Chapter 717 No need for a production line, just buy a factory
"So that means your production line is going to operate and be managed together with the production lines that have already been sold?"
"right."
Zhou Haoran thought to himself, their factory is a state-owned enterprise, and selling two production lines is because they want to increase revenue. Apart from canneries, what other factory would sell its entire factory directly?
Is working for an individual the same as working for the state?
"I'm sorry, I have no intention of buying this."
Fu Wan waved her hand and refused outright. She wasn't interested in either of the two production lines.
Zhou Haoran was caught off guard by the rejection. In his opinion, he had only approached the state-owned food factory's production line because of Wang Jianmin, yet this woman rejected him without even considering it.
Could it be that she resented that he, as the director, couldn't negotiate with her? But before he left, he clearly assured the factory manager that the products would be sold.
After all, their factory hadn't paid out their pre-Chinese New Year wages yet.
Thinking of this, Zhou Haoran's face instantly turned ugly. He looked at Wang Jianmin and said, "Jianmin, what do you mean by this...?"
Before he came, Wang Jianmin had told him that if there were no problems, they could sign the contract. He thought Fu Wan would be easy to talk to, but he didn't expect to be rejected.
Since they were at someone else's house, Zhou Haoran couldn't just lose his temper on the spot. Wang Jianmin waved his hand at him, signaling him to calm down.
"Factory manager, are we really not going to take this production line?"
To be honest, he inquired around the county town but couldn't find a suitable production line. It was only at this point that Fu Wan realized Wang Jianmin might have misunderstood her.
She picked up the thermos and added some hot water for them, then sat down and said, "Uncle Wang, Comrade Zhou, I did talk to the factory about expanding the production line."
But I cannot accept adding our production lines to other factories; it's not conducive to our management. In other words, I don't want to buy just the production lines; my goal is to buy another factory.
After saying that, she looked at Zhou Haoran seriously and asked, "Comrade Zhou, have you ever been to our cannery and seen how the cannery workers operate?"
Zhou Haoran nodded in confusion, "We've been there. We've bought your canned goods too." He was a little embarrassed to say that, because in fact, their factory manager had the idea of copying their products when they bought the canned goods.
Unfortunately, they later found that making canned goods was quite complicated, and they didn't have the funds to buy the necessary machinery, so they gave up.
However, Zhou Haoran had seen the cannery production workshop from afar. Everyone was wearing uniform work clothes, masks, and gloves, which was very hygienic.
Looking at their factory, although it's a food factory related to food, there's no uniform, and they only wear gloves when they remember to.
Fu Wan immediately knew that Zhou Haoran had guessed her reason for refusing, proving that he was indeed a clever man. Actually, besides the difficulty of managing the factory, another reason for her refusal was her distrust of the food factory.
If the production lines there become very busy in the future, but the food factory itself doesn't have any orders, the management will inevitably feel resentful. If something bad happens, their investment will be wasted.
She's not running a charity; she definitely needs to assess the risks before investing money. These kinds of risks, which are very likely to occur in the future, must be avoided.
Zhou Haoran wasn't stupid; he knew his two production lines wouldn't sell. He immediately stood up to say goodbye and leave, but Fu Wan thought about it and, out of respect for Wang Jianmin, gave him a glimmer of hope.
"Comrade Zhou, if your factory manager is considering selling the food factory, you can come and find me."
Selling a food factory? Are you kidding me! Zhou Haoran thought the young man was joking, but Wang Jianmin didn't think so. Why hadn't he thought of buying the food factory directly?
He wasn't bold enough. He knew the food factory's situation all too well. It was exactly the same as the cannery that was about to go bankrupt back then. First, they couldn't collect payments, then orders became scarce, and finally, they couldn't pay wages. The workers had no choice but to hurry up and find new jobs.
"Old buddy, you should go back and ask your factory manager. Maybe he really is planning to do that!"
"How could that be? We're a state-owned factory; we would never sell to a private individual!"
Wang Jianmin chuckled. "What state-owned factory? They'll behave themselves when they run out of money and all the workers' wages are paid out."
After Wang Jianmin and the other man left, Fu Wan closed the door and went to the old house. School had started a couple of days ago, and Qin Anning had also gone back to work, so they went to the camp early. Fu Wan was going to ask Boss Fu about going to sea.
The year has flown by, and with the weather looking good lately, I might as well try my luck at sea.
Pushing open the courtyard gate, Ye Xiaocui was mending fishing nets in the yard. Seeing her daughter come in, she looked up and asked, "Awan, have you had breakfast yet? There are still sweet potatoes in the pot."
Fu Wan chuckled, not daring to admit that she had overslept and hadn't eaten yet, and simply took out a bowl and filled it with some sweet potatoes.
"Mother, where did Father go?"
"Oh, don't even mention it. The weather's been nice these past few days, so your dad hasn't been doing any work at home. He just grabbed his fishing rod and went out early this morning."
"He fishes every day. If he doesn't bring any fish back by noon today, I'll give him a piece of my mind!"
Fu Wan finished a small sweet potato in two or three bites. The sweet potato was very sweet and had few fibers, but it was a bit dry and hard to swallow.
She went inside to pour herself a glass of water. Just then, Fu Ming came back carrying a few bamboo poles and a basket in his hand.
"Hey, Mom, Wan, look what I got up the mountain!"
"Hey, bamboo shoots!"
Fu Wan was overjoyed. Fu Ming proudly took out a few bamboo shoots from the basket, and then took something out of his pocket.
"Hehe, I have another surprise for you."
Fu Wan looked on in confusion. The thing Fu Ming took out was wrapped in a large, wide taro leaf, with a few withered grasses tied to it.
Fu Ming quickly untied the rope made of dry grass, then opened the banana leaf to reveal what was inside.
When Fu Wan saw what was inside, she felt a chill run down her spine and the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end.
Good heavens, it was a bunch of white, fat worms wriggling desperately.
"Brother, where did you catch those maggots?"
How disgusting! There's such a huge amount of it.
Fu Ming looked at her in surprise, then picked up a worm between two fingers and waved it in front of Fu Wan's eyes.
"Awan, what's wrong? These are bamboo worms! We used to go to the bamboo forest to dig for bamboo worms every day, you've forgotten!"
Fu Wan stared intently, and memories flashed through her mind like scenes from a movie. What Fu Ming was holding was indeed not maggots, but bamboo worms, their favorite food from childhood.
Since she had never seen this thing since her rebirth, she subconsciously assumed it was a maggot from the outhouse.
