Chapter 97 Because they are family, I trust them more.

After Gu Wanting finished speaking, she went to the backyard, to the organic vegetable garden that the Mo family had planted themselves.

Gu Wanting picked a lot of fruits and vegetables and had the servants pack them up to send to An Yiruo later.

Gu Wanting thought that since An Yiruo was injured, she should eat more nutritious food to help her recover. Nothing sold outside could compare to the green and healthy produce grown at home!

Thinking of this, Gu Wanting ordered someone to collect some eggs and catch two chickens, and send them to Xinghai Bay.

When Gu Wanting and the old lady of the Mo family arrived at Xinghai Bay, An Yiruo was somewhat shocked to see the two live chickens in the housekeeper's hands, but still said with a smile, "Grandma, Mom."

"An'an, how is your wound healing? Have you gone for a check-up?" Old Madam Mo looked at An Yiruo and couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

"Grandma, my wound has almost healed. I went to the hospital for a check-up a few days ago. The doctor said it's healing quite well. I can walk slowly now." After saying this, An Yiruo got up to show Grandma Mo.

"An'an, they say it takes a hundred days to recover from a broken bone. You should sit and rest properly, don't get injured again by walking around too soon!" Old Madam Mo stopped An Yiruo from getting up, worried that An Yiruo would suffer if she got injured again!

"Grandma, I'm not that delicate," An Yiruo said to Madam Mo somewhat embarrassed.

"Girls should be delicate and tender. Once An'an is healed, Grandma will take you shopping, and your mother-in-law will come too. Then we'll go out for hot pot!"

"Okay, Grandma. Once I'm healed, I'll treat you and Mom to hot pot!" An Yiruo wasn't very interested in shopping, but she was extremely enthusiastic about food!

“Okay, it’s settled then. I had someone bring a live chicken from the old house. It’s all-natural and pollution-free. Aunt Li will clean it up later, and we’ll make you some nourishing soup tonight,” Gu Wanting said, holding An Yiruo’s hand.

"Mom, Grandma, why don't you eat here with us tonight? There's so much food, Jingchen and I can't finish it all by ourselves," An Yiruo asked Old Madam Mo and Gu Wanting for their opinions.

"Hehe, we'd be more than happy to. But, won't Jingchen be unhappy?" Although Old Madam Mo was Mo Jingchen's grandmother, she was still somewhat afraid of her grandson!

"No, because of my injury, Jingchen hasn't been back to the Mo family's old house for a long time. Today, we're taking this opportunity to have a small gathering at Xinghai Bay. I wonder if Dad has time and would like to come along!" An Yiruo mentioned Mo Zhiyuan because she was worried that it wouldn't be good to leave Mo Zhiyuan alone at home while everyone else was eating there.

"Let your dad eat at home by himself! What's a grown man doing getting involved in this?" Before Gu Wanting could even speak, Old Madam Mo answered for Mo Zhiyuan.

"Okay, I'll ask Aunt Li to cook a few more dishes later." An Yiruo looked at the sky outside the window, thinking that Mo Jingchen would be back soon.

I didn't send him a message about Madam Mo and Gu Wanting coming over.

The three generations of the family sat on the sofa chatting. Madam Mo was a real gossip queen, and she knew all the secrets of the various families.

He spoke vividly to Gu Wanting and An Yiruo, causing their facial expressions to change constantly.

If Old Madam Mo hadn't said it, An Yiruo would never have imagined that the seemingly glamorous and prestigious wealthy family was actually so dirty and shameful behind the scenes.

The three of them were chatting excitedly when Mo Jingchen opened the door and returned. Uncle Wang stepped forward to take Mo Jingchen's coat, and Mo Jingchen, looking at the harmonious scene between the three of them in the entryway, felt a sense of satisfaction rise in his heart.

Seeing An Yiruo getting along well with her family, Mo Jingchen smiled and walked towards them: "Mom, Grandma. When did you arrive?"

After Mo Jingchen arrived, Gu Wanting consciously gave up the seat next to An Yiruo to Mo Jingchen, and then smiled and sat down next to him.

"An'an, how are you feeling today?" Mo Jingchen asked with concern as he sat down next to An Yiruo.

“I feel pretty good today. I asked Aunt Li to cook a few extra dishes for Grandma and Mom to eat here tonight,” An Yiruo said, turning to Mo Jingchen.

Mo Jingchen nodded without saying anything more.

"Young Master, dinner is ready," Uncle Wang said to Mo Jingchen.

Madam Mo and Gu Wanting got up and walked towards the restaurant, while Mo Jingchen carried An Yiruo over.

"Chen, put me down," An Yiruo whispered, holding onto Mo Jingchen's neck.

"I won't let go."

"It wouldn't be good if Mom and Grandma saw this!"

Before Mo Jingchen could speak, Gu Wanting said with a smile, "An'an, you should let him carry you over. A husband is someone you can use whenever you want! Besides, you need to make them feel needed; that's when they'll be happier!"

As someone who had been through it all, Gu Wanting gave An Yiruo a lesson. Although every word she said made sense, it still made An Yiruo blush slightly.

Old Madam Mo, observing everything from the side, couldn't help but think that her granddaughter-in-law was far too easily embarrassed. Hehe, but it was quite amusing!

"Jingchen, what do you plan to do about the people who bullied An'an?" Old Madam Mo suddenly asked at the dinner table.

“Grandma, An Zhengrong has nothing to do with the An Group anymore. I acquired his company at a low price. And Mo Lingxiao… will soon receive his punishment.” Mo Jingchen answered the old lady’s question while serving An Yiruo some food.

"That Mo Lingxiao, he caused trouble without even realizing it. Today his father even came to the old house to plead with your father, but your father clearly refused," Gu Wanting said, somewhat angrily.

“I was listening to their conversation upstairs, and I was really afraid that your dad would give in and agree to his request. If your dad agreed to help him, I would never speak to him again!” Gu Wanting continued the previous topic.

The sky outside the window was gradually darkening, while the lights of countless homes illuminated the city that was about to descend into darkness.

This sudden light was like a lifeline for An Yiruo. Sitting at the dinner table, listening to Mo Jingchen's family talk about how they were going to avenge her, she felt as if she were in a different world. She never imagined that one day she would be so loved and cherished.

She once thought that she and her mother were kicked out of their home by An Zhengrong because she hadn't done enough. Although her mother protected her in every way, she still felt inferior, believing that it was because of her that her parents had drifted apart...

Over the years, the maternal love her mother gave her made her very happy, even though she didn't have a father. This gradually made her forget about those thoughts.

Now, the warmth that Mo Jingchen and his family bring her makes her realize that there is no need for explanations between family members. Because they are family, they trust each other more, and the protection between family members is without reason!
