Chapter 59 Holy crap, those are rat spots?

Fu Wan tossed the bucket and flashlight aside and reached directly under the rock with both hands.

The reef wasn't large, and the water below it was about knee-deep.

The fish was very agile. It struggled desperately when Fu Wan touched it, and its tail splashed seawater all over Fu Wan's face.

Good fish are not hard to catch. Seeing Fu Wan's actions, Ye Xiaocui knew there was something there, so she quickly came over to help move the rocks.

Once the rocks were moved aside, the fish had nowhere to hide. Fu Wan quickly reached out and grabbed its head like a pair of pliers, then swiftly threw it into the bucket.

"Is that a rocky staghorn?"

Ye Xiaocui gasped softly, then quickly shut her mouth.

Because they were afraid of attracting attention, they turned off their flashlights, so Ye Xiaocui couldn't see very clearly.

However, grouper is expensive no matter what kind it is, not to mention that the one Fu Wan just caught looked to weigh three or four pounds.

It struggles so hard, no wonder it's so hard to catch!

With an excited heart and trembling hands, Fu Wanxin followed Ye Xiaocui home, carrying her things with great satisfaction. If it weren't so late at night, she would have laughed out loud three times!

As soon as the two of them got home and put their things down, Fu Ming and Boss Fu pushed open the courtyard gate and walked in.

"Mother, Awan, how was your harvest?"

Fu Ming rushed in and immediately started asking questions.

Seeing his expression, Fu Wan knew they had made a significant gain.

"Brother, what did you find?"

Fu Wan was somewhat curious; it was her brother's first time going to the beach after recovering from his injuries, so she wanted to support him.

Boss Fu patted Fu Ming's arm, "You're over twenty and still acting like a child. Keep your voice down so you don't wake Lingling up!"

"I'm just happy!"

He lowered his voice, his face full of excitement.

Now Ye Xiaocui was a little curious and went over to look at what was in their bucket.

"Oh my, a tiger grouper!"

Tiger grouper is a brown-spotted grouper with an oval-shaped body that looks flat and stout.

Tiger grouper eat small fish and shellfish, so they have big mouths and sharp teeth.

Although this type of grouper is not as precious as the red grouper, it tastes very delicious when steamed, and the purchasing station in Fu San's area should be able to offer a good price.

Fu Wan looked over when she heard the sound, and lo and behold, it was a tiger grouper, weighing about two pounds, swimming around in the bucket.

When Ye Xiaocui saw the tiger-striped cat, she was reminded of the grouper that Fu Wan had caught, and she quickly closed the courtyard gate.

She glanced at it under the light of the house lamp, but wasn't sure if she was seeing things.

After all, the spotted mouse is extremely rare and valuable.

Seeing Ye Xiaocui being so cautious, Fu Ming couldn't help but feel a little smug.

"Mom, it's just a tiger stripe, there's no need to be so careful!"

Fu Laoda was too ashamed to look at his stupid son. Ye Xiaocui and he were both smart and capable, and even Fu Wan was clever from a young age. How come this stupid son was always so single-minded?

They can't even think straight!

He took a flashlight and shone it on the bucket next to Fu Wan. His wife was being so careful; she must have made a great discovery.

Seeing the half-full bucket of octopus, Boss Fu felt something was wrong. Fu Ming also came to his senses and looked into the bucket closest to Fu Wan.

"Holy crap, it's a spotted rat?!"

Before he could finish speaking, Ye Xiaocui patted him on the back, "Keep your voice down!"

Ye Xiaocui also took a closer look at the grouper. She was sure she hadn't been mistaken; it really was a top-quality grouper!

Boss Fu was also somewhat surprised, "Ah Wan, you actually caught such a big spotted rat, that's really impressive!"

Fu Ming was now completely impressed. He was so proud of himself for catching a tiger grouper, while his sisters hadn't even said a word about catching such an expensive rat grouper.

"Wan, you're amazing!"

After saying that, he didn't forget to give a thumbs up.

Fu Wan smiled smugly, but feigned modesty on her face.

"It's just so-so, I was just a little bit lucky."

Versailles, this is absolutely Versailles!

Even though Fu Ming wanted to roll his eyes at her, he held back. He had already replaced more than a dozen of those East Star Spotted cats last time, so wouldn't this Rat Spotted cat be even more expensive?

Excitement aside, we still need to take stock of the fish.

Ye Xiaocui and Boss Fu sorted out the food. Besides a small bucket of octopus, they also had a few blue crabs, two groupers, and about thirty or forty pounds of clams.

Oh right, and there are about ten pounds of oysters too.

Fu Ming even brought back a small bucket of seaweed.

He's the kind of person who plucks feathers from a passing goose.

Fu Wan took out the octopuses one by one and checked them, only breathing a sigh of relief when she confirmed that there were no blue-ringed octopuses.

Stir-fried octopus is also a very appetizing dish, especially fresh octopus, which is incomparable to the frozen octopus legs of later generations.

"Mom, how about we pick out a bowl of octopus and stir-fry it?"

"Pick out some clams too. Once they've expelled the sand, I'll stir-fry them and make them for Dad to have with his drinks!"

Clams are cheap, and Ye Xiaocui doesn't mind saving some to eat, but she's a little reluctant to part with the octopus.

However, seeing Fu Wan's expectant eyes, Ye Xiaocui couldn't bear to refuse.

Anyway, we have some savings at home. It's just a bowl of octopus. If the child wants to eat it, let her eat it!

Fishermen wouldn't be so hungry they'd die of cravings!

Fu Wan was delighted to receive the answer, and went to the kitchen to find a bucket and poured out some more clams.

Fu Ming stared at the grouper he had caught, feeling a little reluctant to sell it.

This is the only fish I've caught recently; it would be a waste not to eat it.

"Mom, how about I keep this tiger grouper for myself... Ahhh!"

Before Fu Ming could finish his question, Ye Xiaocui slapped him hard across the back. "Eat, eat, eat! What are you eating?!"

"Have you been eating less of the fish your sister catches lately? What's so great about tiger grouper? Wouldn't it be better to sell it and save the money for your wedding?"

Fu Ming stood aside, looking aggrieved. This tiger grouper wasn't even worth as much as an octopus; this was discrimination!

Fu Wan smiled secretly, and seeing Fu Ming glaring at her, she knew what he was thinking.

"Mom, let my brother eat it if he wants to. It's just a tiger grouper, it's not worth much!"

Ye Xiaocui didn't want to pay attention to them. She hadn't even finished eating the mackerel hanging in the well when this kid picked it for her.

Do you really think she's been in a better mood lately?

"Fu Ming, look at this slap I gave you, do you want to eat it?"

Fu Ming has been playing mixed doubles since he was a child. After being injured for so long, Ye Xiaocui was afraid that he would do something rash, so she always indulged his temper.

After so long, he had almost forgotten that his mother was not someone to be trifled with.

But he couldn't believe that maternal love had disappeared so quickly!

Fu Ming was still being stubborn, but when he caught a glimpse of Boss Fu glaring at him with a dark expression, that familiar feeling immediately made him back down.

"Mom is right, we have enough vegetables at home, let's sell them quickly. What are we going to eat? These tiger thorns have too many spines, I don't want to eat them at all!"

Fu Wan almost died laughing at how quickly he admitted defeat. Ye Xiaocui was also amused by him and put her hands down to continue tidying up the fish.

Looking at the happy family, Fu Laoda couldn't help but smile.
