Chapter 1842 Going to Find Changsun Qingzhao
Lian Tang seemed to have expected it when he was ordered to stop the car.
These days, seeing Xia Fuyi, who used to be more energetic than him, vomiting blood and falling asleep day by day, he has gone from being shocked at first to being used to it.
She was probably going to die.
Lian Tang thought to himself.
He had wanted to ask his master many times, but every time he saw the man's pursed lips and cold eyes, he closed his mouth involuntarily.
These few days were enough for him to put away his original sympathy or pity.
After all, after staying with his master for so many years and experiencing so much, he is no longer the kind and arrogant captain of the guards.
He was just a stranger they met by chance. If he died, he died. Haven’t they witnessed enough deaths so far?
Lian Tang parked the car on the side of the road while thinking this in his heart.
There happened to be a dilapidated temple not far from where they passed. He glanced over there and felt that someone with a pure heart like Xia Fuyi would be very suitable to be buried in a Buddhist land - even if this Buddhist land looked a little shabby.
After thinking this, Lian Tang turned around and lifted the curtain. The word "Young Master" that he was about to say was suddenly blocked in his throat by the scene before him.
His master.
The master who was pampered in childhood, unrestrained in youth, and cold and indifferent in adulthood, was now kneeling in the carriage, covered in blood, holding the girl in white.
Dim light filtered in from outside the curtain, illuminating the large bloodstains on his palms and chest. Set against his dark eyes and pale face as he turned his head, he looked so ghostly and captivating.
Lian Tang's heart tightened for a moment, but he soon realized that the blood-red words that made him nervous did not come from Li Chi's mouth, but from the girl in his arms.
She closed her eyes, her thick raven eyelashes drooped silently, and her deathly pale face was covered with the blood that had overflowed from her own mouth.
The blood flowed from her lips to her collar, staining a large area of her clothes red, until her neck was filled with this sticky liquid, and until Li Chi, who was holding her, had his hands covered in scarlet blood...
Lian Tang heard his master's voice, which was darker than usual and hoarse to the point of being uncomfortable.
"Take the military token and go find Changsun Qingzhao."
The man didn't even raise his head and threw something at him.
He stared at Xia Fuyi, who was still unconsciously vomiting blood in his arms. His whole body seemed to be shrouded in black mist, and his voice was deep.
"I want the antidote for Red Frost."
Lian Tang held the thing in his hand and couldn't believe what he heard.
So he asked in a very rude voice,
"Military talisman?!"
Is this the military token I was thinking of?
The next sentence was lost before he could ask it as Li Chi suddenly turned his head to look at him.
That look was so cold and indifferent that Lian Tang instantly broke out in a cold sweat and closed his mouth, answering hoarsely with a "yes".
He took one last complicated look at the girl buried in the man's arms in the carriage, lowered the curtain, and turned to leave.
·
Lian Tang didn't go far.
He walked into the woods that the carriage had just passed. Raindrops pattered down the dead leaves. The soles of his shoes stepped over the small puddles, creating ripples. The swaying water reflected Lian Tang's figure, which had suddenly become cold, hard, and full of murderous intent.
He played with the jade pendant in his hand for a while in the rain with mixed emotions. After a long time, he finally said coldly to the empty forest,
"Come out, I have something your master wants."
