Chapter 238 Looking Happy

Han Meijuan walked out of the store after finishing her night shift and looked up to see her brother standing not far from the store entrance waiting for her.

"Brother, why are you here? Did our dad catch a cold while coming to help today?"

It was only after Qiao Baozhu reminded Han Meijuan that she realized that her old father came to help with the work today and went home without even drinking a sip of hot water.

"Dad is fine, he's just mad at your sister-in-law."

Brother Cui looked helpless. His wife was always so talkative. He had quarreled with her before, but she was always the same and would go out and talk again after a while.

"Alas, sister-in-law's temper can't be changed. Let our father be more forgiving and stop getting angry."

Han Mejuan was angry at Cui Yaofeng for her bad mouth. Not only did she fail to buy the coal at the discounted price, but she also offended her boss and colleagues.

If Boss Qiao had not been so broad-minded and generous that he specially left a few tons of coal for her, her family would have had to buy expensive coal to survive the winter.

However, she didn't want to tell her eldest brother about this for the time being. She had to wait until her eldest sister-in-law realized her mistake.

"Why can't she change? Why should our family accommodate her? I won't spoil her. She is capable, so let her go back to her parents' home and find a solution. If she can't think of a solution, she shouldn't come back. We can have some peace and quiet."

Brother Han had long wanted to give his wife a good beating, but unfortunately his parents always advised him to be more tolerant, after all, Cui Yaofeng had given birth to two children for the family.

It is very common for families to beat their wives these days. Cui Yaofeng, with her temper, would have been beaten into submission by a tough and violent man long ago.

However, the old couple of the Han family were kind and honest. They believed that a harmonious family would bring prosperity to all, and they always tolerated Cui Yaofeng, the daughter-in-law. As a result, she became more and more arrogant. She not only bullied her sister-in-law, plotted against her husband's family, but also caused trouble everywhere.

Han Meijuan only found out when she returned home that Cui Yaofeng had gone to her workplace and caused a scene, which completely offended her parents-in-law.

The old couple sent their daughter-in-law back to her parents' home without waiting for their son to come back.

Cui Yaofeng knew she was in the wrong and was afraid that her husband would come back and beat her up, so she went back to her parents' home in shame without making a fuss.

"Mom and Dad, what are you doing? No matter how foolish my sister-in-law is, you shouldn't send her back home for the sake of the two children. What if she commits suicide? How will you face my eldest brother and the two children?"

When Han Meijuan saw her sister-in-law being driven back to her parents' home, she knew that her parents were supporting her. But she was still a daughter and would get married in the future. For the next few decades, the old couple would still have to live with their son and daughter-in-law.

It's not worth it to offend your daughter-in-law for your daughter.

"Come on, stop trying to persuade my parents. With Feng's temper, she should have gone back to her parents' house to reflect on herself. My parents were right about this. She usually gossips and gets people blocking the door and scolding her, but my parents never say anything about her. She can be confused about small things, but she dares to be clever in big things."

"None of you are allowed to pick her up this time. Let her parents and brothers send her back. If you don't treat her, she might cause even greater trouble in the future."

Since Brother Han had made the final decision, Han Meijuan had nothing to say.

Seeing her parents and elder brother looking dejected, Han Mejuan told them about the three tons of coal that Qiao Baozhu had left for her.

"When I ran back home, Boss Qiao specially ordered three more tons of coal from Quyang. Quyang also knew that these three tons of coal were reserved for our family, and she was not angry."

Qu Yang was so angry with Cui Yaofeng that she refused to accept Han Meijuan's money. But she was also soft-hearted, worried that Han Meijuan's family would have no coal to burn in the winter.

Seeing that Qiao Baozhu paid for another three tons of coal, Qu Yang felt relieved.

Han's mother was touched: "Boss Qiao is really kind-hearted. Thanks to her help. Otherwise, we would have to buy coal at a high price."

The old couple originally had jobs. In order to prevent their son from going to the countryside, Han's mother passed her job to her eldest son.

Later, when Cui Yaofeng came into the family, the Han family spent money to hire her as a temporary worker. Unfortunately, she did not work hard and failed to pass the assessment to become a regular employee. Cui Yaofeng, who was unemployed at home, bullied her disabled sister-in-law all day long.

Han's father had no choice but to let Cui Yaofeng take over his job, but Cui Yaofeng refused to do it. She didn't want to earn money for her sister-in-law and support her parents-in-law for nothing.

There was no peace after all the commotion, and the Han family had long reached their limit of patience.

"Boss Qiao is such a good man. Tomorrow I will personally go to your store to apologize on behalf of your sister-in-law. By the way, I will discuss with Boss Qiao and let our coal be stored in your store first. Otherwise, if your sister-in-law knows that we bought coal, she will think that this matter has been passed without any serious consequences."

Han Mejuan nodded. It seemed that her elder brother was going to give his sister-in-law a severe lesson this time.

The next day, Brother Han went to apologize to Qu Yang with a bag of Guoguang apples.

Qu Yang was extremely flustered when he saw the almost thirty-year-old man bowing and apologizing to him. The resentment he had towards Cui Yaofeng disappeared completely.

When Qiao Baozhu learned that the Han family would temporarily leave the three tons of coal in the store, she readily agreed.

The happiest person was Hu Zhaodi. There was not much space in the store to store the coal, so they stored it all in her yard.

Just leave it there, she'll be happy.
