A large black dog, almost half a person's height, was staring at them silently with its green eyes.
"Steamed buns, steamed buns!"
Tian Yuan's pupils dilated instantly, and he called out urgently to Wang the Cripple in a low voice. Upon hearing this, Wang the Cripple hurriedly handed over the leather bag he was holding.
These are meat buns they've laced with drugs, specifically to deal with Fu Wan's dogs.
Tian Yuan took out a meat bun and threw it over, but the dog in front of him didn't even glance at it. Its pair of creepy green eyes were still staring intently at him!
"That's strange, why isn't this dog eating the steamed buns?"
Wang the Cripple stood on tiptoe and looked into the yard, puzzled. Tian Yuan thought for a moment, not believing in superstition, and threw a big meat bun into the yard.
"Ouch, my big meat bun!"
This action really broke Wang the Cripple's heart; they were buying large meat buns from the bun shop next to the state-run restaurant.
The owner of the steamed bun shop was a chef from a former state-run restaurant. Each bun was the size of a palm, and the filling was both substantial and delicious.
They had already prepared a steamed bun with added ingredients, but the second meat bun that Tian Yuan threw away just now had no added ingredients at all.
Tian Yuan ignored Wang the Cripple's distress. After all, he had tricked Wang the Cripple into coming to guide them and provide cover.
He threw out the second bun solely to verify a guess.
The big dog in front of him sniffed at him again, but still didn't bite.
Tian Yuan's doubts lessened considerably. He had thought the dog was a spirit that could smell something added to the first bun.
Now, when two steamed buns are thrown out, it sniffs them but doesn't bite them, showing that it is very wary.
The dog is a good dog, but unfortunately it has the wrong owner.
A hint of malice flashed in Tian Yuan's eyes. After thinking for a moment, he took out the wooden stick and sack he had prepared earlier and gestured for Wang the Cripple to take them.
Wang the Cripple looked at his actions with some confusion.
"Hey bro, what are you doing?"
"What can you do, beat the dog? Can't you see this dog won't eat the steamed bun?"
Tian Yuan said irritably, "This dog is too clever; it wasted two big meat buns."
If you won't listen to reason, then you might as well just kill me.
Upon hearing Tian Yuan's plan, Wang the Cripple immediately became anxious.
Is this person out of their mind? If that dog starts barking, even though Fu Wan's house is in a relatively remote area, the noise will still be quite loud!
He grabbed Tian Yuan, saying, "No, brother, you can't hit this dog."
"Why can't we hit it? I'll go in and put a sack over the dog first, then you can come in and knock it unconscious."
Otherwise, how would we get in to steal the jade... to steal other things?
Tian Yuan looked at him with an expression as if he were mentally challenged, leaving Wang the Cripple speechless.
This dog is so big, it looks like a wolfhound. I'm afraid it will bite him as soon as he climbs in, but it will obediently wait for him to put the sack over it.
Has this person never had any contact with dogs before?
It has to be said that, from a certain perspective, Wang the Cripple was actually right.
Tahara's real name is Odawara Yasuo. He is a relative of the Kui family. According to the Chinese relationship, he is a cousin of Kui Yu and Kui Koichi.
By chance, Odazono Yasuo learned about the Imperial Seal, but the disappearances of Kui Yu and Kui Koichi forced him to do his homework before running away.
Unlike Kui Yu and Kui Koichi, he had spent a long time in China, so his speech and mannerisms were no different from those of Chinese people.
But he also shares similarities with Jiujing Xiong and the others, namely their arrogance, which led them to dare to come to Fu Family Village alone.
Tian Yuan really didn't have much experience with dogs. Most of the dogs he had seen were docile, and he could get them to wag their tails and lie down at his feet with just a glance.
Seeing Tian Yuan's fearless demeanor, Wang the Cripple inexplicably felt that his decision to rush over for a few meat buns was a bit stupid.
"Don't rush, wait a bit, maybe this dog is eating a steamed bun right now!"
He simply refused to believe that there could be a dog that wouldn't eat meat buns.
This is a big meat bun, a white flour meat bun that costs only two cents!
After some persuasion from Wang the Cripple, Tian Yuan was unwilling to listen, but since Wang the Cripple wouldn't cooperate with him to climb over the wall, Tian Yuan had no choice but to hold him still for the time being.
But what happened next made Tian Yuan look at Wang the Cripple with new respect.
Because that dog actually ate a steamed bun!
At least, in their view, the dog was indeed eating steamed buns.
In reality, Wangcai simply carried the two buns back to the doghouse under the wall, then curled up on the doghouse and chewed on the air. If Fu Wan were home, she would have praised it for its excellent acting.
Fu Wan's home was in a remote area, and the surroundings were quiet. Apart from the chirping of insects and the occasional barking of other people's dogs, there was no other noise.
Wang the Cripple and Tian Yuan both breathed a little lighter as they peered over the wall to check on Wangcai's movements.
The steamed bun is nowhere to be seen; the dog must be about to faint.
It was pitch black all around, and they couldn't see clearly without a flashlight, so they naturally couldn't see that Wangcai had secretly pressed the steamed bun under his body.
"Splash!"
Just then, a noise came from the tree next to them, startling Tian Yuan and Wang the Cripple.
"Damn it, it's a damn bird."
Wang the Cripple patted his chest in fright, then pointed to Wangcai in the yard with great joy.
"Dude, the dog's acting strange, the medicine's working!"
He said that the medicine must be effective, because he used it to steal the village dogs for a snack.
Upon hearing this, Tian Yuan was overjoyed and immediately opened her eyes wide to look at the big dog.
Sure enough, to his expectant gaze, Wangcai shook its head, then suddenly seemed unable to bear the weight of its head and collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Now!
Overjoyed, Tian Yuan immediately used his hands to push himself up onto the wall.
Seeing this, Wang the Cripple hurriedly followed. He had heard that Fu Wan was the richest woman in the area, and her family must have a lot of savings.
Where do ordinary families hide their money? In the cupboard, under the bed?
Fu Wan is still a woman, so I wonder what her room smells like, and whether her bed smells nice too?
As soon as Wang the Cripple thought about it, he felt as if a million ants were scratching at his heart, and he wished he could immediately climb over the wall and pry open the lock on the gate.
However, just as he climbed onto the wall, he found that Tian Yuan was still hanging on the wall and had not come down.
"Brother, why aren't you going down?"
Tian Yuan's face was as black as ink. He pointed to the wall below, and Wang the Cripple looked over. What he saw almost scared the soul out of him.
Wangcai, who should have been unconscious, was now lying against the wall, his long, sharp dog teeth gleaming under the moonlight.
It was as if the dog's teeth would bite off their legs if they jumped.
That dog was faking it!
Tian Yuan immediately sensed something was wrong and adjusted his posture, preparing to quietly retract his outstretched leg. Now, all they could do was to go back down the way they came up.
After all, he didn't have the wooden sticks or sacks in his hands.
Tian Yuan was actually a little scared to fight this dog with his bare hands.
