Where did that sound come from?
Fu Ming yawned as he emerged from the cabin. He had slept for two or three hours and still had a headache. When he first woke up, he was momentarily disoriented, only remembering that he was still on the ship after seeing the furnishings in the cabin.
No sooner had he finished speaking than a series of intermittent knocking sounds came from below the boat.
Fu Wan put down the fish she was holding and stood up warily, because the trawling had just started and Boss Fu was driving the boat very slowly.
But it was rather strange to hear such a sound suddenly coming from beneath the ship on the vast ocean.
"Could it be that Fugui and the others have arrived?"
Fu Wan's first thought was of Fu Gui and Hua Kai, which she hadn't seen in a long time. She hadn't seen Fu Gui and Hua Kai since she returned from the Turtle Tomb.
Thinking of her old friend, Fu Wan turned around and picked up the hand-held net from the ground.
Seeing this, Fu Ming quickly stopped him.
"Ah Wan, you haven't taken your gloves off yet! I'll go, I'll go! It's just catching a sea turtle, I can do it!"
Fu Ming's face was full of excitement. Hehe, last time Hua Kai kept pawing at his shoes. This time, he reluctantly fished out the two turtles. He had to let them know that he was also a friend and that they would have to be more polite to him in the future!
Upon hearing this, Fu Wan handed him the net. If Fu Ming wanted to go, let him go; it would save her the trouble of taking off her waterproof work clothes.
Fu Ming found a rope ladder, ran to shout to Boss Fu to stop the boat, and then hung the rope ladder on the side of the boat himself. He then carefully climbed down into the boat with a hand net.
Throughout this process, the knocking sound from under the boat never stopped, but it wasn't very loud. After the diesel engine was turned off, Fu Wan listened to it for a while and felt that something was wrong.
This strength doesn't seem like that of a wealthy person!
Previously, when Fugui was tapping the bottom of the boat, he would either pound it with his forelimbs or ram it with his hard shell. Now, the weak tapping sound didn't sound like the movements of those two sea turtles at all.
We can't be so weak that we don't have the strength to row the boat because we didn't eat enough today.
Fu Wan was lost in thought when, at that moment, Fu Ming had already climbed down the rope ladder like a lizard.
There was nothing he could do; he had never used this rope ladder before, so he was a little unaccustomed to it and was afraid of accidentally stepping into an empty space.
Finally reaching the last section, Fu Ming held onto the rope ladder with one hand and extended the hand net under the boat with the other.
"The flowers of wealth and honor are in bloom! Hurry up and come to the net, Uncle will take you up!"
Actually, Fu Ming would prefer to call himself "brother," but with Fu Wan and the others watching from the boat, he was too embarrassed to say it.
After Fu Ming finished speaking, the net remained motionless for a long time. Helpless, Fu Ming could only shake the net in his hand again.
“The flowers of wealth and honor are in bloom. It’s me, A-Wan’s brothers. Come out quickly, or we’ll be leaving.”
Fu Ming muttered two or three sentences in a row, but there was still no other movement under the boat, only the occasional knocking sound.
"No, I'll just go into the water and see!"
Fu Ming, having exhausted his patience, handed the net to Fu Wan and the others.
Just then, a figure suddenly floated out from under the boat, startling Su Ran, who was watching the commotion, into screaming.
"A ghost! A ghost!"
Fu Ming felt the hairs on the back of his head stand on end, and he hurriedly tried to reassure himself.
"What ghosts? It's almost noon, the time of day when the yang energy is at its peak!"
May the Goddess Mazu protect him; he can't possibly encounter a ghost in broad daylight!
However, it was at this moment that Fu Wan saw the person's appearance clearly and couldn't help but shout out.
"Bai Qianzhou?"
Good heavens! What floated out from under the boat—no, what swam out—was none other than Bai Qianzhou, who should have been at the camp!
Fu Ming then saw Bai Qianzhou's appearance in the water. His face was deathly pale, and his hand was weakly reaching out towards Fu Ming.
"Oh my god, Xiaobai, what's wrong with you?!"
Fu Ming cried out in surprise and immediately tried to help Bai Qianzhou up the rope ladder.
But Bai Qianzhou was a tall man, over 1.8 meters, and Fu Ming had to use one hand to balance the rope ladder, so it was really difficult for him to lift him up.
"I'll go help!"
Fu Wan prepared to go down without saying a word, but was stopped by Boss Fu.
"You stay here and watch, I'm going!"
After all, men and women are different. How could Boss Fu possibly let Fu Wan go into the water to save someone in front of so many people?
Fu Wan was reassured by Boss Fu's swimming skills. After Boss Fu went into the water, he and Fu Ming helped Bai Qianzhou up the rope ladder. Fortunately, he was still conscious and knew to hold onto the rope.
"Little Bai, now you've really become a gigolo."
Seeing Bai Qianzhou's pale face, Fu Ming couldn't help but mutter to himself.
Bai Qianzhou naturally heard it. He tried to smile, but accidentally aggravated the wound on his chin, causing him to wince in pain.
After Bai Qianzhou climbed the rope ladder, Ye Lin and Li Jun quickly pulled him onto the deck.
Ye Lin was a hunter by trade, and he was bound to get injured when he encountered big guys like wild boars while hunting in the jungle, so he knew a little about bandaging wounds.
Just as Ye Lin began to examine Bai Qianzhou's wounds, Bai Qianzhou grabbed Fu Wan's clothes.
"Go...go send a distress signal to the camp! There are...there are pirates!"
After saying that, he raised his left hand, and Fu Wan then realized that he had actually hidden a knife in his sleeve.
The knife looked very familiar; not only Fu Wan, but even Ye Lin recognized it at a glance.
"Isn't this the dagger that Awan lost?"
Bai Qianzhou nodded slightly and handed it to Fu Wan. Fu Wan took it but didn't have time to ask any questions. She could only run to the cockpit to send a distress signal to the camp.
As soon as she got up to leave, Bai Qianzhou's head lolled to the side and she fainted.
The scene terrified Fu Ming and the others. "Little White! Little White!"
"Father, Xiaobai, what could it be..."
Boss Fu reached out and touched Bai Qianzhou's neck, then glared at Fu Ming.
"Don't talk nonsense. He's probably just exhausted and passed out. Ah Lin, you and Ah Ming take him to the cabin to change his clothes. After that, check if he has any other wounds and put some Yunnan Baiyao on him!"
Fu Wan had prepared a small first-aid kit on the boat, which contained alcohol, gauze, a few tablets of Analgin, and a small bottle of Yunnan Baiyao.
This medicine has been sitting for months; I never expected it to come in handy today.
Fu Wan ran to press the rescue button, but when she picked up the walkie-talkie to tune to the camp, she found that there was no response.
Moreover, there was no response from Chen Balang or Fu Liang.
Helpless and in desperation, she could only glance at the positions of Fu Liang and Chen Balang's two ships. Strangely enough, the two ships were not far from them, but they just couldn't connect.
"Ah Wan, how are you?"
Fu Laoda had just started the diesel engine, and as soon as he entered the cockpit, he saw Fu Wan fiddling with the radio.
"Dad, Uncle Chen and Brother Liang can't get in touch with them, and the same goes for the camp. I'm not sure if the distress signal was even sent out!"
Upon hearing this, Boss Fu frowned immediately. Fu Wan had also calmed down by now. "Father, we were probably right before. That ship is most likely a pirate ship."
They might have jamming equipment, which is why we can't connect to Uncle Chen and the others!
