"Blue-spotted mackerel!"
Fu Wan recognized the fish that had burst out of the water at a glance.
"Mine is also a blue-spotted mackerel!"
Bai Qianzhou leaned over to look at himself, then awkwardly reeled in the fishing line.
His blue-spotted mackerel wasn't as big as Fu Wan's, but it still looked to weigh over five pounds.
Fu Wan's is much bigger, at least ten pounds.
The two of them reel in the line together, while also being careful not to let the line get tangled together.
When Fu Wan called out "blue-spotted mackerel," Ye Xiaocui dropped the crab in her hand and ran to pick up the net that was placed in the corner.
Upon seeing such a large blue-spotted mackerel, Ye Xiaocui's face immediately lit up with joy. Worried that such a large mackerel would be too big to catch with a hand net, she handed the hand net to Jiang Chunlan, who had rushed over, and then went to get an iron hook.
"Mother, hurry, now's the perfect opportunity!"
Seeing that the mackerel had given up struggling, Fu Wan hurriedly called to Ye Xiaocui.
"Hey, here it comes!"
Ye Xiaocui agreed, found the right direction with the iron hook in her hand, and stretched it out without hesitation.
Despite having gone on a long trek, the blue-spotted mackerel still struggled violently when the hook struck.
However, Ye Xiaocui was no pushover either. She pierced the fish's body with a single hook, and with the help of Boss Fu who came with a net, the two of them managed to scoop the mackerel onto the deck in just a few minutes.
Compared to Fu Wan's situation, which required three people to catch just one fish, Bai Qianzhou and Jiang Chunlan effortlessly scooped up the five-pound blue-spotted mackerel with a hand net.
Meanwhile, the fish on Qin Anning's side also surfaced, and Fu Ming was overjoyed, constantly shouting to Boss Fu and the others.
"Father, Mother, hurry up! This one has some color, and it looks like Su Mei to me!"
These days, the shad isn't a protected species. Fu Ming remembers that the one Fu Wan caught earlier sold for quite a bit of money.
His third uncle once told him that the merchants from the port city were most fond of this kind of fish.
Upon hearing this, Boss Fu quickly walked to the side of the boat. When he saw the sea fish that were several shades darker than the seawater, he couldn't help but kick Fu Ming.
"If you go out here, don't even mention that you're my son, Boss Fu, Su Mei won't recognize you."
That's not Su Mei, that's clearly a Redthroat!
Without waiting for Fu Ming's reaction, he scooped the net in his hand over the fish.
Fu Ming was somewhat bewildered. Boss Fu hadn't used much force with that kick, and he didn't feel any pain at all.
"What? Not Su Mei? Dad, are you sure you haven't mistaken me for someone else?"
"Su Mei, you idiot! Do you think I'd mistake your own father? This is a red-throated helmetfish! You moron!"
Fu Laoda cursed angrily and shoved the fish he had finally managed to catch in front of everyone.
Fu Wan was puzzled when she heard this, but now that she saw it, she realized that Fu Ming's kick was indeed well-deserved.
It is indeed a red-throated helmetfish.
The red-throated helmetfish is also called the gill-spotted helmetfish, and in the past, some people also called it the monk dragon.
The color of this fish differs greatly between its juvenile and adult stages. When it is young, it is entirely white, with many black spots, especially on its head, and distinct orange-red spots on its back.

It is called Monk Dragon because people used to think that the black spots on the head of the young Red-throated Helmetfish looked like the ordination scars on a monk's head, and it looked different from ordinary sea fish, so they simply called it Monk Dragon.
This type of fish also has males and females after reaching adulthood. Adult females are dark green with light green horizontal stripes on their bodies. Male helmetfish have obvious fleshy protrusions above their eyes on their heads, and their tail fins do not have obvious forks, but are more like the shape of a comb.

Adult redthroated helmetfish can grow quite large, with the largest reaching 1.2 meters in length. They typically prefer to hide in the mud and sand near reefs, feeding on crabs and small fish and shrimp.
Fu Ming looked at the fish in the net with curiosity. It was no exaggeration to say that this was the first time he had ever seen a red-throated helmetfish.
Mazu (the goddess of the sea) can attest that this color really does resemble that of Su Mei!
"Dad, I've never seen this kind of fish before!"
"There's nothing strange about not having seen it before. There are plenty of fish in the sea that you've never seen before."
Fu Laoda snorted coldly, then glanced at Qin Anning's curious expression and couldn't help but soften his tone to explain.
"I haven't seen it before, of course it's because this kind of fish is relatively rare, or rather, adult red-throated helmetfish are rare."
This fish is picky about food and timid, and it is rare to encounter even one or two adult red-throated helmetfish when diving to the bottom of the sea.
"You guys are lucky; you actually managed to catch a redthroat fish."
"Let me tell you, this fish tastes like pig's trotters, fatty but not greasy. We'll steam it when we get back, and everyone should try it!"
Fu Laoda chuckled again as he spoke. Fu Wan, noticing the fish still breathing with its mouth opening and closing, asked without thinking, "Dad, should we put it in the live water tank to keep it?"
"No, I'll clean it up now. This fish is delicate and won't survive; it would be a real shame if it died later!"
After finishing speaking, Boss Fu ran to find a clean knife and bled the helmeted fish on the spot.
With a single cut, the white flesh hidden beneath the blue-green skin was instantly revealed to everyone.
Fu Wan suddenly realized why it tasted like pig's trotters. Looking at the white, translucent meat, it must have a rich but not greasy texture.
Robert, who hadn't even finished processing the fish yet, was watching the excitement while devoutly praying to the goddess Mazu when he finally felt that familiar sensation in his hand.
The feeling came on so suddenly that his fishing rod was instantly pulled into a crescent shape.
"OMG! OMG!"
Robert kept exclaiming in surprise, clearly not expecting the fish to be so ferocious.
In his panic, he completely forgot his fish-catching skills.
The reel spun non-stop.
Upon seeing this, Fu Wan hurriedly stepped forward to give instructions.
"Robert, relax, don't panic. Let the line out first, don't let the rod be taut, or it will break easily."
Keep going, I believe in you!
Robert felt a strange sense of security when he heard Fu Wan's voice.
His hands followed Fu Wan's instructions unconsciously. He had made progress in fishing over the past six months, but he had never encountered a fish with such great strength.
Robert ran out of strength in less than half an hour.
Seeing this, Fu Ming quickly stepped forward to help and replaced Robert.
Compared to Robert, Fu Ming's fishing skills were much better, but the fish in the sea seemed to have inexhaustible energy. For every meter of fishing line it reeled in, it would turn around and pull out two meters.
It takes two meters to pull at least five meters, and its main feature is rebellion.
Fu Ming fished for another half hour. When Fu Laoda saw that he hadn't managed to reel in the fish after an hour, he became interested and took the fishing rod from his son.
During that hour, Fu Wan, Bai Qianzhou, Tom Jack, and the others continued to catch fish.
But they were all common fish. The largest was a nearly ten-pound bull mackerel that Fu Wan pulled up, and the smaller ones were more than ten small abalone weighing less than half a pound each.
"Quick, get the iron hook, it's a giant grouper too!"
After less than twenty minutes of walking, the fish finally couldn't hold on any longer, and its huge body slowly emerged from the water.
