The way he said that made Ye Lin so happy; otherwise, he would have been drooling.
He didn't stand on ceremony with Fu Wan and immediately tried to use his hands without even picking up his chopsticks.
Fu Wan quickly moved the ribbonfish aside, saying, "What are you doing? Wash your hands and get some chopsticks!"
I was just sorting through the fish, and even with gloves on, they were still dirty!
Ye Lin had no choice but to do as he was told, while Fang Min, who was standing to the side, had already washed two pairs of chopsticks and was able to taste the ribbonfish earlier.
To be honest, Fang Min used to not care much about the quality of food. The environment in the army was harsh, and she always just ate whatever tasted good or bad, as long as she was full.
But when she ate the ribbonfish, she experienced for the first time what it meant to have a perfect combination of color, aroma, and taste.
"How is it? Is it alright?"
Fu Wan asked her with a smile, and Fang Min didn't even have time to speak before giving her a thumbs up.
Seeing this, Ye Lin grabbed a piece of ribbonfish and stuffed it into his mouth. The dish was fresh out of the pot, and it was so hot that he grimaced.
"Delicious, delicious!"
Seeing that they both liked it, Fu Wan didn't forget about Boss Fu and Fu Shi, who were busy in the cockpit.
She took a large bowl, filled it halfway with ribbonfish, and then put two large steamed buns on top.
After thinking for a moment, she turned to Fang Min and said, "Amin, go see if Aqing wants to get up and eat something."
Before Fang Min could even go to the cabin to look for Fu Qing, Fu Qing got up on his own.
They saw a patch of blackness outside the ship, and Fang Min and Ye Lin not far away.
Fu Qing was stunned for a moment before he remembered that he had gone to sea with Fu Wan.
Thinking that Wang Xiuer wasn't by her side, Fu Qing pursed her lips, tears welling up in her eyes.
Waaaaah, Ah Qing misses her mother a little.
"Aqing, you're awake? Hurry up and go to Fang Min and the others. I made some delicious ribbonfish, come and try it!"
Fu Wan showed her the ribbonfish in the bowl. Sure enough, she had a childlike nature, and Fu Qing's attention was immediately diverted to the food.
Upon hearing Fu Wan's voice, Fang Min hurried over and led Fu Qing there.
Watching Fu Qing's departing figure, Fu Wan also breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, this girl is easy to coax.
The aroma of ribbonfish wafted closer, and Boss Fu turned his head and saw his daughter bringing him a late-night snack.
He immediately beamed like a flower, "Oh my, it smells so good! Tell me, how come I never knew ribbonfish could smell this good!"
Fu Shi hurriedly went up and took the bowl from Fu Wan's hands, "Wan, thank you!"
They work on the ship themselves, yet they still have to trouble their employers to cook for them.
Fu Wan waved her hand, "You guys eat first, there are still steamed buns in the pot, and I also have two braised fish over there. Everyone can rest after you've eaten your fill."
Fu Laoda picked up a piece of ribbonfish with his chopsticks and stuffed it into his mouth. He didn't even bother to nod when he heard what Fu Wan said.
"Oh, if only there were some wine!"
This ribbonfish smells so good! If you had some wine with it at home, you could have enjoyed it and then had a nice nap. It would have been so relaxing!
But now that we're at sea, Boss Fu knows what's important. If anyone tries to drink on the ship, he'll be the first to yell at them.
Seeing that Boss Fu had started eating, Fu Shi picked up a piece of ribbonfish with his chopsticks and put it in his mouth. He then immediately gave Fu Wan a thumbs up.
It's delicious! It's really delicious!
Seeing that they were enjoying their meal, Fu Wan was also happy that her efforts had not been in vain.
She hurried back to Fang Min and the others, only to find Fang Min and Ye Lin standing by the pot.
What are you all doing standing here?
Fu Qing chuckled, "Sister Fang said that standing here will block the wind, so you won't feel cold when you come back to eat."
How stupid!
Fu Wan was both amused and exasperated, and immediately took the steamed bun that Fang Min handed her and took a bite.
Seeing that the fish and shrimp simmering in the induction cooker were almost ready, Fu Wan unplugged the power and helped Fu Laoda and the others pack some out.
The group ate with great relish, finishing the bowl of ribbonfish completely, and even using steamed buns to clean up the soup at the bottom of the bowl.
After having a late-night snack, Fu Wan and Fu Qing washed up and returned to their cabin. Ye Lin and Fang Min took it upon themselves to clean up the area where they had cooked.
The cook doesn't wash the dishes; it's a habit in the Fu family.
Fu Laoda and Fu Shi took turns watching the direction the ship was heading in the cockpit. Perhaps because it was her first time going out to sea, Fu Wan tossed and turned and dozed off for a while, not knowing if she had fallen asleep or not.
Unable to sleep, she got up and went outside. On the vast sea, apart from a distant light, only the bright moon in the sky remained.
Fu Liang's boat was trawling somewhere, no one knew.
Fu Wan walked to the cockpit. Boss Fu was staring intently ahead, while Fu Shi was asleep leaning against the side.
"Father, how much longer will this drag on?"
Boss Fu was startled by the voice and turned around to find that it was Fu Wan.
"Why didn't you go to sleep? Let me take a look at this net..."
He glanced at the watch in his pocket, then stared intently at the horsepower displayed on the control panel for a long time.
"It'll probably take another hour. This net is a bit slower than the last one. Ah Wan, why don't you go back to sleep for a while longer!"
Fu Wan nodded upon hearing this, and after returning to her cabin, she poured herself another glass of warm water.
Perhaps because she had just gone for a walk, Fu Wan finally felt sleepy.
When she opened her eyes and woke up, the bunk bed opposite her was empty. Not only was Fang Min gone, but Fu Qing was also nowhere to be seen.
I took out my watch and saw that it was already past eleven o'clock.
She got dressed and went outside, where, sure enough, people were picking out fish on the deck.
"Ah Wan, you're awake?"
Fu Qing was the first to spot Fu Wan, and turned around to greet her cheerfully.
Fu Wan stepped forward and put the hat on the little girl's head. The little girl was wearing a pretty red woolen hat, which Wang Xiuer had knitted herself.
"Yes, when did you get up?"
Fu Qing thought for a moment and said, "Just a little bit in front of you."
"Sister Fang said that you finally fell asleep, so she told me to sneak out."
Fu Qing was quite proud of herself when she said this. She was very careful when she came out and didn't wake Fu Wan at all.
This lively expression amused Fu Wan. She couldn't help but touch Fu Qing's fluffy hat before putting on the gloves for picking out the fish.
Having not looked at the fish on the deck earlier, Fu Wan was now somewhat incredulous when she saw the fish basket next to the big fish.
"Why are there so many sole fish?"
It looks so soft and mushy, but it must taste really good when stewed.
Sole, also known as tonguefish, looks just like a tongue. This fish has delicious flesh with few bones, no fishy smell, and the meat won't become tough no matter how long it's cooked. (Image of sole from the internet, please delete if infringing copyright). Fu Shi, standing nearby, chimed in, "Not just sole, look, there are a few conger eels in the basket too. Oh, and we just picked out quite a few live red snapper and put them in the live water tank!"
Fu Wan lifted the lid of the live water tank and looked inside. All sorts of fish were swimming around, including not only red snapper but also several spotted rock snapper!
