Duan Meimei was beaten until she had no strength left and stared at Jiang Ranran with dull eyes.
Seeing that Jiang Ranran was about to run out of energy, Gu Tingchen hurried forward and pulled Jiang Ranran away.
"Ranran, don't get excited. You are injured too." Gu Tingchen was worried about Jiang Ranran's health. Anger is bad for the body. What's more, Jiang Ranran was injured before. Getting angry again would not be good for her injury.
Jiang Ranran was unwilling to give up and yelled at Duan Meimei: "I wish I could kill you! It's fine if you hurt me, but you actually dared to hurt An An and Xiao Yu! You're a devil!"
Duan Meimei, who was scolded, looked at Jiang Ranran's furious expression and giggled in disgust.
"Ah, Jiang Ranran, I will kill you, Jiang Ranran!" Duan Meimei growled. Only then did the madman dare to speak wildly while being tied up and unable to fight back.
Jiang Ranran was about to go over and deal with her, but was stopped by Gu Tingchen.
"Ranran, you are tired. I will take you upstairs to rest. Leave this woman to me." Gu Tingchen frowned.
Jiang Ranran snuggled in Gu Tingchen's arms. She had just lost her temper, and now she was like a deflated ball, her whole body soft and without any strength.
Seeing this, Gu Tingchen picked up Jiang Ranran and carried her horizontally, then walked straight upstairs.
"Where is Xiaoyu?" Gu Tingchen walked to the corner of the stairs and met a servant. He asked.
The servant replied, "She has been resting upstairs."
"Take this woman to the basement and don't let Xiaoyu see her, it will upset her." Gu Tingchen ordered.
Jiang Ranran looked at Gu Tingchen like this, and her heart was moved. Gu Tingchen always took care of her so carefully, and she couldn't help but feel a little touched.
——
In the hospital, An An kept falling asleep and waking up, but he never regained his energy.
Su Cheng sat beside the bed, looking at her with affectionate eyes.
By nightfall, Su Cheng had been guarding for a whole afternoon, and An An finally opened his eyes.
Su Cheng perked up all of a sudden and leaned over to An An: "An An, how do you feel?"
"It hurts so much..." An An frowned. She felt her stomach was empty and aching slightly.
When Su Cheng heard this, his heart was gripped tightly and tears almost came out.
"It's okay, it must be because she just had the surgery." Su Cheng forced himself to comfort her.
An An curled her lips and gave a pale and forced smile, as if to reassure Su Cheng.
"Can I see the child?" An An asked weakly, but there was a gleam in her eyes. She was looking forward to seeing the child.
Su Cheng's smile paused, his eyes dodging, "The child is still in the incubator, the doctor is taking care of him, we can't see him yet."
"You can look through the glass. You can look. You can take pictures and show them to me." An An got to the bottom of the matter and insisted on seeing the child.
Su Cheng hesitated, the corners of his mouth twitched slightly, and his expression became extremely unnatural. He was about to stop pretending.
The child is gone, but he insists on suppressing his sadness and telling An An that the child is still alive!
His child is alive? Where is he?!
A tear fell from the corner of Su Cheng's eye and was caught by An An.
An An's face suddenly turned even paler. She trembled her lips nervously and asked tremblingly, "Su Cheng, tell me the truth, where is the child? Where is the child?!"
"Child..." Su Cheng had just uttered two words when his throat choked and he couldn't continue.
Su Cheng turned his face away and let his tears flow like a dam bursting.
Son, their children have gone to heaven.
"What's wrong with the child?" An An's voice was trembling violently.
Su Cheng wiped his tears, turned around, and tried to calm down and told An An: "I told you, you have to be strong, An An, I can't live without you, I really can't live without you."
"I'm asking you, where is my child?!" An An shouted almost crazily.
Su Cheng sniffed and cried, "The child is gone, An An, the child is gone..."
After saying that, he lay down on the side of the hospital bed in despair. A grown man, he sobbed and his shoulders twitched like a child.
Gone? An An felt like she was struck by lightning!
An An suddenly had trouble breathing, her hands tightly gripping the bedsheets. The child she had been carrying for six months was clearly still in her belly yesterday, and today he was gone?!
"I don't believe it. I want to find my child!" An An struggled to get out of bed.
Su Cheng suddenly stood up, held An An's shoulders, and told her with red and swollen eyes: "An An! Accept the reality, the child is gone, gone!"
With a slap, An An slapped Su Cheng hard in the face.
This slap stunned Su Cheng. He stared at An An in a daze, as if he didn't understand what she meant.
"The child is not dead, not dead!" An An roared in a low voice, like an angry beast.
Su Cheng forced himself to calm down, "An An, the child is gone. We can try again, but you can't collapse!"
After Su Cheng's persuasion, An An finally believed his words that the child was gone.
An An covered her face with her hands, tears falling silently.
The air in the ward seemed to freeze. After an unknown amount of time, An An gently let go of her hand and asked Su Cheng with a dull expression, "Where's Jiang Ranran? Where did she go?"
When this name was mentioned, Su Cheng's heart skipped a beat, as if hit by a stone.
"She went back. I sent her back." Su Cheng said coldly.
An An was silent for a moment, then said calmly, "It's not her fault. I insisted on going to see Duan Meimei, and ended up getting hurt by mistake. I killed my child myself."
Speaking of this, An An's eyes became moist again.
Su Cheng originally thought that An An would hate Jiang Ranran as much as he did, but he didn't expect that at this time, An An was still defending Jiang Ranran.
"An An, it's her..." Su Cheng wanted to continue complaining.
"It's not her, it's me." An An looked at Su Cheng with certainty, and Su Cheng held back what he wanted to say next.
An An wiped her tears and told Su Cheng with some worry: "She is my best friend. If something happens to me, she must be as sad as me. Besides, it's not her fault. She has to bear your resentment. Su Cheng, we have already lost our child. We can't be without friends anymore."
Su Cheng looked at An An indifferently, feeling mixed emotions for a moment.
"I don't want to either, but I can't accept it..." Su Cheng murmured.
"I can't accept it either, but it's not her fault." An An said, tears gently running down her cheeks. She felt even sadder than Su Cheng. For a moment, Su Cheng felt that he had indeed done something wrong and wrongly blamed Jiang Ranran.
He nodded and said, "When you are discharged from the hospital, I will come to your house to apologize in person."
Deep down, Su Cheng didn't want to lose his friend Jiang Ranran.
