Chapter 1076 Why Don’t You Leave

Chapter 1076 Why Don’t You Leave

The dead air in the warehouse finally began to flow again.

Everyone looked at Lin Dong as if she were a monster. Even those who were far away couldn't help but shrink back, trying to stay further away from her. Those who were sitting around a fire with her screamed and ran away, their broken voices filled with great fear.

People were buzzing and whispering like frightened mosquitoes, and the looks they saw everywhere were filled with fear and disgust.

But the girl seemed unaware of anything. She squatted down and wiped the blood off her hands with the clothes from the corpse. One by one, her fingers turned back to their white and harmless appearance.

After finishing all this, she sat down in her original position and took a rare look at the only person left by the fire.

"Why don't you leave?"

The doubt in his tone was as innocent as that of a kindergarten child, forming a huge contrast with his calm yet extremely cruel behavior just now, making it almost hard to believe that this was the same person.

But Rongzan only glanced at her, put away his obscure scrutiny, and said lightly,

"Why are you leaving?"

The girl seemed stunned for a moment, tilted her head in confusion, and looked at the people who were far away from her, as if she wanted to ask something, but everyone shrank back the moment they met her gaze.

He was trembling as if he had seen some ferocious beast and was trying to avoid it.

So she swallowed back what she was going to say and lowered her head to stare at the fire in a daze.

At the same time, in a dilapidated city less than five kilometers away from the warehouse, a whole line of military Humvees were driving almost silently through the empty and dilapidated streets.

In the back seat of the leading Hummer, the tightly closed windows were slowly lowered.

The night was pitch black, with only the dim, flickering lights of the shabby square illuminating a side profile with smooth and sharp lines.

He put a cigarette in his mouth and took out a lighter to light it.

The moment the fire lit up, the entire camera seemed to light up along with the exposed face.

This is a man.

A very good-looking man.

Just the simple action of lighting a cigarette, under the half-drooped eyelids, he looked particularly lazy and sexy. The slightly deep eye sockets cast a faint shadow. The naturally upturned corners of his lips and handsome eyebrows were made particularly elegant by such a lazy posture.

He held a cigarette in his mouth and slowly exhaled a cloud of smoke. Through the curling white mist, his expression seemed blurry.

The city was quiet, and the streets late at night were filled with the smell of stale dust and the stench of rotting flesh.

Occasionally, the wind would blow up some newspapers that had long been discarded on the ground, and they would fly into the sky, making the empty city even more desolate and silent.

When the convoy stopped in front of a department store, the driver said in a deep voice,

"Boss, it looks like we'll just have to stay here for the night."

The man scoffed, his lazy voice carrying a metallic, gorgeous, and slightly cool quality, which sounded particularly pleasant in the night.

"When did you come out this time? Didn't you just make do?"

He opened the car door with a click, and his long legs wrapped in camouflage pants stepped onto the ground easily.

The cars behind him also stopped. A tall woman in a white coat walked up to him and frowned slightly at the cigarette butt on his lips.

The light was dim, and the woman's eyes showed disapproval, yet she was still gentle.

The man shrugged, his charming eyes showing an apologetic smile, but he showed no intention of putting out the cigarette.
