Chapter 421 Ten Thousand Gold Arrives

"Alright, thank you then, Third Master."

Fu Wan thanked her again, and then took out several bags from her backpack.

These are dried sea cucumbers and shrimp that Ye Xiaocui dried, which she sent to her friends in Beijing.

And just like that, it came in handy.

Although Master Ning couldn't see what was inside, he could guess pretty much what it was just by smelling the faint fishy smell.

"Just give these things to Afu, and I'll have the kitchen cook them for me later."

"Comrade Xiao Fu, I would be even happier if you brought some ambergris next time."

The old man couldn't stop talking about ambergris, and Fu Wan truly believed he was an ambergris fanatic.

"Okay, okay, I'll definitely take a closer look next time and turn the sea over so I can bring you some."

Fu Wan's words made Master Ning burst into laughter. "Alright, I'll take it seriously!"

After saying this, the old man sat back in his armchair, leaned back, and closed his eyes to rest.

Qin Fu was clearly used to Ning Sanye's way of resting. After draping a blanket over him, he gestured with his eyes for Fu Wan to go out with him.

"Third Master is getting old now and said he needs to rest for a while."

We were lucky to catch him after he finished his Tai Chi practice; otherwise, if he had fallen asleep, we would have had to wait for him to wake up.

So that's how it is. Fu Wan followed Qin Fu out, and Qin Fu had her put the red stone and pink pearl back into the cloth bag.

"Now I'll take you to find Wan Jin. Let him sell the goods, but we also need to show them to him."

"When we're done, I'll take you to a real estate agency. By the way, Comrade Xiao Fu, I haven't asked yet, are you still planning to buy a house?"

Fu Wan didn't expect that her previous purchase of a courtyard house would lead Qin Fu to believe that she loved buying houses, but this misunderstanding was not a big deal.

The fixed assets she buys now are what she and her family will rely on for the rest of their lives.

"I'll buy it if the price is right!"

Upon receiving Fu Wan's reply, Qin Fu couldn't help but feel proud of his clever arrangement.

But he couldn't help but wonder to himself, when he mentioned Fu Wan's purchase of the courtyard house to Third Master Ning last time, Third Master Ning immediately praised Fu Wan for her good taste.

If it weren't for Master Ning's great power and extensive connections, he and his brothers wouldn't have been able to escape unscathed from the turmoil of more than a decade ago.

Even so, he still experienced days of hardship and displacement. Therefore, he always felt that money should be kept for survival, and as for housing, having a place to live was enough.

Therefore, he didn't quite understand why Fu Wan bought two courtyard houses but didn't live in them.

Isn't this a waste of money? Although this Comrade Fu is rich and willful.

But seeing that Fu Wan still insisted on buying a house, and with Third Master Ning's affirmation, Qin Fu also sensed something different.

Perhaps I could learn from this and use my spare money to buy a house?

Fu Wan naturally had no idea what kind of changes her actions would bring to Qin Fu; what she was thinking about now was how much money she should spend.

After turning through several alleys, the two drove quickly to a small courtyard full of ancient charm.

The alleyways were quite narrow, and if Qin Fu hadn't been a skilled driver, Fu Wan would have been worried that the car would have been scratched several times.

After parking the car, Fu Wan followed to a dark red door.

Qin Fu stepped forward and knocked on the brass ring on the door. The door knocker struck the wooden door with a dull thud.

Who is it?

"Uncle Jin, it's me, Qin Fu."

Not long after, the door creaked open from the inside, and a middle-aged man with an ordinary appearance but shrewd and bright eyes came out.

He paused slightly upon seeing Fu Wan, then smiled and nodded in greeting before turning to Qin Fu and saying:

"Ah Fu, what brings you here today? How has Third Master been feeling these past few days?"

Qin Fu cupped his hands in greeting. "Third Master, you are doing well. I came today because I have a distant relative here who brought some things over. Third Master asked me to show them to you."

Upon hearing this, Wan Jinlai quickly stepped aside, making a gesture of invitation.

"I was wondering why I saw magpies perched on branches and calling this morning. It turns out we have a distinguished guest at our door. Young comrade, please come in!"

Fu Wan smiled upon hearing this. This Wan Jinlai was about the same age as her father, yet he spoke very eloquently.

That makes sense; business people are bound to be good at talking.

After entering, Fu Wan realized that although the place looked small in the alley, it was actually only larger than her own large courtyard house.

Qin Fu had clearly been here many times before. He unceremoniously found a chair and sat down, then gestured to Fu Wan:

"Xiao Fu... don't be shy, have a seat. Uncle Jin is no stranger here."

He deliberately omitted the word "comrade" so that Wan Jinlai would not underestimate Fu Wan.

Seeing this, Fu Wan also found a place to sit down. Wan Jinlai did not neglect them and soon brewed a pot of tea and brought it up.

Judging from the aroma, it must be a good tea.

"Master, who's here?"

A soft female voice sounded from inside the room, and Wan Jinlai immediately softened his voice as well.

"Afu is here, he wants me to check on some goods."

After saying that, he explained to Fu Wan, "She's my wife, not an outsider."

Fu Wan nodded, indicating her understanding. Such a large place couldn't possibly be occupied by Wan Jinlai alone.

It seems his wife and children are still inside and haven't come out.

Qin Fu picked up the tea and took a small sip, then praised, "Uncle Jin, your tea is the most fragrant. You can't find such authentic Tieguanyin anywhere else."

Wan Jinlai glared at him and said, "Don't try that on me, kid. Third Master would never skimp on your tea. You're trying to cheat me out of my tea leaves? No way!"

Qin Fu chuckled and didn't say anything more.

Wan Jinlai, on the other hand, was as anxious as a fish out of water.

"Young man, what goods have you brought with you?"

Fu Wan glanced at Qin Fu beside her, and only after Qin Fu nodded did she take the things out of her bag.

The first thing to take was naturally the red stone.

She was now extremely eager to know Wan Jinlai's assessment of the item.

"I found this by chance. Could you please tell me what it is, Uncle Jin?"

She was about the same age as Qin Fu, so she naturally followed Qin Fu's lead and called Wan Jinlai "uncle".

Wan Jinlai didn't care about that; his eyes were instantly drawn to what Fu Wan was holding.

"This...this doesn't look like an ordinary thing!"

"Wait for me a moment!"

After Wan Jin finished speaking, he began rummaging through the cabinet next to him.

Not long after, they found a magnifying glass and a pair of white gloves.

He quickly put on his gloves, then carefully took the stone from Fu Wan's hand and examined it closely with a magnifying glass.

Fu Wan and Qin Fu, who were standing next to him, didn't dare to breathe too loudly, for fear of affecting his judgment.

"The veins are clearly visible under a magnifying glass, yet they feel smooth as jade to the touch. Judging by the color, this is probably something unusual."

He leaned in and sniffed it, adding, "Young man, this thing of yours probably isn't from land, is it?"

Fu Wan now truly believed that he was indeed skilled, and that she hadn't revealed where the items came from.

"Yes, it is definitely something from the sea."
