Chapter 219 Falling into the Water, Lin Yinuo Jumps in to Save Him

Those few seconds felt like an eternity to them.

Finally, with a splash,

Lin Yinuo brought Lu Qingzhou to the surface.

When Mu Shaohua and the others saw the two of them emerge, they quickly reached out and, together with Lin Yinuo, pulled Lu Qingzhou ashore.

Lu Qingzhou lay on the ground, panting heavily, his chest heaving violently, and his face was somewhat pale.

Lin Yinuo knelt beside him, her hair disheveled, her face still wet with droplets, indistinguishable between lake water and sweat.

She patted his back urgently and asked anxiously, "How are you? Are you alright?" Her voice trembled with concern.

After coughing a few times, Lu Qingzhou slowly sat up. Looking at Lin Yinuo, whose face was full of concern, his first thought was not gratitude.

It was actually the awkward misunderstanding that happened underwater earlier—damn it, birth, birth...!

He looked a little embarrassed, scratched his head, and said softly, "Thank you, Yinuo. If it weren't for you, I would have been in danger today."

Lin Yinuo smiled gently, looking at the people surrounding him.

She stood up slightly, quietly making way for him. Her wet clothes clung tightly to her body, outlining her graceful figure.

Su Qingyao's eyes were slightly red, like a wronged little rabbit, and she scolded, "How could you be so careless? You scared us to death. Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

As she spoke, she reached out and gently touched Lu Qingzhou's forehead, afraid that he might catch a cold and develop a fever.

Lu Qingzhou smiled and tried to appear relaxed. "It's okay, it's okay, I'm fine."

His voice was still a little hoarse, with a hint of relief at surviving the ordeal.

Mu Shaohua chimed in, "That's right, we'll have to be more careful in the future."

She frowned slightly, her eyes filled with worry. Although she was blaming them, both of them felt more fear and heartache.

at the same time,

Thinking of how Lin Yinuo had risked her life to save Lu Qingzhou from the water, I felt grateful.

But deep down, she was still somewhat bothered by Lin Yinuo's special feelings for Lu Qingzhou.

But that feeling of jealousy didn't last long before it quietly dissipated.

Leng Yue stood to the side, her hands unconsciously clutching the hem of her clothes.

She tried to hide her nervousness and stepped forward, saying in a casual tone, "It's alright, it's good that you're okay. I'll let you go first next time we go fishing."

Lu Qingzhou was speechless, thinking to himself: I fell down because I slipped, what a misunderstanding.

But now that he was soaking wet, he didn't bother to explain and just hoped to change into dry clothes as soon as possible.

After all that commotion, everyone lost interest in fishing.

Lu Qingzhou stood up and looked at Lin Yinuo, who was wearing a thin veil.

Filled with guilt, she felt she had dragged Lin Yinuo into this mess. "Yinuo, I'm so sorry, your clothes are all wet."

Lin Yinuo looked at herself, her hair still dripping wet, and smiled slightly. "It's okay, I'll dry in the sun for a while."

She tried to appear relaxed, but her slightly trembling body betrayed her discomfort.

Upon hearing this, the group realized that she must have brought no clothes, which was unacceptable.

Mu Shaohua immediately stepped forward, took Lin Yinuo's hand, which felt icy cold to the touch, and said apologetically, "If it weren't for him, you wouldn't have gotten your clothes wet in the water. I happened to bring two sets of clean clothes with me today, let me take you to change."

Lin Yinuo had actually been thinking that if she didn't have any clothes to change into, she would have to go back early, but after hearing what Mu Shaohua said...

She was overjoyed and changed into clean clothes, so she didn't have to rush back, since Lu Qingzhou was still here.

Thinking about it, she nodded and replied, "Then I'll trouble you, Sister Shaohua."

Sister Shaohua?

Mu Shaohua's lips twitched slightly; Lin Yinuo really knew how to get close to him.

Seeing that Mu Shaohua's expression was a little off, Lin Yinuo said again, "Brother Qingzhou calls you Sister Shaohua. Now we should all be considered friends. You don't mind if I call you that, do you?" She blinked her innocent big eyes and looked sincere.

Mu Shaohua forced a smile, "What are you saying? This is how friends should be."

But in her heart she was thinking: If it weren't for the fact that you saved my husband, I... I wouldn't talk to you at all...

Lu Qingzhou wrung out the water from his clothes, and water droplets dripped down. He shook the water off his hands and suggested to the others, "We've caught quite a few fish already, so why don't we go back and have a barbecue? I'll go to the owner's place and see if he has any other ingredients, and ask him to get some."

Everyone nodded in agreement, and Leng Yue quickly packed up the fishing rods she had borrowed from the shopkeeper.

She carefully unhooked the fish, wound the fishing line around it, and then pulled up a few lively fish before quickly following behind the group.

The group walked along the winding path toward the guesthouse.

Before long, they arrived at the guesthouse. Zhang Ruoshui was sitting in the courtyard drinking tea when she saw the group return. Her gaze fell on Lin Yinuo, and her eyes widened instantly.

At this moment, Lu Qingzhou and Lin Yinuo were both soaking wet, with strands of hair sticking to their faces, their clothes tightly wrapped around their bodies, and still covered with a bit of seaweed, making them look somewhat disheveled.

Zhang Ruoshui hurriedly went to greet her, her face full of surprise and confusion, and said, "Yinuo, what are you doing here? What's going on here?"

As she spoke, she pointed to the clothes the two of them were wearing, covered in seaweed, her brows furrowed tightly.

Lu Qingzhou looked annoyed and pulled his mother aside, saying sullenly, "Mom, let's talk about it later. I'm still wet and feel terrible."

As he spoke, water dripped from his body onto the ground, forming a small puddle.
