The elevator slowly ascended, the numbers flashing sequentially.
It finally came to a steady stop on the 32nd floor.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, Su Qingyao and the others stepped out, only to find Liu You already waiting at the elevator entrance, standing ramrod straight.
With a perfectly measured professional smile on her face, Liu You said, "President Su, Mr. Lu, Secretary Leng, this way please." She bowed slightly and gestured for them to proceed.
We were all old acquaintances, so there wasn't much formality between us.
Su Qingyao smiled faintly and nodded slightly in response.
The group then followed Liu You toward Mu Shaohua's office.
The high heels clicked crisply and rhythmically on the polished floor, echoing in the quiet corridor.
"Squeak—"
The office door was slowly pushed open.
Mu Shaohua looked up at the sound, a gentle smile on her face, and said, "President Su, you're right on time! I thought you'd be late!"
You can't hit someone who's smiling. Although the two of them had a bit of a disagreement because of some things Lu Qingzhou did, they didn't really have any real grudges against each other.
Su Qingyao smiled in response and replied sincerely, "Since we are here to discuss cooperation with President Mu, we must arrive early to show that we are here with full sincerity."
Mu Shaohua smiled faintly, her gaze finally settling on Lu Qingzhou.
She stepped forward, walked to Lu Qingzhou's side, affectionately took his arm, and said softly, "Honey, why don't you go sit next door and have a cup of tea?"
Lu Qingzhou glanced at Su Qingyao subconsciously. Seeing that she had no objection, he nodded and said, "Alright, you two can talk slowly. Be sure to talk calmly, after all, it's a cooperation between companies. I don't need to say more, right?"
Even then, he didn't forget to give the two of them a heads-up.
"I understand," Mu Shaohua replied.
He then said to Liu You, "Secretary Liu, please take my husband to the next room to rest."
Liu You immediately stepped forward and respectfully replied, "Yes, President Mu."
Afterwards, Lu Qingzhou followed Liu You to an office next door.
"Mr. Lu, please have a seat. I'll make you a cup of tea," Liu You said politely.
Lu Qingzhou nodded and smiled, "Thank you, but it's no need to go to that trouble. Why don't you go and listen to what they're talking about?"
He knew in his heart that Mu Shaohua asked him to stay away, perhaps because she didn't want him to get involved in the company's cooperation matters, so as not to affect the judgment of both parties.
He also thought this was a good idea, since it was a collaboration between companies, and he didn't want his presence to cause any concerns for either party.
Without him, they can consider issues more purely from the perspective of the company's interests.
Liu You still insisted on making Lu Qingzhou a cup of tea. "Mr. Lu, please have some tea. I'll go take a look first." She gently placed the teacup in front of Lu Qingzhou and said softly.
Lu Qingzhou nodded and then said, "Tell me immediately if anything happens."
Liu You responded and quickly returned to Mu Shaohua's office.
Inside the office,
Su Qingyao and Mu Shaohua sat on opposite sofas, but the atmosphere was completely different from other cooperation negotiations. It gave people a strange feeling, as if they were chatting with long-lost friends rather than negotiating.
Mu Shaohua gently put down her teacup and looked at Su Qingyao across from her.
With a faint smile on his lips, he slowly said, "I have reviewed your company's cooperation proposal. However, we need to modify some terms regarding the risks, as well as the profit distribution. Our company will take 55%."
Upon hearing this, Su Qingyao's delicate brows furrowed slightly.
She thought to herself that the conditions offered by their company were already quite good, but she didn't expect Mu Shaohua to still make harsh demands on key issues.
Her expression darkened slightly, and she immediately stood up.
With a hint of displeasure in his tone, he said, "President Mu, isn't what you're doing a bit unseemly? Everyone's investment ratio is equal, so why should your company take 50% more?"
Mu Shaohua remained calm and composed, looking directly at Su Qingyao, and said indifferently, "Just because your company took the initiative to propose the cooperation, I think it's not unreasonable for me to ask for an extra 50%."
Su Qingyao's face turned cold, and she replied without backing down, "Impossible, it can only be fifty percent each."
The atmosphere in the office instantly became tense, and a fierce confrontation seemed to have just begun.
Mu Shaohua quietly observed Su Qingyao, the pen in her hand twirling nimbly on her jade-like fingers, making a soft rustling sound.
For a moment, the entire office seemed to be muted, falling into a deathly silence, with only the faint sound of airflow coming from the air conditioner vents occasionally audible.
After a while,
Mu Shaohua chuckled, breaking the silence, and slowly said, "If you want to make this cooperation happen, I don't have to ask for more than 50%. I can change my terms."
Su Qingyao stared coldly at Mu Shaohua's mischievous smile, her nails digging unconsciously into her palms.
Suppressing her dissatisfaction, she coldly asked, "What are the conditions?"
Mu Shaohua's lips curled into a slight smile, revealing a confident air.
She said, word by word, "I want four extra days each month from you for Lu Qingzhou to spend with me and Momo. For a year."
Su Qingyao instantly understood the meaning behind Mu Shaohua's words, and her anger flared up instantly.
She clenched her fists tightly, cursing inwardly, "That despicable woman, so that's what she was planning!"
Lu Qingzhou only spends three days a week with her and Zhouzhou, which is 12 days a month. Subtracting four days leaves Lu Qingzhou with her for only 8 days. This is clearly an attempt to sow discord between her and Lu Qingzhou.
