui's beautiful eyes, which were covered with a light mist, but her eyes were still bright and she was not bothered by this physiological reaction at all.

Shen Xiuyan has many things to consider right now, and answering questions is not on that list.

So he leaned close to Yan Kui's ear and, under her expectant gaze, whispered a sentence.

"You have no right to ask me."
