Chapter 344 Rescuing the Stranded Orca

Upon hearing Fu Wan's question, Wang Xiuer thought for two seconds before replying, "It should have been more than half an hour."

About half an hour later, just as the tide was receding.

Fu Wan crouched down to check the orca's condition. The creature didn't have any wounds, and it even opened its eyes when it heard Fu Wan talking to Wang Xiuer.

Seeing its pitiful appearance, Fu Wan stroked its head several times with heartache.

"That's strange, it was very aggressive when someone touched it just now!"

Liu San Niang, who was standing nearby, exclaimed that everyone was very curious about such a large creature as the orca.

The main problem is that this guy can't be sold for money, and we don't dare to mess with him when we encounter him at sea.

Now that it can't move on the mudflats, quite a few daring people want to touch it, after all, this is the first time they have come so close to an orca.

When Fu Wan learned what was happening, Boss Fu also arrived with a bucket.

Upon seeing the orca's condition, he quickly gave instructions to the young men beside him.

"Quickly, use buckets to scoop up seawater and pour it over this orca."

Fu Wan took the bucket and was the first to get to work.

Not only that, she is now preoccupied with how to save the orca.

The tide receded about half an hour ago, and according to the recent pattern of the tides, it will take about three hours for it to rise again.

That is the perfect time for orcas to return to the sea.

Thinking about this, she was constantly relieved that it was nighttime instead of daytime, otherwise the bright sunlight and ultraviolet rays would have accelerated the death of the orca.

Bucket after bucket of seawater was poured over the orca, and it took a while for it to finally regain its strength.

Fu Wan tried to whistle softly, and the orca's large tail instantly began to sway, and its head couldn't help but lift up.

The password has been successfully verified.

This guy really is from the same pod as the little killer whale. He must have been one of the whales in the pod before. I wonder how he ended up alone.

He does recognize himself and can understand her whistling.

"Mom, do you have any smaller sardines at home?"

While comforting the orca, Fu Wan asked, "There are still more than three hours until high tide. Including the time it was stranded, four hours is actually quite difficult for an orca to endure."

Even feeding it some fish to replenish its energy would be good.

Before Ye Xiaocui could answer, Fu San immediately turned around and ran home.

"Ah Wan, wait here, I have some at my recycling station!"

When it comes to having a lot of fish, probably no one in the whole village has more fish than Fu San's family.

Before long, Fu San brought over a bucket of sardines. Fu Wan took a close look and saw that they were still very fresh.

"This was just picked up at the dock this afternoon. Ah Wan, see if this guy will eat it."

Fu Wan nodded, then grabbed a handful of sardines and brought them to the killer whale's mouth.

The orca didn't hesitate for long; it only paused for a couple of seconds before opening its mouth wide toward Fu Wan.

One handful of fish wasn't enough to fill its teeth, so Fu Wan grabbed two or three more handfuls before it finally closed its mouth and swallowed them.

"Good heavens, orcas can eat sardines too!"

Many of the onlookers were middle-aged women who instantly fell in love with the orca's adorable appearance.

However, when Fu Wan fed it fish, she unexpectedly discovered a scar on its mouth.

This reminded her of a time when, besides the baby orca, another orca had its mouth injured by a stingray's spine, and she had helped remove it. The wound was exactly the same as the one in front of her now.

Good heavens, could it really be that killer whale? If it is, then it's really unlucky.

While inwardly grumbling, Fu Wan grabbed a few more handfuls of sardines and stuffed them into the orca's mouth.

The sardines that Fu San brought were particularly fat, which is probably one of the reasons why the orca didn't reject them.

You should know that these guys are very picky eaters; only manta rays are their favorites.

"Third Uncle, I'll put the cost of this bucket of sardines on my tab. I'll settle the bill for you later."

Fu San was displeased upon hearing this and quickly waved his hand, saying, "What are you saying? It's just a bucket of sardines. Do you think I wouldn't be willing to treat an orca to it!"

He knew perfectly well that the orcas had played a part in catching those yellow croakers and the like.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have immediately run to inform Boss Fu and the others as soon as he saw the orca stranded at the dock.

Time passed by, and four hours was neither a long nor a short time.

By the time the bright moon had unknowingly climbed overhead, the number of villagers watching on the beach had decreased considerably.

In the end, only Fu Wan's family and Fu Liang were still guarding the orca. They would occasionally pour a bucket of seawater on the orca to prevent it from drying out.

"The tide is coming in!"

Fu Laoda was the first to notice that the tide was slowly rising, and Fu Wan also hurriedly stood on the rocks to look at the waves that were constantly crashing against the beach.

Sure enough, the seawater got closer and closer, and some of it was already hitting the killer whale's head.

The orca seemed to sense hope and began to grunt and moan.

The sound wasn't the baby killer whale's whimpering; it sounded more like a puppy whimpering.

"Look, what's that on the sea!"

Fu Ming held a flashlight and shone it on the sea from a distance.

Fu Wan looked up at the sound and saw several black dorsal fins emerging from the water, swimming swiftly in the sea.

That's... a pod of orcas!

Fu Wan whistled a long whistle in that direction, and sure enough, the next second, an orca with a small white dot on its dorsal fin leaped out of the water, making soft moaning noises before falling back into the water.

It's greeting itself!

"That's enough, don't come any closer!"

Fu Wan shouted, "These orcas are like children. If they get carried away playing now and all rush over with the rising tide, then saving them will be a real headache for me."

Fortunately, the baby killer whale could understand her words and did not swim towards the shore. Instead, it stopped about two or three hundred meters from the beach and occasionally leaped out of the water.

By this time, the seawater had already submerged the previously bare reefs, and a small portion of the great orca's body was submerged in the seawater.

With just a little more rise in the tide, the orca will be submerged and then, propelled by the tide, will swim back into the sea.

Fu Wan and the others didn't sit and wait. Instead, they ran over and tried their best to push the orca. However, they were still a bit too weak, and since the orca was an adult, they struggled for a long time but couldn't move it much.

Another half hour passed, and with a splash, the orca, having gathered its strength, leaped into the sea with the crashing wave, and then returned to the ocean with the wave.

Once back in the sea, the orca was no longer lifeless. It swam around happily for a while and then couldn't resist vigorously slapping the waves with its tail.

Then came another familiar soft moan, as if it were saying goodbye to Fu Wan and the others.

When Fu Wan whistled in response, the orca's dorsal fin sank into the sea. When it resurfaced, it had already returned to the orca pod and then swam together into the depths of the ocean.

"Alright, the orca has gone back, we should go home too."

Fu Laoda picked up all the buckets that had been overturned by the seawater, and Fu Ming and Fu Liang also went over to help.

"Oh dear, I have no idea what time it is."

They hadn't felt sleepy because their attention was on the orca, but now that the orca was gone, their eyes felt sore and they couldn't even lift their eyelids.

Upon hearing this, Fu Wan glanced at the watch on her wrist.

"It's getting late, it's 11 o'clock."

They need to hurry back and rest, since they have to go out to sea again early tomorrow morning after breakfast.

Fu Wan was also very much looking forward to it. She wanted to see what kind of things those Japanese devils were hiding in the sea!
