Chapter 129 The Poor Assistant

After Assistant Zhou returned to the office, Secretary Zhang and Secretary Li came over and asked him with concern, "How is the little girl?"

Secretary Li: "Why did Xia Yu suddenly faint?"

Even if Xia Yu was the person that President Qin had mentioned as needing special care, even if a colleague fainted, they would still ask about it.

Assistant Zhou pulled out his office chair and sat down. He sighed deeply before saying, "Oh, forget it. It's not a big deal. She just fainted from heatstroke while buying coffee downstairs."

ah?!

Hearing this, Secretary Zhang and Secretary Li looked at each other knowingly, and the same thought emerged in their minds: This little girl is a little too fragile, both mentally and physically. She is either crying or fainting and being admitted to the hospital.

Secretary Zhang couldn't help but sigh, "How could a little girl cause so much trouble?"

Assistant Zhou had said before that this young girl had only been in the company for a few days, but she had already caused him a lot of trouble. Secretary Zhang didn't quite believe it.

But after this incident, he knew completely that what Assistant Zhou said was true.

This little girl is a complete disaster-attracting person. Whoever meets her will be in trouble.

He had only met the little girl this once, but he felt like he couldn't handle it anymore. Who knew if he accidentally made her cry again?

He has been working for so many years, but this is the first time he has met such a delicate girl who cries at the slightest provocation.

It seems that I have to have less contact with that little girl in the future. I will try to avoid contact if possible. If I really can't avoid it, I will just try to go along with her.

What if one day she cried in front of him and was accidentally seen by others, and they said that he was a grown man bullying a little girl, then his reputation would be ruined.

Secretary Zhang once again patted Assistant Zhou's shoulder sympathetically to express his comfort.

"You'll just have to fend for yourself in the future."

Assistant Zhou had a gloomy face. He said that he really couldn't bear it anymore. The girl had only been there for a few days and she had already made the secretaries so upset. He couldn't imagine what the rest of his life would be like.

Assistant Zhou suddenly asked Secretary Li: "How long will Xia Yu be interning here?"

Secretary Li replied, "President Qin said it would take about three months."

Once again, she was thankful that the little girl was not under her care, otherwise she would be the one worrying about her now.

"Three months left?"

Assistant Zhou could only accept it all with a wry smile.

At the end of the working day, Assistant Zhou was about to pack up and leave when he suddenly received a call from Xia Yu, asking him to go to the hospital to pick her up and take her home.

Assistant Zhou suspected he had misheard and asked, "Why don't you just take a taxi home? Why do you want me to pick you up?"

He really couldn't understand how a small intern could be so confident in asking her supervisor to take her home.

"I don't know where I am now. I'm afraid I'll get lost and come home late. My mom will call me again to ask what's going on. Should I tell her about my heatstroke?"

"No! You must not tell her about this!"

Assistant Zhou could already imagine that for a person who was always causing trouble at work, her mother was probably not someone to be trifled with. If her mother came to the conclusion about it, it would be another pile of trouble for him. It was a disheartening thought.

In desperation, Assistant Zhou had to prepare to send the girl home from the hospital. The girl's heatstroke was not serious this time, and the doctor did not ask her to take any medicine. He originally wanted to leave after sending the girl home, but was invited by Mrs. Xia to visit the Xia family.

Mrs. Xia asked Mrs. Li to bring Assistant Zhou a cup of tea.

Mrs. Xia said gently, "You must be Assistant Zhou, who works with Mr. Qin and is in charge of our daughter. You are really young and promising."

Assistant Zhou: "I don't deserve that title, but it's true that I've been in charge of Xia Yu during this period."

Mrs. Xia said softly, "Our daughter has just graduated from high school. If Xia Yu does anything wrong at work, please forgive her."

Xia Yu sat aside, hugging Mrs. Xia's arm, and said coquettishly: "Mom, how can you say bad things about your own daughter in front of other people? I still have some dignity."

Mrs. Xia smiled and said to her, "You are my daughter, and I don't know your temper. You, apart from giving me peace of mind when it comes to studying, I don't worry about anything else."

Xia Yu expressed her dissatisfaction and walked aside, muttering quietly: "I'm not that ignorant. In order not to worry you, I didn't even tell you that I had heatstroke and was admitted to the hospital today."

Regardless of her daughter's words, Mrs. Xia continued to speak gently to Assistant Zhou, "You personally brought my daughter home today. She must have done something wrong, right?"

Assistant Zhou said politely, "It's just a simple favor. It's not your daughter's fault. She's still young and very innocent."

Some things can be discussed and complained to colleagues in private, but there is no need to complain to their parents and embarrass them.

After all, some people don't distinguish right from wrong. Regardless of whether it is their child's fault or not, they will protect their children first.

The other person was just being polite, but he couldn't be so tactful as to tell him all the troubles Xia Yu had gotten into in the past few days, otherwise he would offend the other person.

Mrs. Xia winked at Mrs. Li who was standing beside her. Mrs. Li immediately understood and went upstairs. Not long after, Mrs. Li came back with a gift box in her hand.
