Chapter 1871 [Shangxie] Eyes

Chapter 1871 [Shangxie] Eyes

A few more days passed.

On this day, it was time to change the medicine for the eyes, but Xia Fuyi still couldn't hear Zhan Luoying's footsteps.

She sat in the room for a long time, until someone came in and quietly lit a lamp, and she came to her senses.

The person who came to light the lamp retreated quietly, and within a moment, light footsteps were heard outside the door again.

The door creaked open again, and a faint medicinal fragrance filled the air.

Xia Fuyi moved her nose and calmed down when she smelled the scent of the medicine she usually used for eye mask.

For some reason, Zhan Luoying was not only late today, but also changed his usual habit of chatting with her and remained silent while changing the dressing.

The hand holding the soft cotton cloth gently wiped her eyelids, and after a moment, it wrapped her eyes layer by layer with the cloth strips coated with medicine.

The slightly cool skin accidentally touched her face, and Xia Fuyi's heart paused. She didn't speak until the hand wrapped the cloth around her and tied it lightly behind her head. Her tone was calm.

"Where's Luoying?"

The hand behind her head paused for a moment before tying the cloth belt around her again. A careless laugh rang out from behind her.

"I'm still wondering when you'll find out."

The man left behind her.

"Luoying is not here today, so I will do the work for him."

"Trouble you, Sect Master."

Xia Fuyi was very polite, but her tone was cold and emotionless.

The air in the room grew cold silently. The man began to sort out the medicines at hand while speaking in a rare cold voice.

"Don't worry, Miss Xia, this is just one time."

Xia Fuyi lowered her head and said nothing. She listened to the footsteps gradually fading away until the door slammed shut. Then she slowly raised her hand and touched the cloth in front of her.

Frowning slightly, the girl stood up with the help of the table and walked towards the bed with a rare look of annoyance.

After taking only two steps, she suddenly tripped over something and fell unexpectedly. She only managed to avoid falling flat on her face by reaching out her hands to support herself on the ground.

As she stumbled, she knocked over the candlestick beside the bed. The bright flame flashed under her eyelids, then swept across the carpet with a whoosh and burned fiercely.

The man who hadn't walked far away probably heard the noise, and the door was quickly opened.

"What are you doing?"

Xia Fuyi turned her head to look back, and the cloth strips that she had tied in a mess fell off, and the burning firelight reflected into her eyes. They were dark and blankly staring at the door, and her black eyelashes cast deep shadows on her snow-white face, which was extremely soft and harmless.

The question went unanswered, and the man didn't seem to have time to mind.

He walked in without stopping with a cold face, quickly bent down, picked up the girl and put her at the door, then turned around and went in to get the quilt and covered the burning flames directly.

The fire was out, but there was still some smell in the house.

He stretched out his hand to push the window before going out again. He looked at the girl standing in front of the door, who seemed to be still confused about the situation. After a moment of silence, he said lightly to the disciple who came to guard the Fuyi Pavilion,

"Until Miss Xia's eyes recover, there's no need to light the lights in Fuyi Pavilion."

The disciple agreed obediently, and the man turned and left without saying a word.

"Please come in later and I'll change your quilt."

After the disciple went into the house and looked around, he came out and said this to Xia Fuyi.

The girl nodded, and then she felt her way along the pillar as she sat down on the porch chair outside the door, and began to re-tie the blindfold strap herself.

The white cloth covered the eyes, and the black eyelashes drooped, covering the eyes that were shining with a hint of light.

A breeze blew in from outside the corridor, carrying the scent of night dew and woods, making the amber in her sleeve sway.
