Although An Yiruo was puzzled, she still had to maintain proper politeness, so she picked up her phone, opened the text message editing page, and wrote, "Thank you for your concern, Dong Cheng. My mother is recovering well, and the surgery was a success."
Dong Cheng, who was working, heard his phone's text message notification tone. He glanced at the screen with a mix of nervousness and anticipation. When he saw An Yiruo's name, he was secretly delighted. She had indeed replied to his text message!
Although the text message was very official, he believed that there was plenty of time!
Moreover, Dong Cheng also felt that he had the ability and strength to compete with Mo Jingchen!
Thinking of this, Dong Cheng felt pleased and asked his colleague, "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Dong Cheng, what's wrong with you? Did you take the wrong medicine? You actually offered to help me with my work?" His colleague sitting next to him stared at him with wide eyes and a shocked expression.
"Stop talking nonsense, do you need any help?"
"I need it, I really need it!" He immediately grabbed a stack of files from the table, afraid that Dong Cheng would change his mind if he was even a moment late!
"Damn, you're really not going to hold back with me!"
"A fool wouldn't take advantage of a good deal! Hehe. Thank you for your help, Young Master Dong!"
"I'm in a good mood today, I won't hold it against you!" Dong Cheng said before returning to his seat to continue working...
In the hospital, in An Yiruo's mother's ward, after replying to the text message, An Yiruo handed the phone back to Mo Jingchen.
However, just as An Yiruo was replying to the message, Mo Jingchen's eyes caught sight of the name in the chat box: Dong Cheng!
He really didn't remember this person at all.
Mo Jingchen felt that An Yiruo posed no threat to him because he had no recollection of her and she was not particularly friendly towards him.
With that thought in mind, Mo Jingchen put An Yiruo's phone back on the coffee table and continued to handle the group's affairs.
For the next few days, An Yiruo took care of her mother at the hospital, and Mo Jingchen accompanied her throughout.
Today, the day finally arrived for An's mother to be discharged from the hospital. An Yiruo started helping her mother pack her things early in the morning. At this moment, her mood was different from the day she first arrived at the hospital; she felt relaxed and happy.
After everything was packed up, the doctor came over to give them some instructions on what to do after returning home, and then everyone left the hospital.
As she stepped out of the hospital, An's mother looked up at the sunlight streaming down from the sky. Though dazzling, it felt warm.
Even the air smells fresh!
"Mom, get in the car, be careful not to catch a cold!" An Yiruo helped her mother, wanting her to get in the car quickly!
"Okay." After patting An Yiruo's hand that was supporting her with her other hand, An's mother got into the car to go home.
When she got home, she found Aunt Li already waiting at the door of An's mother's house: "Aunt Li, what brings you here?"
An Yiruo was somewhat surprised to see Aunt Li here.
"The young master sent me here. I will stay here to take care of your mother until she fully recovers."
An Yiruo turned to look at Mo Jingchen beside her, her eyes filled with gratitude.
"Come in quickly, Mom needs to rest," Mo Jingchen urged everyone to go inside first.
"Thank you, Jingchen, you're so thoughtful." Mother An sat on the sofa, finding Mo Jingchen increasingly pleasing to the eye, and expressed her gratitude for his arrangements.
"Mom, you're too kind. We're all family, there's no need to be so polite."
An Yiruo wanted to stay and take care of her mother, but her mother forcibly sent her away, saying that her mother had already taken care of her in the hospital for many days and was very tired. She said that Aunt Li was enough for her.
After arranging everything for his mother, Mo Jingchen took An Yiruo back to Xinghai Bay, leaving Aunt Li there to take care of An's mother.
Back in Xinghai Bay, An Yiruo instantly felt exhausted and all she wanted was to take a hot bath and get a good night's sleep!
"Want to take a bath?"
"Are you a tapeworm in my stomach? How can you know what I'm thinking!"
"Because I love you enough, and I understand you enough."
Back in the room, Mo Jingchen went into the bedroom first, ran a bath for An Yiruo, and then found the clothes she would wear and put them on the shelf in the bathroom.
"An'an, the water's ready. Go wash up. Need any help?" Mo Jingchen said this in a serious tone, but there was a hint of roguishness in his voice.
"No need, it's such a small thing as taking a bath, how can I trouble Mr. Mo to do it personally? I can do it myself."
Watching An Yiruo quickly run into the bathroom and close the door, Mo Jingchen couldn't help but smile.
While An Yiruo was taking a shower, Mo Jingchen made the bed, lit some aromatherapy to help her sleep, drew the curtains, and held a hairdryer, waiting for An Yiruo to come out of the bathroom so she could go straight to bed and fall asleep.
The sound of running water in the bathroom stopped, and Mo Jingchen knew that the person inside was about to come out.
"An'an, come here and dry your hair."
An Yiruo nodded and sat down in front of the dressing table without any hesitation, enjoying Mo Jingchen's service.
"Chen, you look like the fairy godmother today."
“This is a husband’s duty. Your hair is dry, Mrs. Mo, you can go to bed now,” Mo Jingchen said, gesturing for her to proceed.
"Aren't you going to rest for a while?" An Yiruo asked, seeing that Mo Jingchen hadn't changed his clothes after lying down on the bed.
"I'll go to the guest room to take a shower in a bit, and then go to the study to handle some business."
"Mr. Mo is very busy."
"To earn money and support my princess," Mo Jingchen said, kissing An Yiruo's forehead before continuing, "asleep, my princess."
Once An Yiruo was sound asleep, Mo Jingchen quietly left, took a change of clothes, and went to the guest room to take a shower.
This was the most restful sleep An Yiruo had had in the past few days. She woke up again not naturally, but because she was hungry.
An Yiruo's stomach was rumbling, and she forced herself to get up, still half asleep, to go to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat, or maybe cook herself a packet of instant noodles.
"Aunt Li isn't here, I don't know if there's anything to eat," An Yiruo muttered to herself. As she walked downstairs, she saw the living room brightly lit and smelled delicious food wafting from the dining room.
"Hmm? Aunt Li is back?" An Yiruo stood on the steps and said with a puzzled look before heading to the restaurant to find out.
As a result, An Yiruo did not see Aunt Li, but saw Mo Jingchen wearing an apron and busy in the kitchen!
"Chen, you've worked hard." An Yiruo walked into the kitchen and hugged Mo Jingchen from behind.
