Fu Liang was puzzled, but Fu Ming guessed that it must be a valuable treasure.
But he didn't dare to say anything at the moment, for fear that he had guessed wrong.
Fu Wan stood up and patted the mud off her clothes. "Big brother, where's your bucket for beachcombing?"
Fu Ming dragged over the bucket that was placed to the side; inside were two palm-sized rock shards.
"Wow, that's amazing! You guys caught this?"
There's no rain and no high tide, so you can't catch grouper on the beach.
Fu Ming nodded smugly, "Yes, we caught them all!"
However, after most of the night, I only caught two fish.
Something is better than nothing, so Fu Wan didn't mind and simply put the net bag containing the gold bricks into the bucket.
The concern is that if the net bag isn't covered by clothes, and someone gets up to use the outhouse sees it, that would be terrible.
"Alright, it's getting late, brothers, let's head back!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a figure appeared on the beach.
Fu Wan was a little nervous at first because she couldn't see who it was. But when the person got closer, she realized that it was actually Fu Laoda, who should have been sleeping at home.
When Boss Fu saw that his daughter had come ashore, he felt relieved, but he still couldn't help but complain a little.
"Don't you guys even look at the time? Why aren't you going home yet?"
"There are so many fish and shrimp in this sea, we can't catch them all. Hmm... where are the shrimp?"
He took the bucket from Fu Wan's hand and then realized that none of them had the little green dragon.
Fu Ming was carrying a net bag, but it was a dark, indistinct thing that looked more like a piece of clothing.
"Wan, you didn't catch any lobsters?"
He was a little confused, but then he turned around and comforted his daughter.
"It's okay if we don't catch him. That little green dragon won't make much money anyway. If you ask me, he might as well just stay home and sleep."
Once the boat is repaired and ready to go back to sea, we can earn hundreds of small lobsters from a single trawl.
Fu Wan just chuckled and didn't say anything, because this was clearly not the place to talk.
Fu Liang was still clutching the two bricks Fu Wan had given him, looking bewildered. As they walked out of the darkness on the beach, Fu Wan grabbed his arm.
"Brother Liang, take that thing back wrapped in your clothes!"
Although Fu Liang didn't understand, he listened to Fu Wan. He obediently took off his jacket and covered the two pieces of clothing.
The group quickly returned home via a side path. Fu Liang, worried that Jiang Chunlan would be concerned, took his belongings and went back to his own home.
Seeing how secretive these people were, Boss Fu felt that something was amiss.
He held back until he got home before eagerly asking Fu Wan, "Wan, what did you give Liang?"
Fu Wan pulled the light cord in the room, then took the bucket from Boss Fu's hand.
"Father, elder brother, it's not that I failed to catch Little Green Dragon today, but that I caught him and then released him."
She sighed with feigned regret, "Oh well, what can I do? I just happened to come across so many things that I couldn't carry them all by myself, so I had to release Little Green Dragon and bring them back."
After saying that, she fished the net out of the bucket, and Fu Ming and Boss Fu finally saw what the thing really looked like.
Good heavens! This golden yellow color almost blinded the father and son!
Fu Ming tenderly used the hem of his robe to wipe the water off the gold bricks. There was still some seawater in the bucket, where he and Fu Liang kept the grouper they had caught.
Fortunately, the time was short, and the two groupers were not crushed by the gold bricks.
"Ah Wan, really! Why didn't you tell me sooner that it was such a valuable thing!"
If he had been told earlier, he wouldn't have let these treasures be kept in the bucket with the two fish!
Fu Wan chuckled, "If I told you there were gold bricks in here on the beach, are you sure you could walk home without a care in the world?"
Just imagining Fu Ming's furtive glances and furtive movements makes Fu Wan laugh to death.
It would be a real sin to scare a neighbor late at night!
Fu Ming could tell that Fu Wan was insulting him, but he wasn't angry. He rubbed the gold brick on his clothes again and again, then put it in his mouth and took a small bite.
"Dad, it's real, it's a real gold brick!"
Thank goodness my tooth didn't break!
Fu Laoda looked at him with some disdain for his flustered appearance.
"Didn't you taste any fishiness?"
These were at least just fished out of the pile of fish; even two fish make up a pile of fish!
Fu Ming chuckled. He couldn't taste the fishy smell, but he could definitely taste the saltiness of the sea.
The commotion woke up Ye Xiaocui, who was sleeping inside. Just as Fu Wan was taking off her clothes, Ye Xiaocui came out of the room yawning.
The first thing I saw was my daughter with her back to the door, untying a net bag.
"Ah Wan, you're back! Look, your hair is still wet, hurry up and go wash it in the backyard!"
After saying that, he instructed Fu Ming, "Ah Ming, go and scoop the water out of the pot for your sister and take it over!"
"Mom, wait a minute, we have important business to attend to!"
After the old mother finished speaking, seeing that neither her daughter nor her son had gotten up, she immediately rushed over anxiously.
She wanted to see what serious business it was!
"The weather has already turned cold. If you ask me, I shouldn't have gone to the sea to catch lobsters. I'll just catch a cold and suffer. Oh my God!"
As Ye Xiaocui rushed over while muttering to herself, Fu Wan just opened her clothes, revealing a pile of gold bricks inside.
Ye Xiaocui thought she was still half asleep and pinched her arm hard.
Huh, why doesn't it hurt anymore?
Fu Ming, standing nearby, gasped in pain, "Mom, you're pinching my arm!"
"Oh no, I pinched the wrong one!"
Ye Xiaocui slapped Fu Ming's arm, turning what was originally just a small red spot into a large red area!
"Oh, Mom, what are you doing!"
Even though Fu Ming was in so much pain that he was grimacing, he couldn't bear to put down the gold bricks he was holding.
"Ah Wan, where did these gold bricks come from?"
Ye Xiaocui ignored her unlucky son and picked up a gold brick from the ground.
She weighed it in her hand, "Good heavens, this must weigh at least a pound!"
They really are a family. After weighing it, Ye Xiaocui wanted to put it in her mouth. Although the gold brick was thick, she could still bite it if she opened her mouth wide.
"Hey, hey, honey, stop biting! Ah Ming already bit me!"
Boss Fu quickly stopped her. They were both in their forties or fifties; if she took that bite, would she even have any teeth left?
"So, are all of these real?"
Ye Xiaocui still found it hard to believe, but Fu Wan nodded, "They should all be real. They were all packed in a wooden box. I didn't bring the box back; I just left it at the bottom of the sea."
"The wooden box doesn't matter, but oh my god, this is really a windfall!"
At the same time, it was Ye Xiaocui's good friend Jiang Chunlan who called out to her mother. Fu Liang hurriedly returned home with his clothes in his arms, and was spotted by Jiang Chunlan as soon as he entered the house.
"Didn't you say you were going beachcombing? You didn't find anything?"
Jiang Chunlan pulled the light cord and looked at her son, who was holding the clothes and looking excited.
"I didn't get to anything, except Ah Wan gave me some things and told me to come back and look at them."
Jiang Chunlan found it strange. Fu Ming quickly unbuttoned his clothes, revealing what was underneath.
"My goodness, this...this is gold bricks!"
