Chapter 1830 Heaven

Chapter 1830 Heaven

She finally put down her hand, turned away her eyes and said with a choked throat,

“Humans are always like this. The more they cherish something, the more they fear losing it.”

What's more, you have experienced loss too many times.

Cheng Yuqing blinked his sore eyes, cleared his throat secretly and said,

"It's not worse than before, and now you have Shen Pianxian by your side. I'll prescribe some medicine for you to sleep well. As for the rest..."

After a pause, Cheng Yuqing said hesitantly,

"Or, you can choose to tell Pian Pian all of this. With her help, your condition should be more likely to improve."

"No need,"

The man rejected the proposal without hesitation. He looked at the rain outside the window with a somewhat cold look.

"It's okay for me to get wet in the rain alone, but she's better off staying in a warm house. It would be best if she never gets wet in the rain."

"That's it for today. She's still sleeping at home. She'll be anxious if she doesn't see me when she wakes up."

Cheng Zhiyuan stood up and turned to leave, but then he paused.

"I'll probably come less often in the future, except for the anniversary of his death. I'll leave Qingming Festival to you, aunt."

"Although it's very unfilial, Pian Pian will probably never come to see Grandpa."

He finally nodded to Cheng Yuqing, turned around and pushed the door open to leave.

How can it be called unfilial?

This cemetery where he is buried, this house that carries the glory of the Cheng family for generations and has nothing to do with you anymore, were all preserved by you with great effort.

The sound of rain filled her eardrums. Cheng Yuqing looked at the man's slender figure walking into the vast rain curtain, and finally couldn't help shedding tears.

"You're only twenty-seven, but it seems like you've already lost everything a human can lose in a lifetime."

She turned her head and looked out the window towards the cemetery, as if she was whispering to the old man who had fallen asleep.

"Dad, what have you done..."

·

When I returned to Peacock Residence, Shen Pianpian was still sleeping.

Cheng Zhiyuan opened the door quietly and went upstairs to the bedroom.

Unlike the wind and rain outside, it was warm inside.

The curtains were half open, and the glass blocked out the wind, rain, and noisy sounds, letting in only a faint stream of sunlight, which gently caressed the sleeping girl's face.

She looked like she was sleeping very soundly, her eyelashes drooping quietly, and the sheets squeezed out a little baby fat on the side of her face because she was sleeping on her stomach. Her pale pink lips were slightly pouting, and she made small breathing sounds from time to time.

Cheng Zhiyuan half-knelt beside the bed and looked at the girl's sleeping face for a long time in the daylight. After a while, he seemed to want to reach out and touch her, but halfway he saw the rain on his fingers, so he slowly retracted his hand, wiped the water on his clothes, and gently pulled the quilt for her.

·

When Shen Pianpian woke up, the sky outside the window was already dark.

She yawned and rolled over in the quilt, sniffing as she listened to the sound of rain outside the window.

"It's raining."

She slowly climbed out of the quilt, and her misty eyes were greeted by the equally dim and warm bedside lamp.

She squinted her eyes and moved clumsily off the bed, rubbing her eyes as she walked out of the bedroom barefoot.

The lights were on in the living room, and it seemed like soup was still cooking in the kitchen, with the aroma of pork ribs wafting through the entire house.

She took a deep breath and squinted her eyes with a satisfied expression.

"Where is Mr. Cheng?"

She turned her head and looked around, and when she saw the light on in the study, she walked over.
