Chapter 48 Joining the Mo Family

"Xiao Zhang, just park your car near the Mo Group in a bit."

"Yes, young mistress."

Xiao Zhang parked the car at the street corner near the company. An Yiruo saw that there weren't many people around, so she got out of the car and walked all the way to the Mo Group building.

The Mo family is indeed the Mo family; even their office building is so luxurious and grand.

After An Yiruo went inside, she called Assistant Zhou: "Assistant Zhou, I've arrived."

“Madam, you can go directly to the operations department on the third floor. I’ve already spoken to them. The president needs to hold a high-level meeting later, and I can’t leave right away,” Assistant Zhou said somewhat apologetically.

"It's alright, I can go by myself. Assistant Zhou has other things to attend to."

An Yiruo didn't want to keep troubling Assistant Zhou, after all, he was Mo Jingchen's assistant and was probably very busy on weekdays.

Following Zhou's instructions, An Yiruo took the elevator to the third floor.

As soon as I entered the third floor, I saw that although it was not yet time for work, everyone was busy.

"Hello, I'm the new intern," An Yiruo greeted the female colleague closest to her.

The person was busy with something on the computer and didn't look at An Yiruo. He just casually said, "Intern, the manager's office is the third one from the back."

Okay, thank you.

An Yiruo did not feel uncomfortable because of the employee's attitude and strode forward.

An Yiruo saw the nameplate hanging above the office: "Operations Manager"

He took a deep breath and knocked on the manager's office door.

"Please come in," came the voice from inside, and An Yiruo opened the door and went in.

"Hello manager, I'm An Yiruo, the new intern."

"An intern? I know, Assistant Zhou spoke to me about it. You're the one..."

An Yiruo felt a surge of nervousness as she listened to the manager's unfinished words. She didn't know how Assistant Zhou had told this operations manager about her identity, nor did she know if he... knew that she was Mo Jingchen's wife.

Just as An Yiruo's heart was about to leap into her throat, the manager spoke again: "Assistant Zhou said you are his distant relative. But here, nepotism doesn't apply. If you can't complete your work, I won't show you any leniency."

"Don't worry, manager, I will definitely work hard."

The manager thought An Yiruo was quite good, and since she had been personally looked after by Assistant Zhou, he couldn't very well refuse Assistant Zhou's request.

"Okay, you go find a workstation first. I have to go to a meeting in a bit. I'll formally introduce you to everyone when I get back."

"Okay, then you can go ahead and get back to work, manager. I'll head out now." An Yiruo didn't forget to close the door behind her after leaving.

After coming out, seeing everyone busy in an orderly manner, An Yiruo found a seat and sat down.

"Hey you, could you print out this document for me?" a colleague said.

An Yiruo looked around and saw that there was no one else besides herself, so she pointed to herself and asked, "Are you talking about me?"

"Yes, it's you. Are you new here? Print this document for me."

"Hello, I'm An Yiruo, the new assistant."

"Ann... whatever. Print this document and deliver it to the manager's office."

After saying that, the man continued to bury himself in his work, leaving An Yiruo alone, bewildered...

There was no other way; newcomers to the workplace always have to do more work. An Yiruo turned around and went to the printing room, printed out all the documents, and then delivered them to the manager's office.

"Manager, here are the documents you requested," An Yiruo said politely.

The manager had just returned from a meeting upstairs and looked very upset. Although he knew that An Yiruo was a relative of Assistant Zhou, he still couldn't help but vent his emotions on her.

"What's wrong with you? You can't even print a document properly. The layout is obviously wrong. Didn't you even check it before printing?" The manager was deliberately finding fault.

"I'm sorry, manager, I'll reprint it right away," An Yiruo said before leaving the manager's office.

As soon as I stepped out, a girl stopped me: "Are you new here? What's your name? My name is Wen Xin, and I work in the operations department."

After Wen Xin finished speaking, she didn't forget to shake the name tag around An Yiruo's neck.

An Yiruo saw that the sign read: Wen Xin, Operations Department Specialist.

"Hello, my name is An Yiruo, and today is my first day at work."

"Just came out of the manager's office, got yelled at, huh?" Wen Xin said with an expression that seemed to know everything.

"How did you know?" An Yiruo was clearly surprised by Wen Xin's statement.

"Didn't you see the manager's expression wasn't good when he came back? If you rush up to hand him the documents at that moment, you'll definitely become a sitting duck," Wen Xin whispered in An Yiruo's ear.

"Did the manager's meeting not go well?" An Yiruo asked Wen Xin tentatively.

"According to reliable inside information, the manager was severely reprimanded by the president at the meeting upstairs, supposedly because the product operation did not meet expectations..." Wen Xin stopped there.

He pulled An Yiruo to the front of everyone's view, clapped his hands, and said, "Everyone, please stop for a moment. Let me introduce you. This is our new employee, An Yiruo. Please welcome her."

Wen Xin acted like a promoter, and with just one sentence, she promoted An Yiruo, letting everyone in the office know that a new employee named An Yiruo had arrived that day.

"Hello, my name is Zhang Yuanyuan, and I'm sitting next to you. You must have been upset in the manager's office just now. Don't take it to heart; you're new here and don't know the manager's temperament."

"The manager is a good person, except for his bad temper." Zhang Yuanyuan comforted An Yiruo while also giving the manager a way out so that An Yiruo wouldn't have a bad impression right from the start.

"Don't worry, everyone, I won't be overwhelmed by this small setback. My name is An Yiruo, and I hope you will all guide me in the future."

An Yiruo smiled and formally introduced herself to everyone. Because she was beautiful and eloquent, everyone quickly became friendly towards this new employee.

At noon, Zhang Yuanyuan and Wen Xin both suggested inviting An Yiruo to lunch, worried that she might feel lonely on her first day at work.

“In that case, why don’t we go together?” An Yiru suggested.

“Great idea! I know a new restaurant opened downstairs from the office. The food is really good. Shall we go try it for lunch?” Wenxin suggested.

“Great! I’ve been wanting to try that shop for ages. What do you think, An’an?” Zhang Yuanyuan said, looking at An Yiruo for her opinion.

“Okay, I’m fine with anything,” An Yiruo said as her phone rang.

An Yiruo looked at the word "husband" on the caller ID and, for some reason, felt a little guilty seeing it...
