Yandere is contagious

Yandere is contagious

Shen Xiuyan paused his wiping of the cup, watching her quietly. Yan Kui hesitated for a long time, then wiped away tears from the corners of her eyes, saying sadly:

"She just wants you to come home."

Yang Tao and Qin Yuan were silent for a moment. Fang Ziqian was not quite sure what was going on, but he just cooperated with Yan Kui and said to Shen Xiuyan, "Dude, why are you still running away from home after graduation? It's not like you had to argue with your family."

Shen Xiuyan put the cleaned cups back, turned around and said to them, "There are a few of you here who haven't had your birthdays yet, right? If you don't leave now, I'll call your parents."

Fang Ziqian immediately jumped up and down: "No, it can't be that bad, you..."

"Alright, alright, alright." Qin Yuan quickly pushed him away: "I told you not to meddle in other people's business. Don't you know how terrible it is when siblings have conflicts?"

Yang Tao glanced over there and tugged at Yan Kui: "Then you two talk things out. I'll head over first. Call me if you need anything."

Yan Kui nodded, then turned around and sat down in the chair, saying to Shen Xiuyan, "Bartender, I'd like a glass... that one."

Shen Xiuyan glanced at her: "If I remember correctly, you're also one of those people who haven't celebrated your birthday."

Birthday, the mention of birthday, and seeing his face again, Yan Kui said irritably: "I can do whatever I want now. You want to complain? Fine, go tell my mom."

She emphasized the words "my mother".

Shen Xiuyan chuckled and started mixing drinks as she requested, saying, "You clearly want me to die out there more than anyone else, don't you? What, after being gone for two days, you've started missing me."

Upon hearing this, Yan Kui almost burst out laughing: "That's really funny. You've gone crazy working out there, so it's only natural that you'd die out there. Why would I waste my time praying for you to die?"

Shen Xiuyan poured in the base liquor, and facing Yan Kui's suddenly heightened fighting spirit, he said unhurriedly, "Oh, you've grown up now, you don't have to listen to your mother so much anymore. So what are you doing here looking for me?"

He also emphasized the word "mother".

"Don't you know perfectly well why I'm here?"

Yan Kui placed her hands on the bar counter, leaned forward, and moved closer to him: "We're all dead. I died on the night of August 10th. I don't know why you came back, but you should know more than I do. Given your personality, you wouldn't choose to commit suicide. So how did you get back, and why did I commit suicide?"

Although she couldn't recall many details of that night, after calming down these past few days, even if she had impulsively done something wrong to Shen Xiuyan that day, it shouldn't have caused her so much pain that she wanted to commit suicide. But the clearest memory she had was of herself holding sleeping pills. She couldn't understand it. Perhaps the owner of the last voice she heard before she died—Shen Xiuyan—could answer her question.

Shen Xiuyan did not answer her. Instead, he raised his hand, flipped the shaker, and shook it quickly. He was not deliberately keeping silent, but seemed to be thinking about what happened that day.

He remembered it, remembered it very clearly, because the same thing happened twice.

Thinking of those things, Shen Xiuyan's gaze gradually fell on Yan Kui's face again. Although he didn't say anything, this time Yan Kui felt an indescribable unease.

It wasn't the fear of the past, but a strange worry, as if hoping he would say those words, yet fearing he would remind me of those events.

Shen Xiuyan poured the wine into her glass, and just as he was about to speak after setting down the shaker, Yan Kui interrupted him, saying, "Let's not talk about irrelevant details here. I just want to know what state I was in when you last saw me?"

Shen Xiuyan looked quietly into her eyes, remained silent for two seconds, then suddenly lowered his head and laughed, "You don't really think I have the leisure to accompany you on your journey to find out the truth, do you? You should know best what you've done, right? Didn't the feeling of taking revenge on me that day feel more exhilarating than ever before?"

She longed to experience the exhilaration of revenge, but her memories were completely fragmented. She could only recall a few key moments, which were insufficient to connect the events of her two lifetimes.

"I will remember. Even if you don't tell me, I will definitely remember."

Yan Kui downed her drink in one gulp, stood up and said to him, "You can run away, which means you know you were murdered. Compared to my own choice, you had no choice. When you die out there, don't blame me for not helping you collect your body."

She had actually figured out some of the details herself, mostly through guesswork, but judging from Shen Xiuyan's reaction, maybe her guesses were actually correct.

Someone killed him, so in his second life he kept looking for that person. Although he didn't know why he also changed her life trajectory in the process, he couldn't change the fact that he died, so he chose to leave in his third life.

His decision to leave suggests that he likely suspects his family members. Regardless of whether they are the real killers, having such a hidden bomb in the house means she has to find a way to warn her mother.

Who are the family members?

There is Uncle Qin, the housekeeper who has worked for the Yan family for many years; Yunfei, the driver who is responsible for picking them up and dropping them off; Aunt Zhou, the cook who has only been here for a few years; Lan Xin, the gardener who comes regularly to trim the garden; and the maids Ah Xin, Ah Li, and Ah Yu who clean the house.

To be honest, looking at their faces, Yan Kui really couldn't doubt any of them. After all, they were people she saw every day and spent every day with. She found it hard to imagine that these people would want to kill Shen Xiuyan. Why would one of them want to kill him? Since Shen Xiuyan already knew the ending of his first life in his second life, why couldn't he still escape it?

Yes, she remembered. That rainy night was something that happened in her first life, and in her second life, she seemed to have died on a night as well, but not that one.

The memories of the two lifetimes intertwined, causing Yan Kui some confusion. She began to lose track of what happened in each lifetime, just as she couldn't tell exactly when the things Shen Xiuyan changed in her second lifetime occurred.

In his first life, when Yan Kui came to him like a madwoman to vent her frustrations, forcing him to take medicine and pouring water down his throat, and after she left, when he felt something was wrong with his body, Shen Xiuyan initially thought that Yan Kui really wanted to kill him.

But when he arrived at Yan Kui's room and saw her lying lifeless on the bed, he realized that Yan Kui might be more insane than he had imagined.

Before he could even react, he was struck hard on the back of the head and died that rainy night.

In his second life, Shen Xiuyan didn't want to repeat the same mistake, so he manipulated Yan Kui to avoid Xie Chi, preventing the latter from falling too deeply into his trap. At the same time, he investigated the truth behind his own death. As Yan Kui had expected, he also locked onto his family members and investigated everyone's basic background. Because the reincarnation restarted, there weren't enough clues. He continued his investigation while keeping an eye on his family members, trying to quickly expose Xie Chi's plan, and waited for the day when the accident happened in his previous life.

His change had a butterfly effect; Yan Kui left, and nothing happened that night. It was a rainy night, and he slept soundly.

Just a few days later, at Yan Kui's grandfather's birthday banquet, he had no choice but to attend because of Zhao Shuyi. He hadn't seen Yan Kui for a while, and the two had another argument about Xie Chi. Just like that rainy night, Yan Kui stormed off. When he realized something was wrong and went to look for her, she was lying quietly dead in bed. But this time, he sensed that someone had been in the room. When he tracked the murderer's trail to the garden, he was hit and killed by an out-of-control car.

It was in his second life that he confirmed that Yan Kui might not have committed suicide, and that the same might have happened in his first life as well.

In his third life, after confirming that Yan Kui had the same memories as him, he chose to do his own thing. He figured that even if he left, Yan Kui would come looking for him out of hatred, and he would be much safer when she was on guard.

Because of the death of the second incarnation, Shen Xiuyan suspected that there might be two murderers, and he highly suspected that Uncle Qin was present in both murders.

Aunt Zhou's family background is somewhat complicated, her living conditions are not good, and she and her husband are not loving. It seems that she came here only to make a living.

In order to better investigate their backgrounds and at the same time accomplish an important task that needed to be done, he chose to leave home.

Shen Xiuyan first investigated Uncle Qin, who seemed to be the most loyal. His family had also suffered a major tragedy a few months ago. His daughter was murdered a few months ago. He learned from the neighbors that Uncle Qin's daughter had a boyfriend before she died. Many police officers came on the day of the incident, but they have not caught the murderer yet. Many people speculated that the murderer was this boyfriend, but because of his unusual family background, he buried the matter quietly.

Then, under the guise of teaching piano, he went to Yunfei's girlfriend's house to be her younger brother's piano teacher. The boy quickly told him that Yunfei's girlfriend's family did not approve of his sister marrying Yunfei and had even scolded him to his face, implying that they needed money for the wedding.

He's now working at the bar where the florist Lan Xin frequents, and he hasn't heard anything about the florist since, but...

"What exactly is going on between you and Yan Kui?"

Aunt Zhou's voice, a familiar name.

"Don't even mention it. Everything was going so smoothly, but for some reason, Zhao Shuyi's adopted son suddenly showed up at our door, and Qingli even saw him. I'm lucky we didn't end up at the hospital."

Xie Chi.

Shen Xiuyan leaned against the wall, listening quietly to their conversation.

These two people had more or less crossed paths with him and Yan Kui, but they never imagined that they knew each other. Thinking about it this way, even though Yan Kui changed her plans, Xie Chi still met her just like in his previous life. Everything was planned in advance.

“I’ve known Yan Kui for a few years, and I know she’s easily moved to tears. Zhao Shuyi has been busy with work all these years, and she’s been starved for love and hates her nominal brother. So if you just wait a little longer and find an opportunity to reconcile with her, there’s still a chance.”

Aunt Zhou's voice began to sound increasingly unfamiliar.

Xie Chi's tone began to show some impatience: "It's already like this, how can she still trust me? It's all your fault for being so hasty, not waiting for me to finish dealing with the family matters before starting the plan, and now we're pleasing neither side."

Aunt Zhou became agitated upon hearing this: "Who am I doing this for?! Am I the one who benefits the most from being with her? Summer vacation is so short, if you don't get close to her now, when will you?! I told you to take your time, but you just took her home!"

Xie Chi sneered: "There's such a big age gap between us. Even if she's love-struck, do you think her/her mother is dead? I think she'd rather give her assets to her adopted son than acknowledge me. Your plan is unrealistic to begin with."

"It was the Yan family who acted unjustly first!"

Aunt Zhou's voice trembled slightly with a sob, but then it seemed as if she was choking on her throat, unable to utter another word.

After a long silence, she said to Xie Chi, "Never mind, I'll go back and think about what to do next."

Seeing her lowered head, Xie Chi sighed and said, "Sister, Yan Wenzhu is dead. You still have a child. Think carefully about your future before making any decisions."

He turned and left after he finished speaking, leaving Aunt Zhou alone on the spot.

Shen Xiuyan straightened up, lowered his hands which were clasped in front of his chest, and quietly walked away.

Xie Chi is actually Aunt Zhou's younger brother. These things are not coincidences. We must reorganize the clues by combining them with Yan Kui's experience.

Yan Kui's insomnia has worsened again. Since her rebirth, she seems to have never had a good night's sleep, not only because of the things that happened in the past, but also because of the confusion between her first and second lives and the present.

The only way to alleviate this situation is to get rid of Chen Xiuyan's irritation.

Seeing that familiar figure arrive once again, Shen Xiuyan almost wanted to turn his head away to avoid the other person, but Yan Kui accurately grasped the direction of his turn with a flash. Yan Kui leaned on the bar and raised an eyebrow at him.

"It's funny. You've always been a model student who followed the rules since childhood, but now you're going to bars every day. It seems you've learned a lot for your love life."

Yan Kui knew he was mocking her past drinking sprees because of the doctor. She used to be provoked by that, but now she was immune: "I'm not as good as you. Aren't you also a model student in the eyes of outsiders? But you got into fights in middle school. Do you think I don't know about those things?"

Shen Xiuyan frowned, as if he had thought of something. Yan Kui thought he was feeling guilty, so she pressed her advantage and told him to go home.

"You should go home. After all, no matter how arrogant you are, you still need an adult behind you. Without my mother, how will you continue to pretend to be someone you're not, right, student?"

Shen Xiuyan chuckled silently and said to her, "Have you thought this through? When I go home, you'll probably be back to living in fear and anxiety, right?"

Yan Kui gave him a provocative smile: "You can try. Anyway, we've all died once, so we're starting from the same point."

She leaned closer to Shen Xiuyan and whispered in front of him, "How will you know who's afraid if you don't try?"

Yan Kui seems to have really gone mad, but regardless of whether she is mad or not, Shen Xiuyan needs to go home.

He really needs to go back and do something.

Zhao Shuyi was overjoyed when Shen Xiuyan returned home, but their plans were soon disrupted.

"How long has it been since our family went out for fun? Let's go out for a drive this weekend."

"One family"—what an absurd way to address each other.

Yan Kui and Shen Xiuyan each had their own thoughts. Zhao Shuyi was sometimes like a tolerant adult, and sometimes like a selfish child. She only cared about her own happiness and never considered whether the two siblings really wanted to become a family.

Yan Kui found her mother very strange. Even though she was very sad when her father passed away, why would she adopt a child of unknown origin and then, like now, hook up with a handsome young man on the street and abandon the two of them?

Keeping the two of them around would only lead to mutual loathing.

"Hey, Shen Xiuyan." Yan Kui leaned on the railing of the stone bridge and said to Shen Xiuyan, "Actually, you've realized it yourself a long time ago, haven't you? You're actually sick, aren't you?"

She turned to look at her nominal brother, and sure enough, she heard him say:

"I think the person who is sick is someone else."

Yan Kui smiled and said, "I'm serious. After you left, there was a lot of trash left in your room—no, it should be one of my rooms—including your medical records. You're sick, you're really sick."

She looked up, her smile bright: "In that case, all the things you did when you were little, how you tried so hard to act like a normal person in front of Mom, but then you shook off my hand, killed my flowers, tricked me into stealing, and pretended to take care of me, were all because you were sick."

Shen Xiuyan placed his hand on her shoulder and said gently, "Kui Kui, if blaming all these things on me and saying I have psychological problems makes you feel better, then keep thinking that way."

Yan Kui laughed out loud, and the laughter grew louder and louder, even attracting the attention of those around her.

"Why are you putting your hands on my shoulders? Are you trying to push me down? And then pretend to jump down to save me, telling passersby that my sister is being unreasonable and has a bad relationship, and telling me to stop making trouble? Is that what you're doing?"

Yan Kui looked at Shen Xiuyan's face, and her smile vanished completely.

"If we're going to die, you should die with me."

As soon as she finished speaking, she grabbed Shen Xiuyan's hand tightly and jumped off the bridge.

As the two climbed ashore, soaking wet, they ran into Zhao Shuyi, who was walking along with the onlookers.

Zhao Shuyi crossed her arms and looked at the two of them, unsure of what to say.

If she hadn't known that these two were promising swimmers who had participated in competitions, she would probably be just like any other shaken passerby right now.

These two children look perfectly normal, but somehow they both seem to have some kind of problem.

Feeling a bit hungry after washing up at home, Yan Kui went downstairs to get something to eat. She bumped into Shen Xiuyan, who had just finished showering and was still drying his hair. The two stared at each other in silence. Just before Yan Kui turned away, Shen Xiuyan suddenly spoke:

"I'm going to see a doctor, do you want to go?"

Yan Kui paused for a moment, then snorted coldly: "Who wants to go? You're the only one who's crazy."
