Chapter 610 Tuna for Sale

Well, now everything's been exposed.

Fu Wan smiled at the stunned crowd, feeling so embarrassed she could practically dig her toes out of a two-bedroom apartment.

"Is this the lady from China who went fishing? How did she manage to catch so many tuna?"

"She probably didn't catch them all. Look at all these men here, how could she have caught them all? Maybe she just got an honor."

"Hehe, that's not very polite of you. I know these unlucky guys. They never catch any fish when they go out to sea. If you're so capable, why haven't you caught any tuna?"

There was a lot of discussion in the crowd. Although Fu Wan couldn't understand what they were saying, she could understand when they mentioned China.

"I'd like to ask, is fishing for tuna illegal?"

She was a little annoyed. She had been out all day and was hungry, even though she had brought some snacks with her.

With these people blocking the way, how is she supposed to get back?

"Violating the rules? Oh no, not at all."

A middle-aged man squeezed out of the crowd, his eyes gleaming with lust as he looked at Fu Wan.

“Beautiful lady, you’re amazing! We don’t have anyone this amazing in our town. Would you sell this tuna? I can offer a high price.”

Jack recognized the man and turned to Fu Wan to translate and introduce him.

“This uncle is William, the owner of the biggest seafood restaurant in town. If we sell our tuna to him, we can definitely make a fortune.”

After saying that, he winked at Fu Wan and Bai Qianzhou.

William looked at Fu Wan with hope in his eyes. Having been in business for over twenty years, he was naturally perceptive.

Although there were several men present, the one who could make the decision was definitely this woman.

Didn't you see those two gentlemen instinctively protecting the lady in the middle?

It's December now, and it's hard to find such fresh and high-quality tuna, not just in this remote town, but even in the most bustling parts of Los Angeles.

William was very confident that he could buy these tuna by simply raising the price slightly, and they would end up on the tables of the wealthy the next day.

In that case, he could make a fortune from it.

However, Fu Wan's decision took him by surprise.

"No, I'm not selling this bluefin tuna."

Fu Fengying had never tasted such a precious fish in her life. Since she was new to the area, Fu Wan thought it would be a good opportunity for them to try it.

Upon hearing this, William immediately became anxious.

"Madam, I'll offer you eighty dollars a pound. Based on the weight of this tuna, you can possess a substantial fortune!"

After William finished speaking, Bai Qianzhou thoughtfully translated it for Fu Wan.

Jack could only glare angrily as his life was stolen from him.

“Wan, the pound here is different from the jin in China. As far as I know, the jin in your country is more.”

Jack gestured to Fu Wan, saying that, to be honest, he preferred to sell the fish.

At eighty dollars a pound, this fish can be exchanged for at least two thousand dollars. Two thousand dollars is almost a year and a half's salary for Jack.

This is even with him working two jobs a day.

Fu Wan was a little confused by what was said, but Bai Qianzhou, who was next to her, quickly explained it to her.

"According to the units of measurement in the United States and China, one pound is about 464 grams, or 9 liang."

Fu Wan understood after hearing this, but she still didn't intend to change her decision.

"I'm not selling this fish. You two can decide for yourselves."

Seeing that Fu Wan had made up her mind, Jack stopped trying to persuade her.

He spread his hands toward William, "I'm sorry, Mr. William, we don't sell this bluefin tuna."

However, if you're interested, I can discuss this yellowfin tuna with you.

William was somewhat disappointed upon hearing this; it was the first time he had ever seen someone so nonchalant in the face of so much money.

Yellowfin fins are fine, they're better than nothing.

“Little guy, you know yellowfin tuna is cheaper. Let me think, considering how lucky we are tonight, how about... $20 a pound?”

Upon hearing this, Jack gasped.

I knew there was a big difference between bluefin and yellowfin, but this is way too big!

"Mr. William, can't we have some more?"

Now it's Jack's turn to be looking forward to it.

Fu Wan's eyes darted around, and another idea came to her mind.

She turned her head and asked Bai Qianzhou, "Are you selling this fish?"

"Sell it, otherwise what would I do with it? Or maybe I should take it back with me?"

"What a joke! This fish weighs dozens of pounds, enough for my family to eat."

With bluefin tuna available, who would still eat yellowfin tuna?

"Then let's sell them together."

After receiving Bai Qianzhou's reply, Fu Wan pulled Jack aside again.

"Tell that guy you'll sell him both yellowfin tuna for $22 a pound, how about that?"

Finally, Fu Wan thought for a moment and added, "If that doesn't work, we'll drive to Los Angeles to sell it tomorrow; there's sure someone will buy it."

Upon hearing this, Jack instinctively translated it to William. William, upon hearing that both yellowfin lances would be sold to him, hesitated for two minutes before agreeing to Fu Wan's proposal.

Actually, it's because Fu Wan's price was just right; if it had been any higher, William wouldn't have made much money.

After all, while restaurants can earn a lot, Los Angeles also has its share of miscellaneous taxes.

Once the deal was done, someone immediately brought over the scales. Seeing that everyone was gathered around and hadn't left, the landlord Bob had a sudden idea and immediately started promoting the deal.

"Ladies and gentlemen, these fish were all caught by renting my boat. If you go out to sea, you can also rent my boat!"

Why not take advantage of this readily available advertising opportunity? Bob may have quite a few boats, but he's not the only landlord here.

Seeing this, Fu Wan was also impressed. Look how quick-witted he is! Otherwise, how could he have become a landlord!

Sure enough, quite a few people were immediately interested, and since the next day was Sunday, Bob rented out quite a few boats.

Bob was overjoyed, but when Tom tried to pay for the extra time on the boat, the guy absolutely refused to accept it.

He's on the right track.

Fu Wan suddenly remembered that there were still a few miscellaneous fish in the fish box, so she immediately opened the box and took out two blackhead fish and a red sea bream.

"Bai Qianzhou, let's give this fish to that uncle as payment for the extra time we spent on the boat."

Bai Qianzhou nodded in agreement and led her to have a conversation with Bob.

Bob was genuinely surprised that Fu Wan was going to send him fish. He was about to refuse, but when he saw the red snapper in Fu Wan's hand, he swallowed his words of refusal.

"Oh my god, kind lady, is this fish really for me?"

Fu Wan nodded and placed the fish on the wooden board beside her.

Bob was so touched! It was the first time someone had ever given him such an expensive fish. Chinese people are really different from what you see on TV!

Damn, heartless news!

After giving away the two fish, Fu Wan and her friends still had a larger red snapper and a red snapper in their fish tank. To her surprise, Robert's bluefin tuna was not for sale either!
