Chapter 566 Handling it quietly

After Fu Wan said this, Boss Fu also felt that there was some truth to it.

It has only been a few years since China won the War of Resistance against Japan, and now is a time when everything is in ruins and needs to be rebuilt.

It must be admitted that things from the United States are indeed much more advanced than those from China today.

He sighed and agreed: "Okay, I'll do as you say. We'll move these things onto the boat and hide them, then send them to the camp later."

The military and civilians are one family; it's just a matter of one family taking some risks.

But if it can help the country and the organization, then it's worth it!

With this in mind, Boss Fu went to discuss the matter with Ye Jianguo, while Fu Wan was not idle either, and immediately pulled Fu Ming aside.

"Brother, you and Brother Liang take these people to the other side of the island to collect seafood later."

Fu Ming was a little puzzled. "We didn't go over there just now. What if we didn't find any seafood?"

He wasn't stupid either; seeing Boss Fu and Ye Jianguo talking together, he immediately realized what was going on.

"Ah Wan, is there something in that cave?"

Fu Wan thought for a moment and decided not to hide it from him. "Yes, things that can't be exposed to the light. I'll have Dad and Uncle move them. You're in charge of taking these people away."

Fu Ming immediately agreed when he realized he had such an important mission.

"Okay, you can trust me to handle things. Remember to share some of those shady things with me when the time comes."

Fu Wan chuckled and nodded haphazardly.

She knew exactly what this guy was thinking; he probably assumed the shady stuff she was talking about was gold bars or something like that.

Even if she dared to share the contents of that box with Fu Ming, Fu Ming wouldn't have the guts to accept it!

However, putting everything else aside, Fu Ming is quite good at conning people.

He walked over to Fu Xiaochuan and the others and whispered to them for a while. No one knew what he said, but the group followed him to the other side of the island.

Even Chen Balang, who was originally unwilling to move, was kindly pulled away by his uncle and brother.

Seeing that everyone had gone elsewhere, Fu Wan led Fu Laoda, Ye Jianguo, and Ye Lin toward the reef cave.

Apart from Fu Wan, the other three were all tall and strong men. Although Ye Jianguo was older, he was also a hunter who could hunt wild boars.

So carrying several boxes was no problem at all, and in less than fifteen minutes, the group had moved the items into the cabin.

"Ah Wan, what exactly is in here?"

Ye Lin wiped the sweat from his forehead and asked with some confusion.

He could tolerate it before he didn't see the wooden box, but now that he'd carried it all this way, he finally couldn't suppress his curiosity.

Before Fu Wan could answer, Ye Jianguo kicked her.

"Why are you asking such silly questions? Just finish the work."

"Wan, where should we put these boxes?"

Fu Wan thought for a moment, "How about we push it under the bed?"

The space under the four-poster bed is empty; she can simply cover it with something else and no one will notice.

Moreover, this cabin is occupied by women, so Fu Shi and his group usually don't go in.

Upon hearing Fu Wan's words, Boss Fu agreed.

"Okay, we'll do it your way."

After saying that, he pushed the wooden box in front of him under the bed.

Surprisingly, the height of the box was just right. Seeing that Ye Jianguo and the others all looked serious, and having just been scolded by his father, Ye Lin obediently pushed the box inside.

As for the snakeskin bag in Fu Wan's hand, she simply crumpled it up and stuffed it under the bed.

There were other foods inside besides canned goods, but she couldn't very well take them out.

First, the packaging is too obvious to explain, and second, it's unclear whether the meat inside is safe to eat.

They disembarked only after everything was arranged. By then, the tide had receded considerably, and the red clams that had been in the trench were now visible.

Upon seeing the seafood, Boss Fu instantly forgot all the troubles that had just been caused by those things.

"Let's go, let's pick out these shellfish, then we can clean them and steam some for lunch!"

Upon hearing this, Ye Jianguo carried a bucket over. They hadn't noticed them before because of the high tide, but now that the tide had receded, Fu Wan realized that each of the red clams was as big as her palm. (Image of red clams from the internet, please delete if infringing). Such large clams must taste delicious. She squatted down and picked up a few, but while rummaging through them, she unexpectedly encountered another pleasant surprise.

There were actually several sea cucumbers, each about two fingers thick, under those red shells!

"Dad, look what this is!"

Fu Wan picked up two sea cucumbers and waved them at Boss Fu.

Boss Fu chuckled when he saw it, "Hey, I haven't had this in ages! Take it home, I'll make a cold salad for myself to enjoy with my drinks in a couple of days!"

Ye Jianguo looked over when he heard this, and thought to himself, "Wow, thanks to my brother-in-law, I've had my share of these before."

However, this stuff is really nutritious, and it's hard to fall asleep at night if you eat it. If he keeps fidgeting, Li Chunhua is going to kick him off the bed.

"Ahem, this is not something I should talk about," Ye Jianguo said, his face flushing red. He quickly lowered his head and silently picked up several sea cucumbers from his bucket.

Well, it's okay to supplement occasionally.

Ye Lin didn't notice his father's little tricks. He had heard that red clams tasted good and could be dried if they weren't eaten, so he kept throwing red clams from the trench into the bucket.

However, after the group had cleaned up all the red shells, none of Fu Mingna's people returned.

"Should I go take a look?"

Fu Wan raised her hand to look at her watch. It was already 10 a.m., but she didn't know when, but there were more clouds in the sky, and the sun was blocked.

Upon hearing this, Boss Fu agreed, "Then you go with Ah Lin and talk to Chen Balang and the others. After lunch, we'll set off for trawling."

"good!"

Fu Wan responded and followed Ye Lin in the direction Fu Ming and the others had left.

Before she had walked for ten minutes, Fu Wan heard Fu Ming's laughter.

"Hahaha, look how big it is in my hand!"

"What's the big deal?" Fu Wan and Ye Lin exchanged a glance and immediately quickened their pace.

After crossing many protruding rocks, Fu Wan and Ye Lin walked for another five or six minutes before they saw a few figures in the distance.

"Brother, how's the harvest over there?"

Upon hearing Fu Wan's voice, Fu Ming immediately raised his hand and waved.

"Great haul, Awan! Look at the coconut snails I collected!"

Fu Wan looked around and saw that Fu Ming was indeed holding a coconut shell that was bigger than his head.

So you're asking how big this thing is!

Seeing this, Ye Lin hurriedly went over. He remembered that there might be pearls inside the coconut snails!

As Fu Wan passed by, she also saw Fu Xiaochuan and Fu Dahai. While greeting them, she glanced down at their haul.

"My goodness, you've harvested so many bergamot snails?"

Fu Dahai immediately laughed and said, "That's right, Awan, look, no wonder Amin asked us to come over just now!"

The garnets in their buckets alone could sell for tens of yuan!

Seeing Fu Wan come over, Chen Balang also wanted to get along with her.

He greeted her with a smile and even showed Fu Wan his bucket.

"This place is nice. I've caught several fish here. Ah Wan, look, isn't this red snapper beautiful too!"
