Chapter 245 Rescuing the Seals

The rescue operation was very successful. Fu Ming, as expected of the second pillar of the family, moved the reef and pushed it aside in no time.

The seal was completely unaware that the weight on its tail was gone and kept gesturing for Fu Wan to feed it fish.

Fu Wan received its message and went to the bucket to scoop out sea bass, but after touching it for a long time, she couldn't find any fish.

She turned her head to look, and there wasn't a single fish in the bucket, only some murky seawater.

That really is awkward.

"Sorry, we're out of fish."

Fu Wan smiled apologetically at the seal. Fu Liang, who was above, saw this and quickly called out to Fu Wan.

"Ah Wan, I'm going to ask Uncle for it!"

After saying that, he told Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu not to wander off, and then ran off to find Boss Fu.

Boss Fu was unaware of what had happened. After catching two groupers, all the fish that took the bait were sea bass.

Sea bass would be fine too. I can steam it at home and add some soy sauce; it will taste delicious.

He had no idea that his fish was being targeted. Just as Fu Liang ran over to take the fish away again, Boss Fu looked on with a puzzled expression.

"Your aunt and the others have already started preparing lunch?"

He thought Fu Liang had taken the sea bass to clean and give it to Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan to cook noodles.

Without batting an eye, Fu Liang scooped out all the sea fish from Boss Fu's bucket, except for the two groupers.

"Well, I don't know if Auntie and the others have made lunch yet. Uncle, good luck with your fishing, I'm rooting for you!"

After saying that, he picked up the bucket and ran away without looking back.

They were afraid that Boss Fu would stop them.

Fu Laoda felt something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He shook his head and picked up his fishing rod to continue fishing.

"Ah Wan, the fish are here!"

Fu Liang called out from afar, and then, when he got closer, handed the bucket in his hand to Fu Wan.

Fu Wan handed back the empty bucket she was holding, and saw that there were actually five or six sea fish in the bucket that Fu Liang had brought over.

"You're probably going to have a big meal now!"

She scooped out a sea bass and placed it in front of the seal. The seal eagerly snatched the fish into its mouth, chewed it a couple of times, swallowed it, and then looked at Fu Wan.

Fu Wan felt like she was a zookeeper at this moment, and resignedly handed over another fish.

"Awan, what should we do about the seal's wounds? Should we apply medicine to them?"

The wound on its tail was from being hit by a reef, and Fu Ming did have some wound medicine that he had gotten from Ye Jianguo a couple of days ago.

"Why don't we pour some for it?"

Looking at its bloodstained tail, Fu Wan felt a pang of pain.

Fu Ming stood next to the seal's tail, took out a medicine bottle from his pocket, and then sprinkled medicine on the seal's wound.

Perhaps due to the irritation of the medicine, the seal's tail twitched, and then it raised its head, only to find incredulously that the stone pressing down on it had disappeared.

Fu Ming thought it was in pain and was about to attack him. Fu Wan was also startled and quickly caught another fish to coax it.

The seal glanced at the fish in front of it, then at its own tail, and finally lowered its head to continue eating the fish.

Who cares? Food is the most important thing, even if the leopard is starving!

When Fu Wan had only one fish left in her bucket, the seal hadn't finished eating the fish in its mouth; it had bitten half of it and spat it back onto the reef.

Just then, it suddenly raised its head and stared intently at the sea. Fu Wan looked over in surprise and saw several black dots appearing on the sea.

Those are a pack of seals!

Its family has come looking for it!

"Brother, let's go! The seals are coming!"

Fu Wan threw the last fish onto the rocks and pulled Fu Ming up the slope.

Before Fu Ming could even react to what was happening, he followed Fu Wan up the slope where Fu Liang and the others were.

Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu were still watching the seal, and they were a little surprised to see Fu Wan come up.

"Mom, are we just going to ignore that seal?"

Fu Wan shook her head, gesturing for them to look at the sea.

"The seal's family has arrived."

"Wow, so many seals!"

Qin Mingzhu exclaimed in surprise, and Fu Ling also saw the seals climbing ashore one after another, but she frowned and looked somewhat disgusted.

"This seal is so ugly!"

Indeed, compared to orcas and dolphins, seals are not the most attractive type. Especially since some of these seals have uneven coloration and spots, they are not particularly appealing.

Perhaps hearing the sounds from the slope, the seals that had just come ashore called out twice in this direction. Afraid of disturbing them, Fu Wan simply pulled Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu toward the beach where people were gathering seafood.

Anyway, the seals have done their best, and the seal pack has arrived. Presumably, the seals can now return to their pod and are out of danger.

"Ah Wan, where did you all go? There are so many mantis shrimp here!"

Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan were bending down to catch mantis shrimp. They had just finished cleaning up the fairy shells when they unexpectedly found several more mantis shrimp in the mud and sand nearby.

Not only were they huge, but they were also very active. Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan had collected half a bucketful and were wondering where Fu Wan and the others had gone. When they saw them, they quickly called them over.

Fu Wan told Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu to play nearby and not to run to the reef and disturb the seals. Fu Ling rolled her eyes and pointed to the big tree next to them.

"Mom, let's go under the tree and collect some branches so we can cook noodles later!"

Fu Wan glanced at the big tree next to her. It was a huge mango tree, but because it was past the season, there were no mangoes on the tree, only green leaves.

There were indeed quite a few fallen branches under the tree, and seeing how eager the two of them were to try, Fu Wan simply let them go.

"You can only pick them up under the tree; you can't go far."

If those two kids were to sneak into the woods, that would be terrible!

Qin Mingzhu and Fu Ling nodded in unison, and Fu Ling even gave Fu Wan a strange salute.

"Yes, sir!"

Then he grabbed Qin Mingzhu, laughing, and ran off into the distance.

"Mom, these mantis shrimps look pretty big. I'll put a few in when I cook noodles later."

Ye Xiaocui didn't even look up. "Put it down, put it down. These mantis shrimps are quite big."

Fu Ming and Fu Liang also joined the mantis shrimp catching team, but they had to first shovel the mud with shrimp holes aside. Some mantis shrimp are cunning and can only be seen as holes when they burrow into the mud.

"These mantis shrimp are really smart, I'll have to eat a couple more later!"

Fu Ming wiped the sweat from his face; he was exhausted. This thing had gone way too deep.

Ye Xiaocui rolled her eyes at him, "You didn't even catch a single mantis shrimp. You've dug this hole for nothing."

Fu Wan was happy to watch the excitement, but her eyes were drawn to a strange stone next to her.

"Huh, is that a coconut snail?"

She picked up the conch shell; it was quite heavy and large. She held it up to compare it to her brother's head—it was bigger than his head.

Fu Ming couldn't help but roll his eyes. Just as he was about to say something, Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu ran over carrying something.

"Mom, look! We found a big bird!"
