Chapter 1883 [Evil] Portrait

Chapter 1883 [Evil] Portrait

The hall then fell into endless silence and darkness again.

The moonlight finally climbed to the top, and the window pane could no longer retain that ray of light, and it completely sank into the darkness.

He paused for a moment with his raised hand, and after a while, he finally put down the wine jar and slowly stood up.

The corners of the crimson robe brushed the ground, and the flying dragon outlined by dark gold threads flashed in the darkness and then faded away.

He turned and walked into the depths of the luxurious and empty hall, just like a flower branch returning to the darkness again.

This darkness cannot retain the moonlight, cannot blow in the spring breeze, cannot see the world, and cannot hear the whispers of the world.

It was a long, endless night.

It is a silent life sentence.

The prisoners lived in the pervasive aroma of wine, as if they were living in a black nightmare.

But no longer struggling.

·

When the dawn comes, all the darkness disappears.

Xia Fuyi spent a whole night drawing a portrait.

I spent another day repeating the process of drawing many more pictures, and another day posting those portraits.

Then began a long period of waiting and searching.

She kept a portrait and asked around. Although Miss Xia kept a cold expression when asking for help, she rarely met people with bad words because of her good looks.

But although most people were kind, she never got any useful clues. Most of the answers were "I've never seen it" or "I don't know." Until one day, someone looked at the portrait in her hand from left to right, and after a long time, he finally said,

"The person in your painting looks so weird. How can eyes be as big as rocks? No one will recognize him if you draw him like this."

The passerby who told the truth shook his head and walked away, leaving Xia Fuyi standing there in a daze.

She looked down at her portrait. Her eyes were clearly painted according to Amber. Was there anything wrong?

The girl in white looked bewildered in the spring sunshine of March in the capital.

·

The search went on like this for several days, until one day, the portraits that Xia Fuyi had modified with great difficulty were suddenly torn down by someone.

The angry Miss Xia raised her hand and grabbed a soldier, pushed him to the corner and asked him the reason with a cold face.

Coincidentally, that soldier was the one who had let her go on the day she entered the city. When Xia Fuyi pinched him viciously, the soldier's first reaction was not fear, but his ears turned red before he replied tremblingly,

"March 20th of every year is the day when the royal family holds a grand ceremony to worship the heavens. That time is approaching soon, and the entire city will be under martial law. Singing and dancing boats will not be allowed to operate at night, and nothing other than official notices may be posted in the city. Therefore, all these portraits must be torn down."

"Heavenly Sacrifice Ceremony?"

Xia Fuyi frowned slightly.

"Yes, the Heavenly Sacrifice Ceremony will be held at the Imperial Mausoleum in Huawai Mountain. Both the Emperor and the Regent will be there in person."

As he was speaking, the sound of loud horse hooves suddenly rang out in the distance on the street, accompanied by bursts of light shouts from the people, and the horses and carriages came rushing towards him.

Xia Fuyi heard the noise and looked back. In the flying dust, the team of black cavalry passed by her eyes. Among those cold profiles, she caught a glimpse of that elegant and noble face.

Xia Fuyi was stunned, and the hand that was pinching the little soldier couldn't help but loosen slightly.

The soldier didn't care about his newly freed neck at all, and continued to explain diligently.

"Speak of the devil, and he'll show up. That was the Regent who went on a southern tour last year. He must have returned for the Heavenly Sacrifice Ceremony."

"Regent...King?"

Xia Fuyi looked at the rolling dust in the distance, a look of confusion appearing on her face.
