Chapter 1659: For a Roasted Rabbit
Xia Fuyi withdrew her gaze expressionlessly.
The woman in red snorted coldly and sat down by her fire.
The two people following her took branches, skewered a rabbit that they had shot at some point, and roasted it on the fire.
Xia Fuyi couldn't help but take a look, then touched her stomach, asked Lian Tang for some dry food and started to eat.
The woman in red who was waiting for rabbit meat not far away glanced over here and raised her eyebrows slightly.
After a while, until the aroma of rabbit meat began to slowly dissipate, Xia Fuyi only nibbled a little bit of the dry food.
She is not actually someone who cannot endure hardship, but when there is delicious and fragrant meat in front of her, the dry and tasteless food in her mouth becomes very difficult to swallow.
However, she didn't have too much time to chew on it, as the woman in red suddenly came towards them with a roasted rabbit.
Without asking anyone's opinion, she sat down next to Li Chi.
Xia Fuyi saw that she was almost touching the hem of Li Chi's robe, and immediately frowned, and her dark pupils began to turn cold.
The woman in red seemed to have not noticed at all. She just held the rabbit and spoke to Li Chi,
"You don't look like ordinary people. Where are you from?"
The man who was resting with his eyes closed opened his eyes and stared at the woman very quietly.
For some reason, that look clearly did not contain any coldness or command, but only a pair of warm amber pupils. The woman in red immediately shut her mouth, inexplicably feeling as if she had been warned by a superior.
She frowned almost reflexively, but in just a moment, the wrinkles were suppressed by herself.
With a cold snort as if she didn't care, she turned to look at the girl in white robe and said with an air of condescending to talk to her.
"He doesn't want to talk about it, so you should talk about it."
She shook the fragrant roasted rabbit in her hand and said,
"I'll give this to you if you tell me."
Xia Fuyi: ...
Do I look like someone who would betray...a friend for the sake of a gluttony?
This thought paused for a moment before Xia Fuyi hesitantly defined Li Chi as a "friend".
Although as guards, he and I should have a master-servant relationship, I didn't ask him for money. Should we be considered friends?
While I was thinking, the already tempting aroma suddenly became even stronger and rushed into my nose.
She looked closely and saw that the woman in red had already held the rabbit in front of her and was saying impatiently,
"Will you tell me or not? I see you're quite hungry too. If you tell me, I'll give you this rabbit to eat."
Xia Fuyi glanced at the roasted rabbit with burnt skin and flesh, licked her lips, and said with a completely indifferent expression,
"No."
"Li Chi."
Her voice rang out along with another deep and elegant male voice.
Xia Fuyi opened her eyes slightly and looked around.
The man in black leaned against the tree trunk, opened his eyes slightly, and looked at them lazily.
His lips curled slightly under the mask, and he repeated lightly,
"My name is Li Chi."
He raised his chin towards the roasted rabbit and said,
"Can I give it to her now?"
The woman in red choked suddenly.
She glared at the man fiercely and handed the rabbit to Xia Fuyi.
Xia Fuyi was still dazed looking at Li Chi. The man smiled at her and said,
"Eat, you're hungry."
Xia Fuyi took it with an inexplicable blush on her face.
