Chapter 97 Fire Baby, Do You Want It?

Chapter 97 Fire Baby, Do You Want It?

Neither of them spoke, and suddenly the only sound in the room was the ringing of cell phones.

Over and over again.

Xin Mian was stunned, and subconsciously asked, "Aren't you going to answer the phone?"

Chi Yu gave her a deep look, hugged her tighter, and slid the answer button with his other hand.

A steady yet warm middle-aged male voice came from the other end of the phone—

“Ayu, it’s alright if you don’t come to Ningcheng.”

"Dad is going to Yuncheng. If you're free these next couple of days, could you meet with him?"

Xin Mian looked up in surprise, but didn't speak. Instead, she asked with her eyes: Your father?

Chi Yu gently stroked her shoulder in response.

But he remained silent as well.

On the other end of the phone, Yan Bai wasn't angry that he hadn't heard him, and continued, "It won't take up too much of your time."

“I heard you brought your girlfriend over, and Dad prepared a gift for her.”

Can we meet?

When Yan Bai mentioned Xin Mian, Chi Yu's expression immediately turned cold.

"I'm busy."

"I'm busy, and my girlfriend is busy too."

"Just for a little while..."

Yan Bai continued to persuade him, "It won't interfere with your other matters."

"I'll hang up if there's nothing else."

"Hey, don't hang up..."

Chi Yu sneered, "We're not the kind of people who can just chat about everyday things."

After saying that, he hung up the phone.

Xinmian witnessed everything from the sidelines.

Because the two were so close, she could hear every single word her father said.

She instinctively wrapped her arms around his strong waist, and seeing his expression, she said, "Chi Yu..."

Chi Yu still had a forced smile, but this one was much more emotional than before.

He looked down at her and gently pinched the soft flesh of her cheek. "Afraid I'll get angry?"

"Are you worried that I'm in a bad mood?"

Xin Mian nodded and then shook her head, "I'm afraid you're in a bad mood."

Having been together for so long, Chi Yu's so-called cold faces and anger no longer had any deterrent effect on her.

She cares about him now, so she doesn't want him to be in a bad mood.

Chi Yu slowly leaned down, his long arm sweeping across her lower back, and pressed her forcefully into his embrace.

I lowered my head and took a deep breath of the scent on the side of her neck.

It was as if they were trying to draw some kind of power from her.

The two hugged for a while before he whispered, "My mother passed away when I was four or five years old."

"He was kidnapped, and the kidnappers killed him."

Those two sentences clenched Xinmian's heart.

She wondered if his family had similar problems as hers, whether he had been mistreated, whether he had been hurt...

I never imagined that his family members would die because of such a terrible incident.

Chi Yu's parents both came from well-off families. They met in the business world, admired each other, and became lovers.

After getting married, the two founded a company together, which is the group that Yan Bai is now in charge of.

The group was doing very well, but over time, their differing opinions on business matters became apparent, and they often argued because of it.

Just days before the incident, they had a heated argument over whether to acquire a plot of land in western Ningcheng.

Yan Bai felt the risk was too great and consistently disagreed, but Chi Yu's mother saw it as a good opportunity and could only keep trying to persuade him to agree.

After this happened repeatedly, Yan Bai became irritable and restless.

So, to avoid her, he flew all over the country for a period of time, constantly on business trips, thinking that he would go home once the land bidding was over and the die was cast.

Chi Yu's mother couldn't see him in person, so she kept calling him.

But later on, Yan Bai stopped answering her calls.

On the day of the accident, Chi Yu's mother went out as usual, but never returned.

Only Chi Yu and Chen Xiulian were left at home. At first, they didn't pay much attention, because when things got busy, it wasn't uncommon for Chi Yu's mother to not come home for two or three days.

But in reality, Chi Yu's mother was hit by a car and knocked unconscious shortly after leaving home, and was subsequently kidnapped.

During those two days, the kidnappers used her phone to make countless calls to Yan Bai.

Yan Bai didn't accept any of them.

When young Chi Yu realized something was wrong and followed her mother's phone's location system to find the place, she had already been beaten to death with wooden sticks by the enraged kidnappers.

At that time, the land bidding meeting had just ended, and Yan Bai had just gotten off the plane and returned to Yuancheng.

He was pleased with his meticulous "evasion plan" and finally agreed to answer the phone with Chi Yu's mother.

But what he heard was news of his wife's death.

He rushed to the police station like a madman. The autopsy report showed that Chi Yu's mother had been abused before her death, suffered multiple fractures all over her body, and the fatal injury was a blunt force trauma to the back of her head.

Police access to call records showed that during the two or three days she was kidnapped, the last hundred or so calls she made were all to Yan Bai.

But none of them were answered.

Yan Bai's hand trembled as he held the autopsy report. Chi Yu broke free from Chen Xiulian's embrace and rushed to him, her young eyes filled with anger and disgust.

"You killed Mom!"

It's easy to imagine that the family fell apart.

Chen Xiulian also couldn't accept this, so she took Chi Yu and left Yanbai and Yuancheng, and went to Wangshui Island.

He never returned to Yuancheng after that.

Yan Bai has lived with guilt and self-blame for so many years, always wanting to be close to his mother and son, but he gets the same result as Chi Yu's mother back then.

No relatives were willing to pay attention to him, and no relatives were willing to go back to visit him.

That's why his tone on the phone just now was ingratiating and humble.

Xinmian felt a lump in her throat and her eyes reddened as she listened.

Her slender arms tightened around him involuntarily, as if trying to comfort him, "Chi Yu..."

But she didn't know how to comfort him, so she could only try to stay close to him.

It seems he wanted to use his body heat to alleviate the pain of losing his loved ones in this way.

Sensing her frail strength, Chi Yu lifted her chin with his fingertips, meeting her gaze into her tear-filled eyes.

"Baby, do you feel sorry for me? Or do you pity me?"

"I..."

As soon as Xin Mian opened her mouth, his kiss landed on her lips.

Their lips intertwined, and his low, magnetic voice rang out, "It's alright."

"Whether you feel sorry for me or pity me, it doesn't matter."

Because whether she feels sorry for him or pities him, she will soften her heart towards him.

"Waaah..."

Xinmian's lips were sealed by his, preventing her from answering the question. Only low, intermittent sobs escaped her lips.

How could it be unrelated?

She had experienced the pain of losing loved ones, let alone him when he was so young.

The fact that his father was indirectly responsible for his mother's death was enough to leave him with indelible trauma.

His kiss was so deep and intense, as if he wanted to devour her whole, but she didn't struggle. Instead, she held him tightly and gave him the most passionate response.

In the quiet room, the soft sounds of kissing could be heard.

The tears that had been clinging to their eyelashes finally slid down, landing on their intertwined lips and tongues, where they both tasted the salty, slightly bitter flavor.

After the kiss ended, Xinmian leaned against his chest, panting, her cheeks flushed.

But she still didn't let go of his arms, "Chi Yu..."

She looked up at him, her misty eyes filled with determination, "I will stay with you, just as you stay with me."

"I'll always be with you."

Chi Yu continued to lightly peck at her lips, his dark eyes fixed on her, filled with intense and passionate emotions.

"Xin Xiaomian, you've long since lost your chance to back out."

"We can't be apart."

He won't be a bad person like his father, who only regrets it after he loses it.

Now that he's with her, he'll definitely hold her hand tightly.

I'd rather die than let go.

“Okay,” Xinmian nodded in his arms, then smiled through her tears, “We won’t be apart.”

"We will not separate."

She clung to him like a koala clinging to a tree trunk, unwilling to be separated from him even for the slightest moment.

The two hugged quietly for a while, then she asked softly, "You really aren't going to see your father, are you?"

Chi Yu looked at her carefully. "You want me to go?"

"no."

She immediately shook her head, "Whether you go or not, I'll go with you."

She just wanted to confirm that if he wanted to go, she would go with him and also tell the housekeeper who was supposed to clean tomorrow to postpone the trip.

If he doesn't go, then they'll go see the house his mother left behind as planned tomorrow.

Having experienced neglect and hurt from her own family, how could she possibly force him to see his father?

She couldn't do such a thing.

"Chi Yu, just follow your heart."

No one dictates that everything parents say is right, nor does anyone dictate that children must forgive their parents when they do wrong.

Nothing is more important than his own feelings.

She snuggled against him, using his chest for support, lifted her head, cupped his face, and pecked him on the lips.

It was a rare instance of him taking the initiative, and he even made a sound.

Xin Mian blushed as she looked at him, her tone very firm, "I believe in all the decisions you've made."

"I only care about your feelings; nothing else matters."

Chi Yu stared intently at her, his gaze deep and unfathomable.

He suddenly gripped the back of her neck tightly, and his kiss landed forcefully once more.

"Baby."

A surge of love transformed into the most passionate kiss.

Their breaths mingled, and they could smell each other's breaths.

Tender yet passionate.

The rain outside gradually intensified, and raindrops were seen sliding off the hotel's floor-to-ceiling windows, their shape distorted by the wind.

Inside the room, the temperature inside the blankets was gradually rising.

The bedding rustled as the man's strong chest pressed down on her, and the veins on his arms, which were holding her, were clearly visible.

The two were too different in size; she was practically locked in his arms, her slender waist light and supple in his palm.

The nightgown was slowly lifted, and a large, wheat-colored hand slid up her smooth skin, tentatively kneading it.

She didn't resist, but her breath caught in her throat, and she whimpered softly.

She then proactively extended her tongue, mimicking every kiss he had given her in the past, probing into his lips like a nimble yet timid little fish, teasing his tongue before shyly pulling it back.

But it didn't work out.

The man held her in his mouth, not letting go of any inch of her.

His kisses traveled down her chin, leaving a few marks on her slender neck, before lingering on her earlobe.

He was like a sleeping bag that completely enveloped her, trapping her tightly beneath him, his burning body temperature soothing her.

On a rainy winter night, the two of them broke out in a fine sweat in bed.

Xin Mian's cheeks were flushed, and her exposed skin was also tinged with crimson, like a delicate flower blooming in the dead of night.

The fire ignited almost instantly, carrying with it their deep and tender love for each other.

Chi Yu was breathing heavily and rapidly. Looking into her dazed eyes, he asked in a hoarse voice.

"Baby, do you want it?"
