Chapter 10 Catching a Little Rice Bucket
"Try it." Lin Zhaozhao handed the bow and arrow to Lin Yangyang. Just moments ago, Lin Yangyang had been acting like a silly deer, but her demeanor suddenly changed. She shot the bamboo arrow with lightning speed, perfectly replicating Lin Zhaozhao's movements.
With a little practice, one can be able to handle things independently.
As night deepened, everyone had finished washing up and was preparing to go to sleep. Lin Zhaozhao's hair was gradually drying in the night breeze after her shower. Just as she was about to return to the mule cart to sleep, she heard a deliberately hushed argument coming from next door.
“You were unwilling to pay for this mule cart during the day, and I told you not to regret it.”
"Li Minghuang, how can you bear to let Yunyun sleep on the floor? Those are your mother and older brother, they patiently said a few kind words to you, can't you even tolerate Yunyun?"
"No, I can't afford to lose face."
"Is your face more important or Yunyun? You, a rough man, can put up with this, but how can Yunyun stand it? If she gets bitten by mosquitoes and gets sick from the fright, it'll be your fault as her father."
"That's all your fault, you mother! If you want me to go, you have to pay for this mule cart."
......
No one paid any attention, and the sounds gradually faded. The croaking of frogs and chirping of crickets came from outside. Lin Zhaozhao's eyelids drooped, and she fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, Lin Zhaozhao was awakened by mosquito bites. Old Mrs. Lin and Li Xiujuan were already fast asleep. To avoid crowding her, the two curled up together. Lin Zhaozhao felt as if she were enveloped in a warm current, and she felt quite pleased. She then took out the mosquito-repelling grass that she had picked in the mountains that day and used her supernatural abilities to plant a large patch of it under the mule cart.
After finishing her work, Lin Zhaozhao's drowsiness completely dissipated. With nothing else to do, she entered her space and saw a cherry tree and a lamb hurting each other. The branches of the cherry tree were wrapped around the lamb, who seemed to be restrained but was actually taking the opportunity to bite the cherries on the note. The way the lamb spat out the pits was incredibly skillful.
Yi Yang and Yi Shu were caught off guard by Lin Zhaozhao's sudden appearance, and the atmosphere froze for a moment. However, they seemed to be scalded and separated abruptly, trying to act as if nothing had happened.
Lin Zhaozhao crossed her arms, pinched her chin with her fingertips, and looked around. She found that the vegetable garden and wooden shed were just as messy as before. How could Lin Zhaozhao not see it?
In her space, everything is on the verge of becoming a spirit.
"Tell me, what happened?" As soon as he finished speaking, the little lamb plopped down on the ground and started scratching and posing like a cat that had just taken catnip, trying to get away with it. But the cherry tree wasn't about to let it get away with it, and immediately stretched out its branches to accuse the little lamb of its misdeeds.
First, he pointed to the ravaged grass, then to the calm fishpond, then to the wooden shed and the grass, and finally to his own big head. His expression was so convincing that it seemed as if the words "righteous indignation" were written all over his body.
"You mean the lamb ate them all?" The cherry tree branch nodded heavily, making the leaves rustle. The lamb, on the other hand, looked dejected and covered its eyes with its paws guiltily. Its two flat ears, which were positioned under its horns, twitched.
Lin Zhaozhao could see clearly that the little lamb, seemingly admitting his mistake, was actually cunningly peeking at her expression through the gap.
"How can your little belly hold so much food?" Lin Zhaozhao glanced at the little lamb's flat stomach, a faint smile playing on her lips. "You're probably a glutton."
No wonder when she mentioned the lamb to customer service after receiving the goods, the customer service specifically added that free gifts cannot be returned; it turns out there was that hidden clause.
