Fu Wan was woken up by the sound of her two children running around in the morning.
Since Qin Mingzhu joined the family, Fu Ling has become more cheerful than before. She likes to do everything with Qin Mingzhu, whether it's kicking the house, writing, or playing hide-and-seek.
This time, the two of them didn't go out to look for Ye Xiaocui as before. Fu Wan was woken up and realized that the rain had stopped.
"Mom, you're finally awake!"
Fu Wan rubbed her eyes and stretched.
I picked up my watch and saw it was exactly seven o'clock.
"Mom, Grandma and Grandpa aren't home!"
Fu Wan understood, "They must have gone to the beach to collect clams."
Upon hearing this, Fu Ling was immediately alarmed. How could she miss out on going to the beach? She urged Fu Wan, "Mom, hurry up, I want to go to the beach too!"
Fu Wan responded, but before she could even brush her teeth, Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu pulled her outside.
She hadn't been to the beach in a long time, but when she got there, she was startled by the people on the sand.
Without exaggeration, she felt that the entire village was already at the seaside.
What's the rush? Forget about the crabs, even the shells will be taken.
Just then, Ye Xiaocui and Boss Fu walked over from not far away, each carrying a bucket.
“I told you you brought two kids out. Go back. There’s nothing to pick up here.”
Ye Xiaocui urged Fu Wan and the others to go back while carrying the bucket. Fu Wan went over to take a look and saw that although there was a harvest in the bucket, it was just a bunch of clams and a few mantis shrimps.
Boss Fu had three fist-sized blue crabs on his side.
"There are too many people on the beach, there's nothing to pick up, let's go back first."
Boss Fu walked ahead carrying the bucket, taking large, quick strides.
Fu Wan understood what he meant, so when Fu Ling was feeling a little down, she leaned over and whispered words of comfort.
"Go back and grab your little shovel, we're going out to sea today!"
Want to go out to sea for fun?
Fu Ling's face immediately brightened. She remembered that she had collected those beautiful seashells, all of which she had picked up with her mother when they went out to sea!
Not long after everyone went back, Fu Ming returned carrying buckets and tools.
It has to be said that they are father and son. He and Boss Fu had the same harvest, catching only two crabs.
"Don't even mention it. Those sea snails by the reef, the aunties would swarm up there like they were robbing people, I was too embarrassed to push through."
He thought about it and decided to give up on the idea of eating clams because they had little meat and large shells.
Ye Xiaocui poured the crabs into a small bucket and placed it in a cool, shady spot in the kitchen.
"Then let's hurry up and pack up. I'll make some pancakes, and after we eat, we'll head out to sea."
"Mom, just make a few sheets for breakfast, we'll cook lunch on the boat!"
The pancakes made now will be incredibly dry by noon. It's better to take some flour with you and add some cleaned seafood. They'll be delicious and fresh.
Fu Ming was the first to nod in agreement, "Mom, those flatbreads are so hard to swallow when we take them out for lunch, I'm afraid I'll choke to death."
Ye Xiaocui rolled her eyes. "Pah, pah, pah, what are you saying!"
After eating these pastries for so many years, why is it getting stuck in my throat now?!
If you don't want to bring it, then you don't have to.
Ye Xiaocui made the same amount of potato pancakes as Fu Wan had made them that morning.
After thinking for a moment, Boss Fu went inside and took out two yuan, which he then gave to Fu Ming.
"Go to the village store and buy some noodles to take on the boat later."
Fu Ming responded and then winked at Fu Wan, who was tidying up her things beside him.
"Awan, go pick some greens from the backyard. We can add some to the noodles when we cook them for lunch."
He ate meat all day yesterday, which really upset him.
I went to the toilet several times last night.
Fu Wan smiled and agreed, then turned around and went to the backyard to pick vegetables from the basket next to her.
Add a little scallion; it makes the seafood noodles even more fragrant.
After everyone finished breakfast, it was eight o'clock. Fu Liang and Jiang Chunlan came over with their fishing gear, locked the door, and headed over. Just then, Fu's eldest family had also finished packing. The two families, with their fishing gear, headed to the dock in a grand procession.
Along the way, many villagers had just finished their picnic and were heading home. When they saw Boss Fu and his group looking like they were about to head out to sea, they couldn't help but greet them.
"Xiao Cui and Chun Lan, you're going out to sea!"
Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan nodded in response, "Yes, we haven't been out to sea for a few days, let's go out and try our luck."
The villagers were filled with envy. "Your family's shipping business has always been good. I'll go to the dock tonight and take a look at your seafood!"
Ye Xiaocui laughed, "You guys have had quite a haul from beachcombing! Look at this huge bucket!"
The aunt straightened her back a bit more when she talked about the harvest in her bucket.
"Of course! I came out as soon as the rain stopped at four o'clock!"
Four points. Fu Wan and Fu Ming couldn't help but click their tongues in amazement. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing, even more ruthless than a ruthless person.
It's already eight o'clock, and this auntie is only now going home.
And they came out as soon as the rain stopped, probably because they didn't get much sleep that night, just waiting for the rain to stop.
Ah, that's how it is for fishermen; if they want to earn more, they have to work hard.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the group arrived at the dock. Old Li was helping the boat set sail to fasten its chains, and when he saw Fu Wan and the others, he could only nod as a greeting.
Boss Fu nodded in response. Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu had already recognized their own ship, and the two little girls rushed onto the deck with their little buckets.
Boss Fu checked the diesel engines of the two ships and found no problems. He then went to the cabin to check the diesel fuel that had just been prepared.
Since their finances have become less strained, they usually prepare two barrels of diesel fuel when they go out to sea, just in case something happens and they need to stay at sea longer.
After making sure the diesel engine was working properly, Boss Fu took the crank handle out of the cabin, aimed it at the diesel engine's crank, and started to crank.
Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu watched as he cranked faster and faster, and as a plume of black smoke rose, the diesel engine roared to life.
Fu San happened to be at the dock collecting goods at that moment. Seeing Fu Laoda and his crew's ship set off, he became even more excited about their return and their harvest.
The two boats slowly sailed away from the dock, one after the other. On Fu Laoda's side were Fu Wan and Ye Xiaocui, and on Fu Ming's side were Fu Liang and Jiang Chunlan.
"Dad, let's go check out Coconut Island first!"
Coconut Island is the island where you catch coconut crabs. The reason we went there is because the beach there has a large mudflat area. It rained yesterday, so there must be a lot of things on the beach.
Boss Fu readily agreed, since it was only the beginning of the day anyway, and there was still time to go to the Coconut Island first and then the Swallow's Nest Island.
With a destination in mind, the boat sailed quickly, and before long, Fu Wan, standing on the deck, spotted Coconut Island.
Boss Fu slowed down the boat and slowly approached the sea. Fu Ling and Qin Mingzhu were full of excitement and couldn't wait to get off the boat.
"Ah Wan, look what that is?!"
Ye Xiaocui exclaimed in surprise, and Fu Wan looked in the direction she was pointing.
Perhaps due to the rain and wind, the rocks on the beach are now in a rather messy state.
The key issue isn't the rocks themselves, but rather the numerous dark green things hanging from them, in patches.
That's clearly seaweed!
