Chapter 467: The pitiful boss
Shen Pianxian's first reaction was to refuse directly.
"You have a fever, why are you still playing..."
The following words were stuck in the man's drooping eyelashes.
His steel-blue pupils were half-lidded, and the feeling of loss emanated from every corner without him even making any expression.
Shen Pianpian: ...
Why are you pretending to be pitiful... Could you please maintain your majestic and indifferent image?
The girl choked and changed the subject.
"By the way, boss, why do you have a fever?"
"I don't know," the man said calmly.
"Maybe it was because of the rain yesterday."
Shen Pianpian: ...
"So who told you to leave the umbrella for me?"
The girl grumbled, but seeing the man's silence, she seemed a little reluctant. After a while, she finally said,
"Then wait for me."
She turned around and went back to her room, opened the door quietly and walked to the bed. Chu Yang was already sleeping soundly.
So Miss Shen walked out of the door slowly like a thief. She walked up to the big boss, took a look at his slightly sweaty forehead, and sighed.
"Let's go and ask the hotel if they have any medicine to reduce fever."
Cheng Zhiyuan looked at her and smiled.
·
So Miss Shen was quietly taken away by her boss, who was still running a fever, to go play in the city.
·
The wind carries the breath of the Tiber River, which has remained clear for thousands of years, through the streets and alleys of this ancient city.
Within the tall and ancient Aurelian Walls is a historic city area listed as a World Cultural Heritage.
Like all tourists who had just arrived, Shen Pianxian and Cheng Zhiyuan visited the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Arch of Constantine and other places.
During the trip, they kept passing by steeple churches of all sizes, and even happened to meet a newlywed couple.
Chen Pianxian didn't want to join in the fun, but who would have thought that the usually aloof Cheng Zhiyuan would actually drag her over to watch.
The entrance is right at the second-floor railing, and you can see the entire view below.
The skylight poured through the stained glass. The bride happened to be an Asian with black hair. She lowered her head slightly and looked a little shy. The white veil was blurred by the light, making her look sacred and beautiful.
The old priest in a black tailcoat was reciting the same old prayers.
"Mr. Fielding, are you willing to marry this lady next to you? Will you take good care of her, love her, and protect her from the wind and rain for the rest of your life? Will you not abandon her because of poverty, will not be alienated by age, will not be betrayed by others? Will you be loyal to her forever and never leave her?"
The groom was a blond European guy. He seemed a little nervous, his voice trembling with uncontrollable excitement as he said solemnly,
"Yes, I do."
The priest then turned to the bride,
"Miss Becky, are you willing to marry the gentleman next to you? Make him your husband, be filial to his family, make him your only lifelong companion, bear children for him, never abandon him because of poverty, never become estranged because of age, never be betrayed by others, and be loyal to him forever, never leave him?"
"Yes, I do."
"The vows are established. Now, in the name of God, I declare you officially husband and wife."
"Now please ask the newlyweds to exchange rings."
The bride and groom put rings on each other's fingers, then the groom lifted the bride's veil and the two exchanged kisses.
The sky was bright and the newlyweds looked incredibly beautiful in the light.
Shen Pianxian and Cheng Zhiyuan applauded along with the guests.
Amidst the friendly applause, the white doves in the square outside the window flapped their wings and flew into the sky.
Cheng Zhiyuan turned his head silently at this time.
The girl's smile was full of sincere blessings. Noticing his gaze, she turned her head and winked at him with curved eyebrows.
"Take advantage of the good fortune, and perhaps good luck will come your way."
The man smiled slightly.
With you here, I don't need any other luck.
