Chapter 224 Are you okay?

"Are you okay?"

"What?" Xia Yunxi didn't understand.

"Car accident." The man's cold voice had a unique tone. Looking at her busy in the kitchen with an apron on, he felt a little relieved for some reason.

"It's nothing, just a simple rear-end collision. I didn't expect it to be turned into a conspiracy theory and even made the news." Xia Yunxi reacted, but paused. "And they even dug up something that happened so long ago. But the new news they dug up must have been leaked by my stepsister."

"So, she intended revenge?"

Xia Yunxi didn't think there was anything to hide: "Yes, there are still very few good stepmothers in this world."

As he spoke, he had already served the noodles and put the tomatoes and eggs he had cooked on top. It was a very simple bowl of noodles, without any technical requirements. It might be a bit unfair to Li Hanting to let him eat it.

But this is all Xia Yunxi is capable of.

Fortunately, the man was not picky. He sat at the dining table and finished his meal quickly and elegantly.

Xia Yunxi originally wanted to ask him if he was full, but Li Hanting had already wiped his hands, stood up from the dining table and went upstairs.

Xia Yunxi looked at his back and opened her mouth, thinking that she had said everything she wanted to say. He should have listened to her, right? If she continued to move forward, she would probably only be annoyed.

After figuring this out, Xia Yunxi stood up and cleaned up the dishes. After washing and cleaning them in the kitchen, she slowly went upstairs to her room.

However, even though she knew that she was pursuing him too closely and might be annoyed by him, Xia Yunxi still had trouble falling asleep because she didn't hear that voice of assurance.

Two days have passed since the news was exposed, and she is worried that if she does not respond, the message may be confirmed.

Although she was worried, Xia Yunxi did not go to look for Li Hanting again. She fell asleep in a daze, but her sleep was not sound.

The dream was very complicated, with many bizarre people and things!

The next day, Xia Yunxi woke up late as expected. When she opened her eyes, she didn't know where she was for a moment. It was only when a cold little hand landed on her forehead that she realized what was happening. She turned her head and looked, only to be met with a pair of clear, innocent eyes.

Seeing that she woke up, her eyes lit up and she didn't say anything, but Xia Yunxi recognized her at a glance.

"Jinchen."

"Mom, Dad, let's eat..." Li Jinchen half-lay on the edge of the bed, tilting his little head back.

"You mean, Dad didn't go out today and was waiting for me to eat." Xia Yunxi guessed.

Li Jinchen nodded, and Xia Yunxi smiled. She patted his little head and said, "Jinchen, you have to learn to express clearly what you want to say. You see, only when your mother understands you can she guess what you mean. But what if those who don't understand you don't understand what you say? What should you do then?"

Li Jinchen blinked his eyes, "Then, don't tell me?"

"You have to speak up. You can't be a mute." Xia Yunxi picked him up and put him on her lap. "Come, repeat what you just said to mom. Let me make it clear, if you can't express yourself clearly, mom won't go to dinner."

Li Jinchen opened his eyes brightly. He didn't expect that his mother would also learn from his brother and act like a rogue.

For some reason, Li Jinchen felt a little depressed. Having a younger brother was already difficult to comfort, and now there was a mother...

Li Jinchen complained a little, but still said obediently: "Dad, let me call Mom to eat."

"That's right!" Xia Yunxi smiled and scratched his little nose: "Go down first, mom will come to you after she gets dressed and washes her face."

Li Jinchen nodded, slid off the bed, and then ran out of the room.

Xia Yunxi shook her head and laughed. After washing up, she went downstairs and saw the man reading a newspaper at the dining table.

Breakfast has been served on the table, but no one has started to eat. Even the two little ones are sitting in their seats with their heads touching each other, muttering to themselves, and no one knows what they are saying.

Xia Yunxi walked over and asked: "Why don't you eat?"

"Waiting for Mommy." Xia Yuan raised his head and said sadly.

Xia Yunxi smiled, "Sorry, Mommy got up late."

Xia Yunxi came down. Aunt Lin originally wanted to come over to help set the table and take care of the two little ones, but when she saw Xia Yunxi taking the initiative to serve rice and pick up dishes for the father and his two sons, Aunt Lin, who was standing at the kitchen door, stopped in her tracks, raised a kind smile on her face, and returned to the kitchen.

What a great opportunity this is to create an atmosphere for Ms. Xia and her husband. Look how harmonious the family of four is sitting together for dinner.

She'd better not ruin the atmosphere.

The family members were not talkative, so they finished their meal in silence. When Li Hanting put down his chopsticks, he said lightly, "Come to the study later."

Then he stood up and left the table.

Xia Yu'an watched his father go upstairs and asked his mother in confusion, "Mommy, why did Dad ask you to go to the study?"

"Of course we have something to discuss." Xia Yunxi said as she wiped the corner of his mouth.

Xia Yu'an's eyes lit up: "Are you discussing taking us out to play? Mommy, Dad didn't go to the company today, and you didn't go to work either. Let's go out and play as a family."

Looking at the little guy's bright eyes and the obvious yearning on Li Jinchen's face, Xia Yunxi didn't know how to refuse these two little guys.

But she really can't go out now. She hasn't turned on her cell phone and doesn't know what the public opinion on the Internet is like today?

"Not today, because Dad has other things to do, so..."

Xia Yunxi's words were euphemistic, but Li Jinchen still couldn't help but feel disappointed. Xia Yu'an didn't feel much, and then asked, "What about next time?"

"Next time - I'll talk to your father?" Xia Yunxi asked in a negotiating tone.

The two little guys immediately laughed happily and shouted that they could go out and play with mom and dad.

Xia Yunxi sat at the dining table and watched them making a fuss, feeling a little guilty. She thought that sending the two children back to their father and letting them stay together would be better than letting them wander around with her.

But she forgot that they also need companionship, and what they need more in their hearts is a complete family.

Mom and Dad are by my side, just like any ordinary family. We don’t need much money or wealth... we just need a complete home and complete love.

Looking at the two little guys happily jumping on the sofa, Xia Yunxi suddenly felt heavy and depressed.

I feel that I have let these two little ones grow up in an environment without love. Isn't this an irreparable regret for the children's growth path?
