After Boss Fu drove the boat for quite a while and made sure that there was no other boat behind him besides Fu Liang and his group, he finally felt relieved and headed towards the isolated island.
He deliberately circled around a couple more times, partly because he was afraid Qian Xiaohua and the others would discover the island, and partly because since they had already cast their nets, he figured he might catch some good catches if he kept circling around.
After sailing for about half an hour, Boss Fu finally stopped the boat.
"Ah Wan, you set up the trawl net, your brother and I will go collect the ground cages."
On the other boat, Fu Liang and Ye Lin were setting up their nets.
Fu Wan responded, and as she turned on the net-lifting machine, Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan watched intently as the fishing net was about to rise, their hearts filled with anticipation.
Once the fishing net was hoisted up, Fu Ming and Boss Fu moored the boat to the side, and then got off the boat carrying empty buckets.
"I wonder how much they caught this time?"
Ye Xiaocui muttered to herself, while Fu Wan said with a smile, "It would be great if we had some, but it's okay if we don't. We've had quite a haul this time; the cabin is practically full!"
Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan then remembered that the cold storage capacity was also limited. Fortunately, they had kept the crabs and other things in a cool place, so they didn't need to put them in the cold storage.
As they were talking, a huge net had already risen above the deck.
"Mother, go and untie the rope!"
Me?
Ye Xiaocui was caught off guard, "I'll do it!"
She rubbed her hands together, then put them together and muttered a few words.
"May Goddess Mazu bless me! I will definitely go to the temple to burn incense and donate money later!"
Fu Wan was about to die laughing at her mother's appearance, but the next second, she had to believe that there might really be a soft-hearted god in this world.
Perhaps it was the goddess Mazu in heaven who heard Ye Xiaocui's prayers. As soon as Ye Xiaocui pulled the hemp rope tied into the net, golden light crackled and scattered across the deck.
Wow, this is so beautiful!
Fu Wan exclaimed in surprise, "It can only be described as beautiful." This net of fish didn't have many crabs; it was mostly these small yellow fish that shimmered all over, as if they were glowing with fluorite.
"Mother, what kind of fish is this?"
It doesn't look like a small yellow croaker, but it's golden.
Ye Xiaocui picked up a fish and examined it for a while, finally exchanging glances with Jiang Chunlan.
The two women, who had lived by the sea for most of their lives, could hardly believe it.
"Ah Wan, this...this looks like a Plumfish!"
"Plumfish?"
Jiang Chunlan nodded, "There's absolutely no mistake, this is the Plum Tong Fish!"
Years ago, some people at the dock also caught yellow croaker. She had a particularly deep impression of it because she thought it was just an ordinary small yellow croaker and wanted to buy some to cook at home. She didn't expect that this fish was nearly ten times more expensive than the small yellow croaker.
Now, everyone, whose mood had been ruined by the theft of their octopus, was in high spirits again.
"Quickly, quickly, pick out all these pufferfish before they get pinched by those crabs!"
Fu Wan put on her gloves and picked up a small pufferfish from beside her feet to examine it closely.
The body of the Plumbago is laterally compressed, widening from front to back. Its head is disproportionately large, taking up roughly a third of its total size.
These group of pufferfish looked quite large, about ten centimeters long, roughly the size of an adult's palm.
Most importantly, their shimmering scales shine even brighter in the sunlight.
Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan were grinning from ear to ear, their hands never stopping as they scooped out the messy pile of fish from the deck and neatly arranged them in the baskets.
As usual, the fish baskets were divided into several baskets according to the size of the fish, and Fu Wan quickly joined the sorting team when she saw this.
At this moment, Fu Liang and his brother were looking at the fishing nets above the deck and praying for the protection of the goddess Mazu.
After the two of them talked for a while, Ye Lin finally opened the hemp rope. When the contents of the net fell out, they were immediately dumbfounded: their net was basically filled with swimming crabs and various kinds of fish, and even quite a few cheap sardines.
There were all sorts of strange fish, including quite a few squid, which were crawling around on the deck.
Fu Liang could tell at a glance that there wasn't anything particularly valuable in this net; crabs made up the majority of the catch.
As he dragged the fish basket over, he didn't forget to stand on tiptoe and look towards Fu Wan and the others.
"Ah Wan, how's your internet?"
Fu Wan waved the pufferfish in her hand, "It's really good, mostly pufferfish!"
Fu Liang was really jealous now. He knew about the Plum Tong fish!
Ye Lin, standing to the side, noticed Fu Liang's expression and was puzzled.
Are pufferfish valuable?
Fu Liang nodded emphatically, "It's worth much more than what we have here."
Now it was Ye Lin's turn to feel jealous. Although the two brothers weren't very familiar with each other before, they were now friends who had risked their lives for each other.
Right now, I wish we could hug each other and cry.
Their luck is incredible! Can't we show them what truly valuable fish looks like?!
Fishing here is nowhere near as good as where Fu Wan and her family live, and now even trawling isn't an option!
However, the two brothers quickly calmed down. Fu Liang reassured himself, "It's okay, at least we're not in the air force. This catch has saved us the fuel money!"
Ye Lin nodded vigorously, "Yes, yes, let's hurry up and process these fish, we'll definitely be able to catch some good fish later!"
The two brothers were immediately energized again and got to work.
Just then, Fu Ming and Boss Fu returned carrying their things.
Wow, this Plumfish looks really good!
As soon as Boss Fu climbed onto the deck, he saw the pile of fish that had been immediately sorted and cleaned.
He looked with satisfaction at the several baskets of neatly stacked mandarin fish next to him, his smile impossible to hide.
"We've probably earned more than half a year's salary for others on this trip!"
Fu Wan had finished picking up the fish, and seeing the bucket that Boss Fu was carrying, she curiously leaned over to take a look.
"Dad, what did you put in the cage?"
"Holy crap, there's a grouper! Why is it half-dead?"
Then Fu Laoda remembered the bucket he was carrying and said with a regretful look, "What a pity about this grouper, it was ruined by the blue crab. Let's stew it for ourselves tonight!"
Then he showed everyone his catch from his fish trap. He put the good ones in a basket to sell to Fu San later, and kept the ones that weren't good for his own consumption.
The fish trap yielded more than ten moray eels, a few common groupers, and quite a few mud crabs.
That concluded the haul from this voyage. Boss Fu placed the fish trap he was carrying on the deck, took a sip of water, and then went to set sail.
It was already past four in the afternoon. We arrived at the dock just in time to finish delivering the fish and have dinner.
The two boats headed towards the dock, one after the other. This time, Fu Liang's boat was in front. However, after about half an hour, a larger metal boat suddenly came from the side and almost collided with Fu Liang's boat.
"Damn it, do you even know how to sail a boat?!"
