After downing a glass of wine, Su Qingyao immediately felt a spicy, refreshing sensation stimulating her taste buds and reaching her nerves. She slammed the glass down on the table and said defiantly, "Again."
Just as Lu Qingzhou was about to get up to dissuade him, Mu Shaohua gently pressed her fingertips against his knee.
He remained frozen in his seat.
Watching Su Qingyao slam the empty glass heavily on the table: "Again!" The sound seemed to hit his heart, making his temples throb.
"Listen to her, let's continue."
Mu Shaohua picked up his wine glass, creating a subtle mirror image of Su Qingyao's action.
Their gazes collided in mid-air, like two opposing female beasts, neither willing to look away first.
Leng Yue hurriedly poured wine for the two of them, the bottle neck and the rim of the glass making a crisp, crackling sound that was particularly clear in the oppressive living room.
Su Qingyao snorted coldly, "Come on, drink up! Who's afraid of who? Whoever can't drink it is a little dog."
Mu Shaohua nodded, "Okay, Sister Lengyue, pour the wine."
Leng Yue said "Oh," and then filled their glasses again.
Su Qingyao and Mu Shaohua both picked up their wine glasses at the same time, but this time they did not clink them together.
Neither of them would back down in terms of momentum.
Lu Qingzhou hurriedly picked up his wine glass and said awkwardly, "Um, let's drink together."
Leng Yue reacted quickly, hurriedly picking up her wine glass and timidly saying, "Together...together."
Su Qingyao glanced at Lu Qingzhou and Leng Yue, said nothing, and downed the wine in her cup in one gulp.
The group downed twelve cups in a row, drinking a whole month's worth of "Moonlight Red" liquor.
Lu Qingzhou glanced at the group and said again, "Let's drink slowly and have some food."
As he spoke, he put some food into each of their bowls.
This time, Mu Shaohua didn't stop her and drank twelve cups in a row, after which she also felt a bit uncomfortable in her stomach.
She stared calmly ahead.
Su Qingyao was in no better shape, her eyes fixed on Mu Shaohua, as if trying to find a flaw in him.
As Leng Yue drank the twelfth glass of wine, she felt the floor beneath her feet begin to soften and undulate.
I had drunk at least six ounces in my bedroom earlier, and now I've drunk just as much.
The initial effects of the alcohol, which had begun to dissipate, started to slowly gather again.
She struggled to hold onto the edge of the table, the figures in front of her shrouded in a hazy white mist.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Su Qingyao's flushed cheeks and Mu Shaohua's still indifferent expression.
She bit her tongue, reminding herself: 'I can't fall down, at least not before the "First Madam" and "Second Madam" are drunk.'
She staggered to her feet.
Lu Qingzhou watched Leng Yue's swaying back and subconsciously uttered a reminder: "Slow down, don't fall."
The moment the words fell, a cold laugh came from Su Qingyao beside her.
Lu Qingzhou pretended not to hear, his gaze wandering aimlessly.
A moment later,
When Leng Yue returned with hot tea, wisps of white steam were still rising from the rim of the porcelain cup.
She lowered her eyes and silently placed the teacups in front of Su Qingyao and Mu Shaohua respectively.
The moment Mu Shaohua took the teacup, he deliberately brushed the back of her hand with his slightly cool fingertips.
The touch seemed to carry a soothing quality: "Thank you, Sister Lengyue."
This intimate gesture felt like a thorn piercing Su Qingyao's heart.
She stared intently at the curve of Mu Shaohua's lips, her nails digging deeply into her palms.
He gritted his teeth inwardly, 'Anyone can be a good person, right? I'll do it even better than you. You'd better not regret it, you vixen!'
When Su Qingyao picked up her teacup, her face suddenly broke into a familiar, sweet smile.
When Wenrou gently said "Thank you, Yueyue" to Lengyue, the air seemed to freeze.
The group was slightly taken aback by her sudden change.
I'm a bit confused.
Mu Shaohua swirled his teacup, watching the ripples spread across the water, a sense of suspicion rising within him. 'What's this woman up to?'
She didn't speak, but her gaze unconsciously lingered on Su Qingyao a few more times.
Leng Yue was also unsure why Su Qingyao's attitude had suddenly changed.
She opened her mouth, and after a long pause, she managed to squeeze out a few words through gritted teeth, "No...no need to be so polite."
Then he turned around and brewed two more cups, giving one to Lu Qingzhou and placing one in front of himself, having done all that.
She slowly walked back to her seat and sat down.
Su Qingyao slowly sipped her tea and gently placed it on the table.
With his arms crossed and a composed expression, he looked at Mu Shaohua and said, "Drinking like this isn't quite right. How about we play a game? Let's keep it simple: rock-paper-scissors. Whoever loses drinks, okay?"
Mu Shaohua spread his hands and shrugged, his meaning clear: 'Bring it on.'
Lu Qingzhou continued, "Then who should we start with?"
Su Qingyao gently pulled out the chair behind her and gracefully walked to Lu Qingzhou's side.
Her skirt brushed against Lu Qingzhou's knees, her fingertips gripping his wrist tightly, and she pulled him close.
"Honey, come sit here and cheer me on. Just watch, this is a contest between us women."
Mu Shaohua smiled faintly, not arguing with her about it, and let her pull Lu Qingzhou over.
Lu Qingzhou sat down next to Su Qingyao, looking completely bewildered. He sensed that something was off about this fiery girl, very off.
He gave an awkward laugh. "Okay, I'll support you."
Su Qingyao kissed Lu Qingzhou on the cheek and said gently, "Thank you, husband."
The living room was unusually quiet.
Su Qingyao and Mu Shaohua officially began a new round of competition.
"Rock, paper, scissors,"
The two spoke at the same time, and Su Qingyao lost the first round; her scissors met Mu Shaohua's hammer.
