Chapter 47: Cry and Don't Come Back for Comfort

"I understand, thank you, Assistant Zhou," An Yiruo said politely.

"You're too kind, Madam. You can come and report for duty tomorrow morning. Please feel free to call me anytime if you have any questions," Assistant Zhou said.

"Okay, I'll go first thing tomorrow morning."

After hanging up the phone, An Yiruo began preparing what she would need for work the next day.

Actually, I didn't bring much. I just put together an outfit that looked like something a working woman would wear, and then sat at the dressing table and read some books related to my profession for a while.

Although An Yiruo studied operations in university, the Mo Group is a large company, and it's uncertain whether her knowledge base is sufficient to meet the requirements for interns.

It is said that even last-minute cramming can be effective, and An Yiruo spent the entire afternoon reviewing her lessons. Even after Mo Jingchen returned, she remained seated in front of her dressing table, her eyes never leaving her books.

"An'an, what are you doing?"

When Mo Jingchen returned, he saw her writing furiously at her dressing table and asked her with some confusion.

“Chen, you’re back. I was reading a book. Assistant Zhou told me to report to the operations department tomorrow. I’m worried that my abilities won’t meet the requirements, so…” An Yiruo glanced at the book and said.

"Miss An, are you cramming for the battle at the last minute?" Mo Jingchen said with a smile.

"Chen, are you mocking me?"

Faced with questions about An Yiruo's death, Mo Jingchen still couldn't tell the truth: "No, I just felt that someone as smart as An'an wouldn't need to bury herself in studying tonight. After all... one night won't solve much of a problem."

After saying the last sentence, Mo Jingchen stood far away, afraid that An Yiruo's anger would affect him.

"You're just talking without understanding the situation. I need to get my internship grades, Mr. Mo," An Yiruo said, ignoring Mo Jingchen and continuing to sit at her vanity reading books related to her major.

“An’an, actually… you don’t have to work so hard. How about I have Assistant Zhou arrange a position as my assistant for you? You just need to serve me. What do you say?” Mo Jingchen leaned down and whispered in An Yiruo’s ear.

"No, I need to prove with my abilities that I can do a good job as an intern at the Mo Group. Also, you're not allowed to talk to me at the company, nor are you allowed to say you know me. And you're not allowed to give me any special treatment," An Yiruo suddenly warned Mo Jingchen.

"Alright, since An'an is so determined, I'll have Assistant Zhou treat you the same as everyone else. Don't come running back crying for comfort later," Mo Jingchen said with a doting expression.

Although he said that, he also believed that An Yiruo was capable of doing the job.

"An'an, go to my study to read. I also have some work to do."

"Your study? May I come in?"

Mo Jingchen tapped An Yiruo on the head, and An Yiruo cried out in pain, "Ouch!"

"An'an, remember this: the door to my study is always open for you."

"But don't TV dramas always say that the CEO's study is a forbidden area, and no one is allowed to enter?"

"An'an, watching too many TV dramas is really pointless," Mo Jingchen said helplessly.

"Chen, aren't you afraid I'll go into your study and steal your trade secrets? Aren't you afraid I'm an undercover agent sent by the enemy?" An Yiruo had already imagined a grand drama of corporate espionage.

“If the enemy sent you here as an undercover agent, you would have died countless times by now. Let’s go.” Mo Jingchen took the book that An Yiruo had placed on the dressing table with one hand and led An Yiruo to the study with the other.

Stepping into the study, the room is filled with the scent of male hormones. One entire wall of bookshelves is filled with all sorts of books.

The files on the desktop were all neatly arranged. It was spotless.

"Chen, where should I sit?"

“Sit here,” Mo Jingchen said, pointing to his own large chair.

"It's not nice to take your seat," An Yiruo said, looking at the executive chair, which looked very comfortable. Although she wanted to sit down, she still had to maintain a certain level of composure on the surface.

"Please bear with it today, I'll have someone send over a new table and chairs tomorrow. What style does An'an like?"

"I'm fine with anything. Actually, if you don't mind, I can sit across from you. After all, this table... is big enough."

“Sit across from me. Doesn’t An’an feel wronged? There’s just one table in this study, which is perfect,” Mo Jingchen said, pointing to the spot next to his table near the floor-to-ceiling window.

An Yiruo looked in the direction Mo Jingchen was pointing, and indeed, the location was quite good.

After studying, you can look up and see the scenery outside the window. The large floor-to-ceiling windows offer a panoramic view of City A.

"Then let's set up a table here," An Yiruo said, roughly tracing the outline in the direction Mo Jingchen was pointing.

“Okay,” Mo Jingchen replied, looking at An Yiruo with affection.

An Yiruo then sat down in Mo Jingchen's chair and quickly got into a study mode.

Mo Jingchen sat opposite her. Seeing her serious expression, Mo Jingchen showed a look of satisfaction.

That night, one of them studied and the other worked, and time flew by...

The next morning, An Yiruo got up early, and after getting ready, she looked at herself in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction.

"An'an, let's go downstairs for breakfast after we're done tidying up."

"good."

Mo Jingchen held An Yiruo's hand, and from a distance, they even looked somewhat like a young couple deeply in love.

After breakfast, Mo Jingchen suggested that he go with An Yiruo, but An Yiruo refused.

"Chen, I can't ride in the same car as you. If someone sees us, it will be hard to explain."

"An'an, shall I take you to which company, or to the street corner nearby?"

“No,” An Yiruo shook her head in refusal. She then added, “Chen, do you have a more understated car? The Bentley you got for me is too flashy.”

"A low-key car? The only one we have is the family car for grocery shopping," Mo Jingchen said after thinking for a while.

"Then let's use the grocery shopping cart," An Yiruo thought. Since it was a grocery shopping cart, it couldn't be too high-end, which would suit her intern status perfectly.

But when An Yiruo saw the grocery shopping car that Mo Jingchen had mentioned, she was stunned. A grocery shopping car... a Mercedes...

"What normal person drives a Mercedes to buy groceries?" An Yiruo thought to herself, utterly speechless.

But then I thought, for a big CEO like him, a Mercedes-Benz is probably the cheapest car he owns.

An Yiruo reluctantly got into the car, and Xiao Zhang was still the driver responsible for picking her up and dropping her off.
