Chapter 451 One day, I got so tired of picking at abalone

It's unrealistic to completely remove it.

At first, Boss Fu thought this one was good, and the next one was good too. But the capacity of the net was ultimately limited, and before long, the net in his hands became heavy.

After filling one net bag, he replaced it with another. Once all four net bags were full, Boss Fu rubbed his sore arms.

Who would have thought that one day I could get numb hands from picking at abalone?

Fu Wan couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at her father's expression.

She pointed towards the sea, signaling Boss Fu to surface and return. Boss Fu glanced longingly at the abalone on the reef; although they had already pried off the larger ones, there were still quite a few smaller ones left.

Actually, they're not small; four or five of them would probably weigh a pound.

Unfortunately, I'm too old to work now, and these black abalone are rare, so I should save more for breeding.

With that in mind, Boss Fu could only carry a series of nets and float upwards.

Embarrassingly, despite splashing water with both legs, he simply couldn't swim.

It's still too heavy.

Abalone is a heavy seafood product, and now with four nets filled to the brim, plus the resistance of the seawater, it's naturally even more difficult.

Fu Wan's side also had four net bags full. Although she could breathe in the sea, she couldn't carry these four net bags, which weighed over a hundred pounds in total, up there.

So after thinking about it, she decided to leave the two nets next to the rocks and come down to get them later.

Seeing this, Boss Fu hurriedly followed suit. He was also dumbfounded, thinking only of using brute force to carry the hundreds of pounds of abalone back in one go.

When the two surfaced, the people on the boat had been waiting for them for a long time.

"Father, Awan, quickly hand me the things!"

Fu Ming stood at the front, clinging to the side of the boat and reaching out to Fu Wan.

Fu Wan didn't stand on ceremony and simply untied the rope from the net and threw it over.

Her aim was pretty good, and Fu Ming was also very cooperative, taking the rope and immediately pulling the net onto the boat.

With the heavy net bag no longer in her hands, Fu Wan instantly felt much lighter.

Boss Fu tossed the rope to Fu Liang and Ye Lin, and soon they pulled up four nets full of abalone.

"Awan, Father, hurry up and get on the boat!"

Fu Ming tossed the abalone aside and reached out to pull Fu Wan.

Fu Wan shook her head, "No, brother, there are still two bags left!"

"What?! There's more?!"

Fu Ming was completely dumbfounded. He thought four bags of abalone was already a lot, but he didn't expect there to be more at the bottom of the sea.

"Yes, we'll catch our breath and then go down and get it up!"

Fu Wan added that while staying in the water, she didn't feel cold, but once she got on the boat and the wind blew, she felt a bit chilly.

So they might as well just stay on the surface of the sea and stretch their arms before swimming back down to the seabed.

However, having learned from their previous experience, the two moved much faster than before.

With nothing going wrong underwater, the two quickly surfaced again, carrying their nets.

Now Fu Ming, Fu Liang, and Ye Lin were quite familiar with the process. Fu Ming and Fu Liang were in charge of pulling the net, while Ye Lin was responsible for helping Fu Wan and Boss Fu get on the boat.

"Hurry up, dry your hair and change your clothes!"

Ye Xiaocui had already prepared dry towels and ginger soup. Fu Wan wiped herself casually and then let Boss Fu go into the cabin first to change clothes.

Her mermaid suit kept her warm, unlike Boss Fu's clothes.

But Boss Fu was still excited. After quickly putting on a clean set of clothes, he came out feeling very proud.

"How's this abalone? Is it good?"

Fu Mingzheng put the abalone into the fish box. These abalone were all alive and needed to be kept alive in seawater.

"Dad, you guys are amazing! That's a total of one or two hundred pounds of abalone!"

Fu Ming sighed in admiration, while Fu Liang continued to praise him even as he was busy.

"What do you mean one or two hundred pounds? I think it could be two or three hundred pounds!"

He had just been carrying two net bags of abalone, and to be honest, they weighed as much as two bags of sweet potatoes.

Fu Wan smiled, took a sip of ginger soup, and then looked at the fish that Ye Xiaocui and the others had almost finished picking.

"Dad, we've almost finished with the trawl catch. Let's do one more haul while we still have time!"

"Alright, alright, I was so focused on the abalone that I forgot about the trawl nets!"

Boss Fu slapped his thigh and hurriedly called to the other men.

"Amin, Liang, and Lin, let's go, let's put the trawl net down first before we catch these abalone!"

It takes at least two or three hours to haul the trawl nets in, so these abalone won't die anytime soon on the deck.

"Ah Wan, go change your clothes first. It's windy late at night, you'll catch a cold!"

Jiang Chunlan was also infected by Ye Xiaocui. When she saw Fu Wan picking out fish with her, still in her clothes, she couldn't help but nag.

Fu Wan had just given her cabin to Boss Fu, but then forgot to change her clothes.

Since her diving work for the day was over and she had had a good time, she figured it wouldn't hurt to change her clothes.

"Okay, I'll go change it right away."

After changing her clothes, all that was left on the ground were some small mackerel and sardines. These kinds of fish didn't fetch much of a price, so Ye Xiaocui simply had Fu Ming shovel them into the fish basket.

After washing them clean, they can be sold to Fu San for two or three cents a pound.

"Ah Wan, do you still want these sardines back at the canning factory?"

Fu Ming bent down to clean up the miscellaneous fish on the deck, but didn't forget to look up and ask Fu Wan.

Fu Wan shook her head.

"I don't know either. Let's talk about it when we get back. If the cannery doesn't need it, we can sell it to Uncle San."

Last time they took several hundred kilograms of sardines to the cannery, but I don't know if they've used them all.

After finishing his work, Fu Ming rubbed his stomach. He had eaten quite a lot for dinner, so why did he feel hungry now?

Fu Wan noticed Fu Ming's movements and thought he had an upset stomach.

"Brother, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm just a little hungry, probably from working too long!"

When facing Fu Wan, Fu Ming naturally told her the truth.

Hungry? No problem. The stove that had been lit earlier was still hot, so Fu Wan added a piece of charcoal and washed a lot of shrimp and crabs, then put them in a stainless steel pot to steam.

This steaming method doesn't take long either; once everyone has cleaned the deck, the food in the pot is ready.

"Come on, everyone, wash your hands and come have some food!"

Fu Wan greeted them, and luckily there were several large plates on the boat. She put the steamed shrimp and crab on the plates, and then put a fish and a few black abalone in to continue steaming.

Seeing this, Ye Xiaocui hesitated, then thought for a moment and said nothing.

My daughter brought the food back, but it's already in the pot. How could she possibly pick it out?

Eat it; what you eat is a bonus.

Fu Ming and Fu Liang felt that eating like this wasn't enough, but luckily there were some basic seasonings on the boat.

The two of them prepared some soy sauce and wasabi, then dipped the shrimp and crab in it, and ate it with great relish.

After eating and drinking their fill, and seeing that it was only eleven o'clock, Ye Xiaocui and Jiang Chunlan couldn't stay awake any longer and went into the cabin to take a nap.

However, Fu Ming and his companions then got the idea to go fishing.
